I like the bottom. At first, I thought it could be filled with dyed epoxy (some color other than black), that would draw one's eye, but it already does. inspiring
@ThePapa19475 ай бұрын
Thank you very much Robert. I think dyed expoxy is a choice many would make. I avoid the stuff . Not that it does not look good for somethings. Just not for me. The fumes ,dust and mess is not good to be around. At least for me. I will use it to keep a piece together now and then. Thanks for watching, Gary

Oh, man, I could see all kinds of obstacles in the way of this turning, Gary. The knot was a huge one but those deep voids on the outside did not help any. I felt for you on this one! But, you came through and the finished piece is fantastic! You brought out the very best this had to offer and it looks great! Really nice finish! I don't think you mentioned what kind of wood, well, besides potato! LOL! I even watched a second time but I don't think you said. No matter, it turned out wonderfully! Keep'em coming, buddy! 😀 Phil

Thank you Rick. No reason to feel bad there was no way I was not going to turn this piece. But what a suprise I got. Still a lot of fun. Take care, Gary

Looks like your burl was a dead branch “heal over”. Always a tricky turn. But you found a good result out of the piece.

Exactly Valerie. It was also the poor thing that someone hammered 2 large nails in that I cut through when removing this from the burl. But it made 2 nice turnings!

I love the look of the piece.. How have you been. I've not turned anything in awhile. the whole selling stuff at my booth has been keeping me very very busy. cutting boards and tables . bowls don't do much. people love them but not the price. I need to get back to it.

Thank you Chris. Doing good here thanks. I would never be able to find the time to setup a booth and sell what I make. But I sure have the turnings stacking up LOL Thanks for watching, Gary
