The way this program was progressing during the 2004, 05, 06 Seasons, EVERYONE truly believed that there would be no end in sight to their dominance. They were Alabama BEFORE Alabama. In reality, it was basically just 3 unbelievable Recruiting Classes in a row who did most of the winning in those years. After they left, and after the NCAA dropped the Hammer on USC for major rules violations, it all ended almost immediately. As things stand right now, Los Angeles and California in general are not nearly as desirable a destination anymore. As a life long Notre Dame fan, I NEVER count the Trojans out... they absolutely WILL be back eventually. However, I don't think they will be a Top 4/Playoff Team for at least a few years. I just know this: Teams had better enjoy this current low point that USC has been experiencing (a 2 loss season is a disappointment for USC! THAT is the kindof program they are), because once they get back on track, they will be unstoppable again.

@@Rideacapitaa Yeah, it seems that around every 20 to 25 years or so, the NCAA chooses a target to absolutely obliterate with fines, penalties, and unlimited embarrassment through the media. They wait until so many Programs are out of control, they make an example of 1 of the more prominent Teams in the Country, while simultaneously ignoring every other School. It really doesn't seem to matter to the NCAA _what_ the infractions are, just that the Program they choose to destroy is popular enough, AND is usually in the midst of dominating the rest of the College Football world. I am a life long Notre Dame fan, and I do not hate USC. I dislike them on Game Day against the Irish, for sure, but never an outright hatred. Even during those unparalleled dominant years, the "Bush Push", the National Championships, etc... I have a healthy respect for the Trojans. What the NCAA did to them was a f*cking embarrassment. Looking around at all of the other programs that were not only breaking *multiple* rules, they were doing it BRAZENLY! He'll, look at Florida during that exact same time period! How many were arrested...? 44?!? I mean, FFS! Anyway, it's USC. The rest of the College Football world better enjoy these years that they aren't still dominating, because it really is just a matter of time. It will take just 1 Recruiting Class... Just 1. Then, when that Class performs exceedingly well, then more and more Recruits will once again flock to Southern Cal. The only other thing I can really think that USC might need is a true, Superstar Coach. It will happen. Just a matter of time.

DC Todd Orlando could "SAVE" HC Paris Helton's job, but at this point with so many 4-5 stars early departure for the NFL and so many key players gone, the Defensive Line will be the Achilles heel with DT Brandon Pili out for season and transfer DT ismael Sopher out for a while with injury in the spring and likely require surgery... With SO many key pieces gone, sorry to say but even DC Todd Orlando can't save this season or HC Paris Helton's job this year... Loser HC Paris Helton is definitely GONE during or after this season!! Helton should polish up his Resume so he'll find another job or the way USC overpaid him, He can retire "if" He wants to.. So that's a TON of BEEF cakes to replace in the Trenches: Jay Tufele, Marlon Tuipulotu, Connor Murphy, Celeb Tremblay, Jay Toia, etc... USC Schedule looks easy without Alabama, Washington, Oregon on it, but it's actually very Tough!! i see Several Losses here...... Loss * NOTRE DAME @ Notre Dame.......I'm sure Most will Agree here... Loss * Colorado @ Colorado.........supposed to be PAC-12 South Champs but didn't have enuff players for the PAC-12 Championship Game vs OREGON so USC went instead of the Buffs. KARL DORRELL is GOOD!! Remember he UPSET Pete Carroll's #2 USC team(chance for NC game)..... Loss * UCLA.........will surprised most people with this pick but Chip Kelley doing good things over there..... 4th LOSS could come from ARIZONA, ARIZONA STATE, BYU, or CALI BEARS given USC spent a LOT of Energy and Effort trying to beat Stanford and UTAH, and will prolly have a few key injuries to finish up the season with AZ, ASU, CAL, or BYU...... So, i have USC beating UTAH and STANFORD but lose a few players from a Thin Squad to injuries from those 2 Physical Teams.... Considering USC lost a lot of DL to Draft and transfer portal, Jay Tufele, Marlon Tuipulotu, etc... And big loses from RB Markese Stepp, RB Stephen Carr, WR AmonRa StBrown, WR Tyler Vaughns, OL Vera Tucker, S Talanoa Huffanga, DB/CB Olaijah Griffin, DL Connor Murphy, LB Palaia Gaoteote, LB Malik McClain, WR Munir McClain, DL Celeb Tremblay, DL Jay Toia..... Seeing how HC Paris Helton's "incompetence" at Developing 4-5 stars athletes, and this mass exodus of 4-5 stars players from 2021 will certainly play a key role in a LOSING SEASON!! 8-4 record or maybe 7-5......A lot of Starters/Backups gone, this very "THIN" group will be tested and STANFORD AND UTAH will certainly create some injuries within this very "THIN" group of guys...USC Backups are very inexperience, or NO game experience at all...

What a negative review. WE have a DC with new defensive coaches and players ready to go. Does Vic Soto count for nothing. What about the No. 1 Special Teams coach in the nation. Helton hired him. We have a punter with 46 yard average last year and who can place it within the ten and out of bounds. Have you noticed the speed for the players selected for Special TEams. That leaves the offense. Which other Pac12 offensive coach would you trade for one of ours? You don't like our running backs? What about our QB. So that comes down to the line. Count how many linemen we have, count'em You mean we won't have 4 linemen and back-ups ready to go? Why should I read such negativity?
@jimbo46123 жыл бұрын
USC does not have 4 lineman on offense. Courtland Ford is a RS FS and will have to start at Right tackle. Then consider USC trying to go with a 85-90 play per game pace. Imagine what that does to the O line which is already depleted. USC's Qb;s are going to be running for their lives and Slovis with concussions already cant take more

Nah.. If we have a bad year we will lose two maybe three games at most ONLY because we will get outcoached like we have since CH took over. We have the best quarterback in the pack 12 and probably four receivers from this team will be in the NFL. We were ranked SEVEN national recruiting class this year. There is PLENTY of ammunition. Running game does need improvements. But it’s mostly playcalling and putting our skilled position players in the right spots at the right times. We have plenty of talent in the backfield as well.

Look, its pretty easy to blame Helton. But don't be a fan boy here. Give me REAL professional analysis, that belongs on ESPN, or don't say anything at all. What is Helton not doing? He brought in Graham Harrell as OC. R u saying Harrell , wasn't the right choice? Or not enough? It's harder to make the right choice. And if we need a celebrity coach like Urban Meyer, how much is the skill on the player part? Yes, we would all like Phil Jackson as are coach, in basketball, but who is a better coach that is not a superstar, and how to prove it? My pick was Chris Petersen, from Boise State, now Washington Athletic director.
@jimbo46123 жыл бұрын
Helton refuses to build a offensive line and has brought in three different coaches as the o line coach. Might count up how many other coaches he has fired as well verses taking the blame himself. If you want to be a Air raid program why bring in Tim Drevno who is a run orientated coach. Sorry but helton flies by the seat of his ass and makes uo excuses as he goes. He should of been tossed after the Blow out lost to IOWA in the 2019 holiday bowl. USC took a beating and Helton has not mentally recovered. This was proven when he played a crappy 4-3 Oregon team and lost. Raw talent is only get USC so far and Helton is a ball and chain USC needs to cut free from.

@sector7833 жыл бұрын

@@sector783 since when do Hardcore conservatives not like money and winning? Cali is not 100% left wing socialist liberals either, some of our worst laws came from the granddaddy Conservative himself (like our gun control came from Governor R. Reagan at the time). I would add prestige, but we have lost some of that throughout the years. Once again, 5-0 record was shaky (for reasons already listed before) and we were manhandled by the *2nd* best team in the Northern conference for the championship game. Re-watch the game, that defense looked legit against us, half the team is from CA. (looked like big bro's vs lil' bro's) and it would of ended 31-17 (or worse), if UO didn't start subbing in the backups in the 4th quarter of the game. Oregon went to the Fiesta bowl, we went... nowhere (I know "they" decided not to go, but they were offered a lower tier bowl). As for the outdoors and hunting, ya, a little tougher to do in LA, planning and scheduling out trips, but its not like Seattle is a small town in the country, easier yes. Drive out to the same spots or fly out to anywhere you like for that season. We added some coaches from UT, they came over because they were doing so well there? We added transfer players from TX because they were starters there? I don't live in CA. anymore, but the local team is 3/4 from CA, as most of the Pac-12 teams now. I wish USC well, but we're going to get more of the same, without a major change. Also want to add that we almost got Bob Stoops, but they wouldn't let him bring in his own staff, wasn't the $$$ but the personal.

@@herbertgomez4112 First Coach O is in a law suit as a codefendant with LSU with allegations that he did nothing regarding an alleged rape by a LSU RB. Will USC hire a new head coach? Yes and here's why. The Pac-12 hired a better Commissioner named George Kliavkoff, the former sports and entertainment director for MGM Grand, and he plans on promoting the PAC -12 with more lucrative broadcasting and upgrades including bigger bowls. USC simply cant afford to miss out on the opportunities at stake playing cheapstake, unwilling to hire a head coach and finishing outside the top 25.
