As scientific as the Ovilus sounds, it's still fairly illogical...how does a change in temperature, for example, equate to words? @Floppuccino2 ай бұрын
@@AlsebraYeah, I recently read someone describe the Ovilus as the "just trust me bro" of ghost hunting equipment, and I think that sums it up accurately.
@Alsebra2 ай бұрын
@@Floppuccino, exactly. It's even hard to take photographic and loud audio "evidence" seriously when someone adamantly claims that there was "definitely nothing there" or "we didn't hear *that* when we were there"...that's not how audio or photo equipment works. I forget if it was on one of the debriefs or on something else where the scientific expert stated that this sort of stuff starts out logically and you're following along just fine...until a leap is made and it goes from logical to illogical in one step. It's absolutely fine to be a believer (hell, I believe in spirits myself, but that's because I've seen and experienced things that totally defy the natural way of things...hearing someone coming downstairs (12 stairs) and walking down the hallway towards you only to not be visible isn't exactly a natural occurrence, ya know?), but once you start relying on pseudoscience as your proof and/or you stop looking at the "evidence" from a scientific/logical standpoint and leaping to conclusions (a growl being a ghost instead of thinking there's an animal around, for example), you're actually hurting your own point of view...and it seems that a lot of the believers here have already taken that plunge.

After I stepped away from all of the big ghost hunting TV shows, this was one of a small number of shows still recommended by skeptics and I’m hooked. I love the humor and the believer skeptic combo. Before I started watching these guys years ago, I wholeheartedly believed in ghosts. Also Shane had the biggest character development I;ve ever seen - him getting a bit of a shookt from the ovilus 😂It really gives us an honest glimpse into how Shane would react if an actual ghost was on his tail lol
@STSGuitar16 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, honestly I think Ryan doesn't fully believe in ghosts anymore since they've done this series (nor do I believe in them lol). He has either become completely desensitized to the idea that he may be interacting with a ghost or just doesn't believe in them as strongly as he did when they started with buzzfeed. I mean, that ouija board session is pretty telling, too. In most ghost hunting shows that board would've been spelling all sorts of things, but, as always, the Ghoul Boys give you the real life experience and don't fake anything or exaggerate the reality of the situation. Having a complete skeptic in Shane on their show is something that every ghost channel should have. It's good to have at least one reality-grounded people on your team, but many are just full of people who will think ghosts cause every little creak and crack of a old-ass building somewhere. That's why Ryan and Shane are the best in the game, imo.
