@@CurtissKingTV I echo his exact statement man. The advice at the end, I really can relate to also. I remember them days when I'd binge watch your videos learning everything I could staying up to 5, 6, 7 in the morning from the night before just cranking out tracks. As a DIYer, I've learned that the journey is the most satisfying.

I can tell you, people don't want to help if you're OG, either. I've been making games for 40 years (yes, 40 years... but nobody talks about how a Black man's been there since day-one, but that's another story) and nobody wanted to help me when I started, except my mom. And now, 40 years on, people don't want to help, either. Now, they're like, "well... you're OG, you don't NEED help." 🙄 What you said about "if I could clone..." hit. My advice is help and have people on your team, but always remember YOU can be your own team; past, present and forever.

THANK YOU curtiss ! really needed this motivation and 100% agree on what ya saying homie because when i was 20 yo i did not have the wisdom and life experience i do now , also my bad i been awol just been hitting the practice EXTREMELY hard as a rookie i train everyday so far big homie so good almost done with my next composition i make ALL my beats from scratch so it takes longer however as a rookie producer / DYIer its going to benifit me eventually, as is i learned my chords ect. by practicing already thanks again Curtiss

As a DIYer that’s been at this music thing seriously for the last 5 years, and off and on for 15, this resonates with me completely. On my 27th birthday, I had an anxiety attack for the first time because I couldn’t get a song done that I said to my followers I would drop that day. It was my first edm track. I remember saying to myself after taking a break, “you can’t get anything done.” This phrase kept echoing in my mind until a feeling of blacking out and hyperventilation began to wash over me. I thought I was dying. Luckily & sadly enough, my ex was with me that day and let me know I was having anxiety attack and to just lay down and breath. The anxiety attack passed and my ex left after letting me know that she was seeing someone else. I had a long talk in the shower with God that day and ever since then, the old me was no more. If I could say something to my younger self it would be to be gentler on myself as well. I would say that no one cares and that’s good thing so don’t be so serious, have fun. And lastly, I was say to get ready for the long haul as well because this music thing is a commitment that is thankless until it isn’t.

I feel like Russ. I Produced for 7 years, And just got the urgency to say " Now " Ive always felt like I was born to make some type of music. So I am now, a recording artist, Producer, Mix Professional and Engineer. As well as Marketer and Promoter, but I can never feel like im doing good in all areas, I have to deligate. I want so see ( if not myself WHEN i make it as a DIY ) more of these artists rise up.

The biggest challenge for indie rappers is that how do you find all the contacts in the music industry yourself that you need to advance in your career? For example, in Finland, you need to know the journalists of the radio channels in order for them to play your music. That's why it's really hard for indie rappers and indie artists to get their music played on the radio. 📻🥰🎙

"The problem is, is Russ really missing something? That is the question, to be honest. Let's not forget that the music industry is a business. Do people in the industry actually have friends? Business partners, sure, but friends!? He may have missed out on millions, but on the other hand, he owns himself. It's a price to pay. You don't get the benefits of the machine while going against the machine. A lot of the time, these co-signs are simply people praising you so you can eventually sign with their label and use you without any intention of making you popular. Russ also needs to remember that many of these artists would pay millions to be in his place."

Russ is white!?!?!? I never saw that as a valid reason but it’s a cover up for the fact Russ been speaking some deep truth for awhile. He’s known for rizzing up the ladies but deeper you get into his music you see that’s he very aware and isn’t afraid to speak on the things that have other artist bound. They cant approach him and show consistent love beyond the validation he speaks on.
