I think the Titans will draft him and he'll be the 4th or 5th QB to go and that is even a steal. Today's NFL is also about being able to run the ball well and Hooker is a better runner than Dobbs. Without the injury imo, probably top 3 to go.

@@shootymcglocktoter1352 Nah cuz, I disagree. Look at the yardage Hooker had in his first season in 21. Dobbs had this lanky run about him and wasn't a cutter like Hooker. I think Dobbs has developed his run some since he went to the NFL but Hooker has the yards and the moves. Hooker is basically a running back that can throw.

THE LIONS GOT THE STEAL OF THE DRAFT. Getting Hendon Hooker was a steal. A hard worker with impeccable character. A great leader whose teammates love him. He led a top rated SEC team to an 11-1 season. He was injured near the end of the season. Watch last years Tennessee vs Alabama game. He played unbelievable. After the Heisman Trophy winner was announced they revealed ALL the votes. Hendon Hooker got the 5th most votes. Very close numbers barely behind #4. Had they invited 5 players rather than 4 he would have been at the ceremony. The Detroit Community are going to love this guy. He can sit behind Goff and learn about NFL. Age is not a big deal and getting more common in NFL. Hooker just turned 25. Will Levis is 24 and turns 25 in few months. Stetson Bennett is 25 and will be 26 when season starts.

I think he’s underrated as a prospect with the caveat that his recovery from the injury goes well. I see a tremendous amount of upside with Hooker and see no issue with age. He has a requisite arm talent to go with a steady demeanor in the pocket. With that said, he needs a year of development/acclimation in my opinion. Going to a team with an established vet could be great for him. A team like Minnesota as an example of an ideal situation.

Personally, I would draft Hooker, but if I were a coach, I would put him as a backup for a season or two. During his first year, I would want him to focus on healing the ACL, while studying playbook and film, as well as the typical drop backs at practice. His second year, would focus a little more on physical training. I want him to train his legs in the weight room, and if he's lucky, he'll get a few snaps in the season. If the main starting QB does pretty bad, he'll have to sit out or be released and Hooker would come in. If our starter is great, I could either trade Hooker or I'll keep him as a reliable backup. If Hooker doesn't make an impact, he'll probably be benched unless his contract is big, then he'll be released. As far as the "too old" thing, I really wouldn't care if my QB would last 20 years or 2 years, as long as he makes an impact. TLDR; Hooker should be drafted, but should sit out at first to heal his ACL and work out around that same area.

Even IF either of them turned into long term starters in the NFL, which I don’t see either being, a 6-7 year from Hooker would be more valuable to a NFL team. I cant believe people would sleep on Hooker until the 3rd round. His accuracy, poise, and quarterback IQ are phenomenal and every bit as good as Stroud or Young. I think he's just outright better than Levis or Richardson in every untangible way and what they hold over him in terms of physical attributes he overtakes them easily with his decision making and overall quality of play. His leadership and ability to rally his team around him and make them believe in him, in my opinion, is unequaled by the other quarterbacks in this draft. His stock was bought by his players and the UT fans the day he set foot on campus and instantly brought their program from the SEC sewer back to elite status. When you can do that your first year in NCAAS toughest division...that says a lot. The only quality that keeps him from being a "1st round, starts next year" player, to me, is his footwork and where he's at in his rehab. That "standing flat-footed 5-ft behind the line of scrimmage" stuff's gotta go.

Three biggest complaints are more like minor concerns in the eyes of the NFL. The Titans are giving him some serious thought as well as other teams he's met at the Senior Bowl and from various NFL scouts. His age, imo, this concern is laughable when we see 44 year old QB's. Twenty-five isn't much of a difference than if he was 22 and got a walk-on contract. Dobbs is only a year or two older but wasn't what Hooker is going in. The injury was far from a complete ACL tear. These injuries now days are set backs and rarely have caused players over the last 5 years to never fully recover their full physical ability. The third is another silly fear. TN's system is very complex at the QB position. The entire offense depends on his ability to read D's, spread the offense formation as well as be accurate with the ball. Running ability is a plus for this offense but if the QB is elite in passing, it becomes less a need for the QB to run the ball. This is why Heupel has mainly had pocket passer QB's vs dual QB's. Likely to be the 4th or 5th QB drafted due to the injury but most likely will go higher than SB. You can build an offense around Hooker due to his abilities and skillset where you really would have a harder time trying to build one around SB. Thanks for the video, just don't agree. Hooker was the best QB this season all around and missing two games with an injury does not change that.

I looked into Dilfers draft class and he was drafted in the first round and almost no other QB of note was taken. 6'4" 218 lbs-ish Dual threat QB that would be an excellent 3ed rd. grab. His transition to a NFL game will also take a year at least. He has the physical tools (granting he's fine after the acl injury), so if he falls into a situation where he can learn from a really good OC/QBC for a year or so... then he could be dangerous. I wouldn't waste a 1st rd or a 2ed on the chance that he can't pick up on your scheme or can't ever move the same (I imagine his injury will heal up fine though). Take him in the 3ed and let him sit and learn for a few. He's athletic AF!😅

This was before I realized he was already 25...😒. Not saying he's not worth interest but, 27-28 before he's good to go? They get 2 maybe 3 yrs and they're in need again 🤨. Just saying.

Should do coaches too, like a what went wrong vid on Oklahomas head coach or the insane rise of Harbaugh at Michigan, maybe a insane comeback of S Carolina with Rattler, insane rise of Washington under Penix and Deboer, just a few examples I think you would nail these out of the park with the way you put these together.

I don't know if he will make it at the next level or not, but at least I know he was actually good in college, which is more than I can say for Richardson or Levis. I'd rather have Hendon Hooker in the second round than waste a top-10 pick on a workout warrior.

what i think will happen is he will be a 2nd or 3rd round pick but he will be a starter. A team that would fit hooker in my opinion is the jets because they are a quaterback away from being in the playoffs. I think Hooker is a great man who will be really a great value qb in the later rounds and could potentially be the steal of the draft, but only time will tell.

I would spend a 3rd rounder on Hendon Hooker if I were the Eagles. Hooker is like Jalen Hurts but taller and a better developed passer. Yeah, he'll already be 25 coming out of college but I feel Hooker has too much ability to pass up. If Hurts goes down to injury, the offense won't have to change AT ALL! Hell yeah!!!!
@Sim_Sams
@Sim_Sams Жыл бұрын
Phew...well thank goodness the Eagles dont employ you to make personnel decisions because this sounds like a worse idea than Greedo shooting first. I mean really...come on...Philly has that kind of year and you'd spend a top-100 pick on a backup QB?? 🤔

This may be controversial but I have an idea of what kind of player he will be. I believe with the right system just about any qb can succeed. If he does not find the right team in the nfl, I think he will have a similar career as a former Hokie. I believe Hendon hooker is the new Tyrod Taylor or Geno Smith. Wish him all the best. I look forward to seeing what he can do and hope he proves me wrong.

Raiders should draft him in the 2nd round let him compete with Stidham when he's ready to play he'll be in a great situation to succeed since we're stacked with weapons I think he'll be able to start for us rather quickly all he has to do is not turn the ball over which he does extremely well & get the ball in our playmakers hands & just manage the game, when things break down he can use his legs
