I'm not particularly introverted I just can't abide modernist, hyper-consumerist, maniacal places pumping loud music devoid of positive ideas and people stuffing their faces on sugar and alcohol. I love a bustling traditional and community-focused town, and easy access to a natural environment seems to be a fairly basic requirement for good mental health.

Father Damian real name Jozef De Veuster was from Belgium was elected to greatest Belgian of all time. He gave his life for the people of Molokai who nobody wanted to help because of their serious illness. These people were all deported to the island of Molokai and abandonned, so for him to came there all the way from Europe not to ever return again to his family and dedicate his whole life to help the people there is just incredible. Just strange that his home country Belgium isn't mentioned on any information board. Me as a Belgian found your video very interesting to watch

Wow, thank you for this great look at Molokai! I've been lucky enough to visit Kauai, Maui, and Oahu, but have always wondered about the less-traveled islands of Molokai and Lanai. I gotta say, Molokai is much more lush than I had envisioned and a very beautiful and unspoiled Hawaiian experience for sure. I really like the place you're staying there as well. The beach you walked out to from your room in the previous video looked pretty epic. But is it swimmable? It looked like it might have been too rocky and rough for swimming, but maybe just not this time of year.

You missed out on the best part of Molokai, the valley and waterfalls. I met a native Hawaiian at the valley, we went fishing from the shore, gone hunting wild pig with his pack of dogs, and he took me to the waterfalls. I guess him and his family just go do wild camping every summer in the valley, and they take tourist on excursion to make extra money.

I can tell you why Moloka'i is not visited. I stayed there for 3 months. It's difficult to get to. You need a rental car. If your car doesn't have 4WD it's hard to visit all parts of the island. It is expensive, as is most of Hawii. Many of the beaches are unsafe to swim at. It's a very beautiful place, but for a few days as a tourist, it isn't as fun as say going to Kauai. I was in a condo on the north of the island. To go shopping or get gas you have to go south to Kaunakakai. I think there have been various attempts to popularlize the island but, as on the north side, total fail. There are a few "ghost resorts". The indigenous population doesn't like turning the island into O'ahu. You have to respect that.

i didn't realize hawaii is almost half way between aus and the us. Even more reason for me to go there for a holiday. I would like to have a holiday and check out america without actually going there, oahu would be awesome 😁

Gabriel - This comment / request is not about this video (which is great, as usual😊). I don’t recall you ever doing a video about sleeping on long flights. You’ve been on hundreds over the years and I’d love to know your tips and tricks concerning how to get the best sleep during these arduous long hauls. Thanks for all you do! I hope you are enjoying your time here in Northern California and on your drive to Reno. We are definitely having some weather, that’s for sure!
@GabrielTravelerVideos11 ай бұрын
I don't have too much to offer on that one. My best tip for getting some sleep on a flight is to hope that nobody is sitting in the seat next to you and preferably in both seats next to you. Otherwise it really depends on the person. Some people can apparently sleep sitting up, but that doesn't work for me. I usually don't get any sleep on flights even if I'm super tired. Another tip is to try and book flights that depart around noon so that you get a full night's sleep and then are fully awake through most of the flight. But sometimes the best or cheapest flight leaves at an odd time, late at night or early in the morning, in which case I will probably start the flight already tired and it won't be much fun. Basically I just show up for the flight and deal with the circumstances, whatever they might be. If it's a long flight then movies and wine always help.

Hi Gabriel, a nice gateway island for someone who only wants peace and quiet. If they had a few more towns with stores and businesses, it would be more attractive. The guy with the coconut should have just gotten coconut water like yourself. It's almost like an exclusive island, I'm sure those who live there prefer it that way.

Ye it looks nice, but coming from Europe its just way too expensive unfortunately. However, I wish the Canary Islands still looked like this, basically the "European Hawaii". The cheap mass tourism there really puts a stain on it. But at least almost everyone in the EU can afford to go there.
