Waipapa Lighthouse a magic spot. My daughter and I did a motorbike around the lower South Island she loved Waipapa Lighthouse. We were ther late afternoon early evening as the sun set over the sea - magic.

Haha love Weirs beach….been there when busy and almost by myself. Remember some old timer put a flounder net across the tide and anyone looking, was asked if they wanted to help clean the net as it was pulled in, and everyone helping got a good sized flounder or two 👌💯🔥

I imagine there is an abundance of seafood in the area, that place is well protected by the weather, def a lovely out of the way place to park up and enjoy the peaceful area

Thanks Leopards for your great videos of your travels. Brings back many memories when my wife and I travelled all over NZ in our 6 metre motor home, yes even stood on the petrified wood at Curio Bay and many other great spots experienced by you guys . I always felt those were the greatest years of our lives even in our 70’s but unfortunately my wife died in 2016 but I still reminisce of those great days. Your travels have brought back so many memories,Well done, Barry Roach

Love your down to earth and informative travel recollections. Yep we have had people park ridiculously close - like three feet! In a slider whose door was opening and closing multiple times in the night right outside our bedroom window. Makes you want to get some fence standards and put a tape 3 meters around your caravan. 😂
@leopardsgowild10 күн бұрын
it makes no sense why people park so close, when there is a lot of room, often when this has happened to us, the people don't even communicate with us, we wonder if they follow our channel, when they are pulling up so close, but then they don't even say hello, weird...

Another very cool adventure Mike, we love the south coast, its a really wind swept part of NZ. I'm really pleased you brought up about people parking or tenting in your spot , we were at Otama Beach, Coromandel one summer in our caravan, and we'd parked in a one acre paddock, no one else in sight and there was literally 25 or more acres of space for others to camp or park, and when we woke one morning we found a foreign couple had pitched their tent in our site hard up against our caravan. I called it "our conundrum at campsite 59". We enjoyed the space and peace and then people come along and take that space and peace away, like you've had happen, grrrrrr. One of lifes' mysteries, a conundrum indeed.
@leopardsgowild14 күн бұрын
yea mate, i think it's just inconsiderate to park so close to others if there is multiple options. So often we have been parked in spots with loads of room, but people park just an arms span away from us, but then refuse to even say hello back to us when we try to introduce ourselves, seems very strange, that people would park so close and then refuse to engage, I don't get it. lets all spread out people, until there isn't room, then we can all squeeze in.
@madamkiwi109414 күн бұрын
Nice video, we had the same when we were tenting , huge area to camp but we must of had there spot as they were that close the guide ropes overlapped, had a 6 month at the time that cried a bit during the night as they do, they might have got woke up, whoops ,
