Rui represents the case of a child obtaining superpowers: It will NEVER end well, because kids have extremely simplistic views of the world that would be considered tirannical or vile in an adult. Kids are very egotistical by nature, because they usually don't understand the importance of respecting other people's wishes, property or health, and they haven't developed the self-restrain a person needs when they get emotional. Learning to let go, to understand and respect others, and to be patient toward your own direction in life, are things that you only obtain as you grow up, but Rui got stuck in a child state forever.

I think one important thing to remember is that once someone changes into a demon, they become cruel and bloodthirsty regardless of how they were before. They literally don't have any control over that. Nezuko is the exception and hence why everyone is surprised by her behavior. Hell even she attacked Tanjiro at first. When Muzan turned that random man into a demon to create a diversion he instantly became feral and attacked his wife. Its the same with Rui, his biggest mistake was agreeing to Muzan to become a demon but then again he was a kid, who was so sick that he couldn't leave ever his house so even that is somewhat understandable. After that it was all Muzan's demon blood.

It's really lovely that the show "humanizes" these demons almost every end of their arcs/lives. I like that they mentioned or wondered if they'll feel sorry for Rui after his back story. Just for your info, “Hashira” 柱 means “pillar” in Japanese. And the “u” in Kizuki is pronounced… but it’s just that when it’s said quickly, it’s hard to hear. Many of the vowel sounds are said in a quick or shortened form than you imagine in English. You have a strong grasp of everyone’s perspective and don’t let your emotions get the better of you, unlike some other reactors have. ^_^

In discussion point of Carlie, she mentions not liking the part where Rui's parents went to hell with him etc etc. Of course we probably all agree that they shouldn't because the parents haven't done wrong. I think it was more of a way to show that they do love Rui and will continue to stay with him even in hellish afterlife? Since Rui claims his image of a parental love is for parents to protect their child like in the story. Rui wants to be with his parents in the end but knows they cannot be together because they will go different paths so maybe them staying together is when him finally realizing that his parents have true love for him because they make a sacrifice of their life similar to the story he heard?

But in the manga the rest of the Moons, except Akaza (the demon that appears at the end of the Train arc) and maybe (and a real strong maybe) other one called Kokushibu, are all pieces of shit even before Muzan. Hi! I'm not someone who takes the time to comment, sorry about that, but I want to tell you that I love your reactions. You are my favorite reaction channel and I love how you take the time to comment and theorize. Regarding the theme of the second season and the movie, I think it's an incredible idea to do a poll on Patreon. Personally, I recommend that you watch the movie, Mugen Train became the highest grossing anime movie in history dethroning Your Name and Spirited Away. I saw the movie and then I saw that arc again in the first episodes of the second season and I think it's a thousand times better to see the movie because it gives you an incredible experience and you feel that what you see is an incredibly done all in one. I remember when they announced that the first part of the second season would be a retelling of 6 chapters of the movie and I didn't like it very much since I feel that the first decision they had made (to make the entire arc a movie) was the best decision, because Mugen Train, for me, is an individual piece. Anyway, let's wait for the results of the poll, I know I'm going to enjoy a lot whether you react to the movie or the 6 episodes. Finally, I want to tell you about the Jujutsu Kaisen movie, it occupies the fifth place in the ranking of the highest grossing anime movies in history and it is relatively new! I definitely recommend watching the movie first then the entertainment district arc after. You can still watch the other episodes as it's there's little more story before the events of the movie but ultimately they're both the same thing with very minor changes.

Hopefully this will help for pronouncing "Kizuki": き= Ki (pronounced "kee", like the word "key") ず= Zu (Pronounced "zoo") き= Ki (like before) The "Zu" in this context I think is sometimes not fully pronounced (with the "oo" sound being either silent or nearly silent), though from my understanding- this can be a preference based on the user. More formal and feminine people often will pronounce this "whispering" vowel more, and this word in particular may be different from others with it (like desu for example, which almost always has the "oo" dropped). I'm still early in my learning of Japanese though so if anyone else could provide more insight, it could be helpful :)
