I'm so happy I found your channel today. I'm trying to get myself started on landscape photography, something that I have repeatedly put off because I thought it was pointless (saturated market, lack of skill, etc...) I really appreciate your sense of humour in your videos and it helps me absorb the content better. You are AWESOME!!

As a channel 13 months into my youtube journey, I found your video very informative, useful and above all honest, not over hyped and full of sh#t like so many other creators have put out on the same subject. I just do my own thing now and see what works or doesn't and try to learn from it, and not watch videos on the creator side of things, but I'd already watched some of your content and glad I watched this one, so signed up for your news letter also. All the best, keep up the good work.

I stumbled across your channel only a short time ago but really enjoy your work. Your pics are great and your sense of humor is really something that is great about your channel. I really prefer channels that are more genuine and don't appear to take themselves so seriously. I'm not saying you don't take the work seriously but you are way more enjoyable and relatable to watch and learn from because of how you come across. I definitely don't want to do the KZbin thing but I have started to try and grow my photography with hopes to make a little money off it and I totally see what you say about you try but get nothing back cause that is what I am living currently.

Hi, I really appreciate some of your content on photo editing in LrC for the clarity and completeness, despite the short times. Given your dedication, you certainly won't need my encouragement but, perhaps because I'm old, I felt empathy for the sincere human and personal, non-trivial considerations that you expressed about your work and commitment. Sorry for the Google translation but my English is poor. I wish you good things, best regards.💪

First of all, congrats on making it in english. Brazilian here and most of the content I follow is from english speaking channels, so you definitely did the right choice to reach out to a bigger audience. Second, I'm 30 and I have been in and out of photography since I was 15. I tried a lot of things in life and always flirted with the idea of becoming a content creator. Your video helped a lot. @SimplyDingo
@SimplyDingo 2 ай бұрын
One thing I learned about putting yourself out there is, that you usually surround yourself with a community that can identify with you. If you are beeing toxic, then your community will be this aswell. If you are trying to be real and kind, your community will reflect that. And the numbers are hard to blend out. They are important... But then you feel you need to obsess over them, which hurts yourself and your content aswell... That's why I don't really mind having mixed content. Sometimes you need to get a video out to push the number and hit some keywords for stuff that is trending, but on the other hand, people will stay because they find you entertaining or find you relateable, so you need to work on that aswell and have fun with that.. Which is probably the most important part. Fun 😊

Thanks, man. I'm really thinking about starting back up again, and it's good to hear someone else's story. My experience was a bit different; I had almost no views for the first 10 videos, then suddenly one video exploded! A few videos later, I had another winner. However, this set some very unrealistic expectations, and I went on to create another 40 or so videos with less than average views. I completely lost motivation, not to mention the cost of production and feeding a family. I eventually had to return to the dreaded 'day job.' I'm considering making a big change in how I create content. Believe it or not, I'm thinking about reducing the production quality so I can maintain a realistic production cycle. Thanks for the inspirational videos on the KZbinr topic

But yea MKBHD once said that the worse thing that could happen to a youtuber is a viral video to early, and I can agree. But man looking at your channel you've got sick views, and I agree with you to lower the production quality to maintain a more realistic upload schedule.

I just went for it. In my mind Icelandic is to small of a language (only around 400k people on the earth who speak i it). So since I wanted to reach more people, english was just a natural choice. Sure it can be hard, I don't know all the words, etc, but it's also fun. Having an accent separates me from all of the north american camera channels and it's a way to stand out as well :)

Having uploaded inconcistently for almost 5 months now, totaling about 3 videos and a pile of video raw material that need to be edited I can confirm that there are absolutely no groupies hammering on the door to the studio yet … but: have you actually *tried* flashing your youtube channel page on your phone to the guy or girl at the door of the most happening club in Stockholm to get in? Who knows, it might actually work ;)

Total scam I tell you, now I have to find some other random commenter and buy a proper course - If only somebody could start a channel giving away free tips and tricks and sharing their experience making videos for others to try out, there is a market there for sure, somebody needs to get on that asap.

@@thaticelandicguy Been a fan for a while please keep up the good work. I recently bought your courses on Domestika and hope to start them soon! Trying to learn how to edit first lol.

Anyone doing youtube should consider it as a hobby unless you are able to generate at least 3 times more than what you would generate as opposed to a regular job with your credentials, experience, or education. Remember with KZbin you get no secondary benefits, no pension funds, nothing and you still need to pay taxes. A youtube life is overly propagandanized as being great and wonderful, but it's not.

Do you see yourself doing this in 15 years? Or people putting attention to you at the same level in 15 years?

Idk if people will like me in 15 years, and I don’t know what relationship people will have with KZbin in 15 years. But I can see myself still doing content 100%. Maybe not this exact format, it will probably have changed and evolved. But definitely still creating ☺️
