Hi Jimmy! Very spooky story indeed! Those old boys were aware they might see this old fellow, but so huge and without legs?!? I can see why they never went back! Still, with so much development going on now, I have to wonder if the land is still untouched? Maybe my love of old places that feel like they want people to live there is because of spirits like this fellow haunting others! I know I've been to houses or places in the woods, even entire city blocks, where you can just feel that something's not right, only to find out later that something horrible happened there or that owners refused to give up land they had lost. I have no fear of such things but I do sometimes feel sorry for them. Not for this one though! I've no compassion for anything nasty or threatening! Thanks for the very cool story! Happy Holidays to you and your family! Y'all take care now! May God bless you and yours! 😊

I like these stories that take place way back yonder in the woods. I say the land once belonged to Kin of the old man and he was guarding it as he was the last that could do so.
