For what it's worth, your time trial videos are some of my favorite on your channel. The IA10 license and the Lewis Hamilton dlc are easily top 5 all-time super gt videos. It's like trying to catch lightning in a bottle. It's so frustrating when mess it up, but when you get all the corners on the track right, and launch out of that last one toward the strip, and you know it's going to be a great time when you get there, that's a good feeling.

I've just been wondering the same thing, I love cockpit view and have for years, would changing views improve my driving? I'm only a casual gamer so should I just stick with cockpit view? 🤔 I love watching your videos but I'm too old to have any aspirations of getting anywhere near as good as you, or anyone for that matter, so from an old rookie thankyou for sharing your expertise, 👏👏👏👏👍
@tvd-theremedy2515 Жыл бұрын
@@dt1607 A lot of it just depends on personal preference, but I do think you’d ultimately do better with a different camera view (once you got adjusted to it). The cockpit view does look awesome, but I never do as well using that camera as I do using others (primarily bumper cam view). The view from inside the car tends to block a significant amount of your “peripheral” vision. That’s just my opinion though, that you’d do better with a different camera view. Go with whichever one you enjoy using the most.

Really good point about following the wrong ghost, I think much more than 0.5s faster is too much to try and keep up with over a full lap - top tip for that: If you go to the showcase and search for fastest lap replays at the same circuit/car etc. (The lap time is shown in the top-right corner of the thumbnail), you can add that replay to your collection (the button for this is on the replay preview screen) - once added, the ghost for that lap will appear as an option to load from the ghost settings next time you time-trial/qualify.

Love watching these, reminds me of when I used to play a push bike racing gaming called free rider. I would spend hours and hours improving on tracks to try and get featured ghosts (featured ghosts were like the highest achievement you could get on a track, but they had to be perfect, and be deemed virtually impossible to improve upon). I eventually was regarded as one of the best players at the category of track I was good at. Would love to get into sim racing to scratch that same itch of trying to get the perfect time.

Great video! This is also my weekly struggle, as my race pace is usually quite a lot better than my time trial pace. I managed a 29.0 on Monday or Tuesday, then couldn't get close again on Wednesday. On Thursday I got my new load cell pedals so I needed to get used to them, causing me to do this time trial again quite a lot. But I never managed to get close again. In theory, yes, but getting all sectors together can be so difficult, especially on a track like this. But still, it is quite fun. The biggest problem with this Dragon trail course, and same with Monza this week, is those chicanes are so minimal on whether you are in or out and whether you will get a penalty or not. You think you are taking them the same way nearly every time, and when you think you are due a penalty, you don't get it and when you think you are safe, that is when you get a penalty. Its maddening. That said, I had some good runs on Dragon trail last week, and even got one win. Quite often started well back in 10th or 12th etc, and finished either top 3 or top 5. Monza this week I started the week with a win as well, but been a few top 5 finishes as well, mostly due to everyone killing each other at the two chicanes of death.
