I didn’t agree with all of what she says but I don’t think it is as simple as insecurity as much as wanting to feel like a normal person, since you are always taller than everybody else and on top of that you are female and people expect you to be much shorter than you are. Sexual dimorphism doesn’t apply to tall woman or short (5’3 or less) men. It is about comfort, feeling like a normal couple, not having a huge height difference, mechanics not the same. Just like I know of a 5’2 guy with his female 5’0 partner, I know of a tall girl 6’0 with her 6’4 partner, both parties should be free to choose what makes them fulfill their desires. The woman who was so protective teaching her daughter to not be used for sex and not be promiscuous. I think she is that way because in her youth she was probably promiscuous. So many women use sex to secure to lure a man into a relationship rather than securing the commitment beforehand. Then even when the men have no obligation to commit to her she feels used when they don't. Because women don't take accountability she has to create a fictitious belief system that doesn't make any sense like how "men aren't capable of love". So that she has a belief system to teach her daughter on the dangers of promiscuity. I feel like that first couple interviewed who had been together for 3 years is the ideal traditional relationship that many men want. if a man plans to have a family he shouldn't "give all money to charity and live more simple life" because it wouldn't be prudent for his state of life. as a (potential) husband his first responsibility would be to support his own family. that or course doesn't mean excess or needless luxury but he should be prudent about it. at the very least, instead of giving to charity, make a fund for a future kid etc. if a man is single and wishes to remain so, then if he wants, he can give everything to the poor and live ascetic life. so it depends on the responsibilities of the state of life. again, the virtue of prudence.
