I remember when I finally got the “life I wanted” I had to adjust from always working toward that goal/fantasying to finally being there and figuring out what it was I ACTUALLY wanted to do with my time. I account for my time very intentionally and make sure that I am checking in every day to my family who lives all over the world, as true bonds are forged in a lot of time and life isn’t as good without at least a couple of people to share it with. I find out about myself the most when I go days without human contact (sometimes I’m parked so far out there is no service) and find myself with many epiphany, the illusion glimpsed through again. For me, it’s good to actually check in with myself for an extended period of time...just to make sure I’m on track and adjust when necessary.

And the beauty of simplicity. Now I know that I was never really happy befor. The seasons of the year brought me back to (my) nature and make me feel a part of it. I also had strange times (for example an achilles tendon rupture) but I'm still alive. Never been so blessed! Thank You for sharing Your experiences! 🙏 Heartly greetings from Austria 🇦🇹

"Coincidentally" I found my new home, that I have described. Here I realized what live really means. I'm heating with wood and most of it, I'm doing by myself. Of course I have to be careful with my back, but that's ok. There is electricity in the house, but only for a refrigerator and my mobil phone 😉 In the evening In the evening I use candles, weich I also make myself. It appears that Ms. Isabelle is a complete fraud for purposes of monetizing a youtube channel. Success! With her numbers, she's doing well. And good for her. But she's lying about her story, which is what I object to. But don't be a chump for her. My red-flags started rising when Ms. Paige suddenly decamped her hard work-site at the Washington site to travel to Scotland and got set-up in some sweeeeeet situation right from go! None of the timing worked to accomplish so much from so little. Plus, everything else that makes no sense now viewed in hind-sight: - Working some (close-to) minimum-wage job in a food co-op in Wenatchee for income. - Expensive photography equipment consisting of many many video cameras, drones, editing equipment, etc. - The time for Isabelle (or somebody) to spend a LOT of time editing the videos, which, let's face it, are beautiful and well crafted. But is this the work-product from somebody working a food co-op job and trying to grow her own food while working many many construction projects at her Washington site...or does she hire a full-time editor? - New work spaces, sheds, etc. being constructed. Lumber and supplies for building is pricey? Where did funds come from? Not the income from a Wenatchee food co-op source. - Good quality power tools, battery powered and grid. That equipment isn't cheap. - Cats cats cats. Pets get expensive. They look good for cuteness and value projecting. Hmmm - Two air tickets to Scotland plus luggage fees. Hmmm - Landing in a sweet (and sizable!) "cottage" to settle into for "several weeks". - An expensive van in good-shape purchased in Scotland and completely converted....while having the time to explore much of the country. The timing, the money, the accomplishments so quickly. I was so taken in at first with her hard-work success story. I loved her narrative. Now everything appears to be a carefully crafted and youtube-monetized illusion. It appears Isabelle is a fraud. Who's the real Isabelle? I feel like a chump. Kinda pissed.

Isabel living in the mountains can be tough, but there are ways to make your life easier. You wanted something to build? I have a GREAT idea! Build yourself a lean-to to put your wood under so, when it snows the wood is protected. You can still cover it with a tarp but you won't need to dig out of so much snow. In my area that's what all my neighbors have it's called a "wood shed". Next, girl you NEED a snow shovel!!! I have a battery powered one which works AMAZING. You need to keep up with the snow though cuz it doesn't do a foot of snow haha, but every 6- 8 inches will be fine. You can make cool paths to your moms place, to your outhouse, river, your studio etc...hell even you car if you have enough batteries lol..forget yoga just shovel away unhappiness 😆 🤣 😂

I have been wondering the same. It looks pretty but this is a very isolating way for such a young gal to live - mentally taxing and then so physically taxing she can't even get out with major avalanche warnings or with high fever. In her last few videos she has mentioned lonliness, hard times, the worst times, etc a lot. She seems to actually be struggling and throwing hints that everything is not all ok and people still keep commenting "beautiful video, cant wait to see next week's video". Perhaps take a cue from Hannah and pick up and do some travel during the long, hard winter when it's time for a break. The view from the mountain top is beautiful but is only one view of a very large world.

Isabel, Thank you for sharing a few glimpses into your pristine Winter world. (I was afraid that you might freeze, during some of your outdoor adventures..🙂 ) I'm impressed that you were able to weave your own neck scarf. (That's a skill I'd like to learn.) I was going to recommend acquiring a ski 'gator' for your neck and mouth area.) I'm hoping that the following suggestions, might help you on your future wilderness journey... * A square nosed shovel, might help you move more snow with each scoop. (Or, even better, a small snow shovel, should help you move the snow more efficiently.) * To ward off future illness, the following nutrients will help boost your immune system. Extra vitamin C and D3. Some Zinc will also help (You should take the Zinc with food, to avoid stomach upset.) (Any fresh citrus fruit will also help. e.g. grapefruit, oranges, lemons) * Taking a daily mineral supplement. * A winter river swim might lead to a case of pneumonia. Your body will channel all of its energy into staying warm. This will reduce the amount of energy that your body has available for your immune system. (which will lead to a cold/flu/pneumonia) Next topic. I'm impressed that you were able to install a new water pump under your sink . 🙂. Most young ladies don't know how to splice electrical wires. Anyway, thank you for sharing some of the 'wonders' of your Winter wonderland.

I absolutely love your storytelling! For the loud water pump, you can try mounting it atop a layer of some material that has a different density than the cabinet. A firm rubber or really dense foam would suffice. The idea is to have the resonant frequency of the mount transferring into your outer layer, which itself has a differing resonant frequency of the cabinet. Building an insulated box around the pump may also help to reduce noise.

Very nice video, Isabell, and congratulations on all you do, especially on your inner realizations. The real happiness, the "absolute" happiness, just wells up from the depths of our lives. This is in contrast to the "relative" happiness, which is transient, and dependant on externals. Most important is realizing people come into this world with varying degrees of enlightenment, based on their previous life causes. This explains why some children are born into love and compassion, while others are born into suffering. As we deepen our own enlightenment, we realize it is our mission in life to spread compassion, and help others realize their own state of enlightenment. This is the basis for Buddhism, especially Nichiren Buddhism, and the SGI. I'm hoping that you stay healthy, and "absolutely" happy, filled with confidence, and the strength and determination to overcome whatever challenges may come your way. Thanks for your beautiful video. Nam-myoho-renge-kyo. Eddie ❤

Glad you feel better. This was such a great episode. The bread, roasting the coffee beans, the scarf... melting snow, feeding the fire 🔥 the sunrise ... Glad the river hasn't frozen over yet ... I wanted to give this a triple like.. ❤️🙏 SOOO good.

What a huge snowfall! And being sick and without power, keeping the fire going and the avalanche danger, to boot. So glad you got better and the power came on. You have amazing fortitude. And wisdom beyond your years. Blessed to have found your channel.

its really not that hard to achieve cinematography like this on your own. pretty achievable if you understand shot composition

@@hiabiy yet some Hollywood billionaire productions can’t achieve said cinematography.

I live in northern Canada but once lived overseas for about 10 years. I love northern climates. When I was in Vietnam, it was pitch black at 6:30 pm everyday. Yes, we have short days in winter but Christmas is magical in Canada. And when it doesn't get dark until 11 pm in summer, it's great. I would never move to a tropical country after what I've experienced. Each to their own, but I love the north. The cool thing about an "adventure" like this is that you know how to do it. If you ever need to disappear during some period of social unrest, you have the confidence to take care of yourself. Many city folk don't even know how to get sanitary water if the supermarket is sold out (covid) or if the taps don't work.

Well if the taps dont work its not like we can drink through the ocean. I mean we dont have any river in the city you know that right

Not at all, if she had no car and the electricity did that go back on and if she got sicker she would just die out there. Only modern convenience saving her including the food she bought from the supermarket or online. Smh

Oh Isabel, I know that scary feeling of mortal terror too! I have a sailing yacht and I remember having a fever holed up in my cabin while a cold front blew in. It's the scariest feeling in the world. It was very cold outside and 30 mph winds and more. I know every sound on my boat and the wind was pounding everything to the limit. I was relatively warm and pretty safe but no one is around the marina in the winter so I felt very alone and isolated. The ropes I use to hoist the sails (Halyards) were clanging against the mast continuously...pang, pang, pang...hour after hour while I laid there with a fever. The boat was beating against the dock and the mooring ropes were jerking me around like a devil rattling me around in my cradle....and there I was, weak like a kitten. I'll never forget it. I stuck it out and I didn't want to leave my dream home on the water but it really tested me. I really had to convince myself I would get through it ok. It was a long weekend. Fortunately, tough times come to an end too and I've had many good times since! I really love your videos and you certainly have a spot in my heart! Keep being you! - Captain Chris

I’m from the UK and our lives are very different but I am so grateful you allow us to see your journey, the good, the bad and the beautiful. @Myth Tree Hey myth tree, I meant more personally that mine and Isabels lives are different, wasn’t making a sweeping statement the all of the uk lives differently to the off grid style living. Love the off grid way of life. Self sustaining, self sufficient. Sending you health and happiness
