THE HEART OF HARK'UN is a six-part fantasy adventure, first broadcast on BBC Radio 5 back in 1991; it's somewhat ambitious and unusually reflective of the kind of D&D-style fantasy adventure that young fantasy enthusiasts of the early 1990s would have known well. This is largely because of the writers - Jamie Thomson in particular was a major figure in the fantasy gamebook craze of the 1980s and 1990s, co-writing several highly popular series such as 'The Way of the Tiger' and 'Falcon'. Sure enough, 'The Heart of Hark'un' is set in The Fabled Lands, a fantasy world that later showed up in a whole series of Thomson's books...

Again , another very enjoyable adventure . I notice a kinda theme running through your uploads , in that they're all , (so far) , generally... 'family friendly' - clean cut - 'nice' productions . After around 6 - 8 hrs of listening , I don't remember any swearing , graphic violence , ott sexual shenanigans etc. ; and , from memory , this continues with the majority of the dramas I've not listened to , (here) , like , The Jungle Book , Count of Monte Cristo etc. I would say you're more dashing than dark - more Errol Flynn than Rutger Huer... Perhaps this is not intentional ; but , it's not a bad thing to know roughly what to expect prior to listening . As much as I love dark , dangerous psychological thrillers , very black comedy , I equally enjoy "anything...!?" - bit of a broad statement - "many" things , that land me in a happy fictional space - sooo... on that note , you tick those boxes . - bit long winded...

Totally understand - in fact this is my second channel. The other one (Mysterious Magpie) is for dark stuff (ghost stories, murders, monsters etc). I wanted to do a channel of adaptations of children's books, and because they tend to be fantasies I figured I could expand the channel and make it fantasy in general - and once you're doing fantasy it makes it very tempting to throw in anything with swordfights and adventure. So yes, this channel is intended to be Family Friendly in the main - clean, honest fun as it were.
