The game is testing you. If you get nervous, you go try to balance the car. This happened to me a lot of times. If you try to balance the car, the car will lose control and then you take a jump to your death, or drive agaisnt a wall like a Mustang driver. The solution is, take a deep breath if you're feeling nervous or scared. If you're not nervous, you can turn and not balance the car, Basically you start to know what you're doing. If you're losing control, just brake. It's better to lose speed rather than getting totaled and restart the race with some cash spent.

@@cesartorres9233 yeah kinda but its not really exactly like you said, the assist level (which also heavily affects the difficulty of opponent AI) can be set in game settings before starting a career, important thing being that based on the upgrades your car gets, the opponent AI adjusts their upgrades, top speed and HP to your car, so if u want the full thrill, just use the code UNLOCKALLTHINGS in career menu, load up bunch of money from a game modding program, and buy a pagani zonda f and upgrade it to full t4 parts (or preferably mclaren f1 if u have the 1.1 patch and dlc), or u can also grind t4 parts in racedays on the way to the kings (preferably drag) and pray to get them from random rewards after winning/dominating the racedays

In a nutshell, camera shake during Speed Events are unforgiving, it turns you off, and some corners and bumps in Nevada Highway can literally throw you out of the track into oblivion.

the camera shake is subdues in hood and bumper cams, which makes speed challenge easier to control. also, using a high aero car like the porsche 911 GT3 RS helps keep the car from ending up on its side/roof

Car selection and tuning is taking a huge part in speed races. I used Lamborghini Murcielago w/ my own tune and I'd say it, that car stable as hell like you can just go all out on small bump and do airborne and the car ain't going to wobble a single inch, also Murcielago, despite from being a rear-engined car, it's pretty stable on high speed too (I removed the 399km/h limiter) and the Murcielago literally hitting 405km/h and not even losing grip. So yes, Car selection and tuning is taking huge part in speed races. Apart from that, skill issue.

If you love this Game you should try the NFS Pro Street Pepega Edition. Custom Storyline, new Cars and for example the Speed events are crazy AF with Top Speed up to 600 KM/H or 375 MP/H.

I love the fact you used the PlayStation 2 version of the game as well for this video. But yeah, definitely agreed. I recently replayed this game first on PC, then on PS2 because it's just that good. Admittedly, controllers were tossed in Nevada in particular a few times. But Speed Challenges are always the most amount of fun you can have in any Need for Speed.

When it comes to speed races, I like to imagine that my sensitivity is cracked up to 1000. So I tap the joystick slightly, decreases totals by 50%. I also don't know how I tune my cars, just go with the flow😅

Nevada and some of the Japan tracks are 100% the reason for a lot of totaled cars. I've been doing a yearly playthrough since 2015 I think and those tracks never fail to wreck my cars, steal my girl, pull my pants down, give me a swirly, bang my mom and ruin my day.

Since I play this game with a wheel, the speed tracks are a way more manageable than it was with a controller. Doesn't make it less scary because you will be gripping the wheel like your life depended on it the whole race.

They are definitely not for the faint of heart, but the hardest? Nah. At least Speed Challenge gives you full control over the car, so if it's tuned properly and if you're able to keep it on the road you can get good at it. The drag races in Underground 1 and Most Wanted on the other hand may as well be RNG, imagine speed challenge if it took place on San Francisco's hilly roads with full traffic and the only control you get over your car is being able to (sometimes) switch lanes, it was fucking torture. Anyway, if you think speed challenge is hard on PS2, try playing the 7th gen version. You have to race against 7 other opponents, not just 3, and those things you hit on the side of the road will actually mess up your car.

Nevada Speed Race in the PS2 is a total pain, i gave up after totaling my Viper 30+ times. When i found the PC Version tho, man, things just gotten less frustrating (less because a slight bump can flash your screen with LIGHT DAMAGE and i absolutely hate it)

Dont go full throttle everywhere, especially if you build a car like the Ford GT which is already fast when stock. On top speed races you can cruise inbetween checkpoints and just hammer it when you need to do the high speed checkpoints. Some places the road gets very narrow, learn where to go all out, and where to be cacious and not risk totaling, and youll eventually be fine (im always sweating during these races)

to avoid totaling bunch of times, u need to tune a car, literally i haven't found any other solution to this day. every car has now blueprints of tuning for speed races. believe it or not i found that rx7 pretty suit me. when u tune it well, it goes like its on rails and even do not jump on any nevada jumps

Also from my personal testing. I’ve found the Ford Gt has great grip however suffers to reach top speed and above all else has terrible back end grip making it unpredictable in high speed corners . I personally prefer the Gt on grip tracks were you’re not always at top speed because like stated before it has great grip, and decent low end torque although the gears are really long and can be awkward at certain speeds and cornering. Best all around car imo is the evo X although that car tends to bottom out in certain situations.

Nahh, you ain’t bad, the game’s map is hard and the announcer said it that this is a very dangerous road to drive on at high speeds because it has been a run killer at many times and I totaled my Nissian GTR on this Bullshit Nevada Highway Race, that is the hardest race because you cannot conserve your speed when it is too late when your Xbox 360 or PS3 Controller is so twitchy man, I know you can cheat the game with cars that can help you with events but not this one, this is the worst map to play on…

it really is a tough race, if you don't tune the car and just run it as is (if the car is REALLY fast, the slower the speed the easier it is ofc) but yeah, i think it's the toughest race i ever played through the nfs games for sure

Nah man, most races in Hot Pursuit are harder because the cops will instantly spam every pursuit tech in order to stop you. You're fucking screwed when you encounter those roadblocks unless you have the chance to find the gap and dodge them. Nevada Highway can be beat if you have the right car such as the 911 Turbo, the CCX, or the F1.

I agree i needed some adjusting, which i did do (particularly in the clips with the Viper the settings were more dialed in) but overall yeah if you're actively playing the game it's going to be easier. if you're jumping into the game and going straight into the race, it's very hard. Where as Forza for example, many people could pick that up and easily get a W. just my opinion on it but skill issue is real too, i suck
