Playing an instrument can absolutely be meditative. Get yourself a keyboard or acoustic guitar and just doodle around with one idea like this for an hour, and it feels really good.

@@Junglesmells You don’t have to try and make me sound like an idiot to make yourself feel smarter or more sophisticated. Almost all of the themes and ideas in modern music have been around for hundreds of years. I don’t study classical music or music history. I just made a connection to a band I listen to. What you should try next time is leaving a comment that says, “yeah it does sound like something Radiohead uses, but the idea has actually been around for x years and you can see hear it in so and so’s piece here or this other piece here”. Then you would actually using your “musical knowledge” to help expand it to other people.

I only recently learned the term "plagal cadence", and now I know the word for harmony technique I've known and loved for a long time. My favorite is the major IV followed by the minor IV.

Each one of these chords evoke a particular emotional feeling. The Bb/F is very solemn sounding. Very much a Gospel/Contemporary Christian vibe. The Bb min/F is more challenging. I bit mysterious. The C7/F has a JS Bach/Catholic Church kinda vibe. It is fun experimenting with slash chords like this!!
