"Write for yourself. Edit for the audience.". I don't know why I've never heard that... maybe I was absent that day... but it has already made a huge impact on me just a few minutes later.

I've never seen diana this animated. Its like seeing a highschool jock talk to a shy nerd who has a crush on him, only they have swapped appearences. 😅

I love your questions and I see similarities between mine and your answers. I feel that they were all quite philosophical. For example the question about structurelessness ... In drawing I know that it's about the journey, so perhaps the unifying humanity is a meditative curiosity to be experienced through reading between the lines of the authors implicit statements of what happened. What got us there is what sparks the curiosity, momentum rather than momentary exposure to solutions

On the last point, people try to dissect it in order to try and define what makes a good story thinking that, somehow they can create a formula for art. Cooking is more art than science while baking is more science than art. The reality is less "formulaic" as storytelling is less like baking and more like cooking. The formula is less important than the felt delivery and the instinct of telling a good story is more felt out rather than "gamed". On the question of character, you vacillated between multiple definitions of the term unable to settle on one and the issue got muddied as a result. The term is a generality and meant to encompass whatever your subject might be without excluding any person, creature or amphromorphized object that might be used in your story. It's rather antiseptic and used when one is discussing an analytic approach to storytelling or analyzing the finer aspects of a story much like a scientist might refer to species by scientific names rather than what the layman would call them. It's shop talk...or perhaps "workshop talk" might be a better description and meant to remove assumptions about the subject when discussing them.
