I had this for about 4 months and was a little bit scared seeing all the comments on the internet of people who couldn't find a cure. I went to my GP and it turned out to be caused by fluid on the ear from a chronic sinus infection. I had also woken up every morning for 6 months like I had a cold and just put up with it.. My doctor put me on prescription sinus spray and it worked! I don't have the pulse in my ear anymore. It took about 2+ months to get better but it's gone! So check your sinus. I had no sinus pain so I had no idea! I wanted to come back and share this because I hadn't seen anyone talk about sinus issues.

This just started with me on Sunday and it’s so irritating . My doctor thinks it’s fluid on my ear as well and gave me nose spray and allergy pill . I hope the nose spray works . Wow it took 2 months with using the nose spray ? I’m glad there’s hope that this will go away .

Thank you for The suggestion to check your possible sinus issues. I’ve had a lot of sinus problems in the past and I just heard this whooshing sound in my left ear this evening and it has totally freaked me out. It has gone away now but yes, definitely a strange sound and if you look online, it does get scary. I’m trying Simply Saline now and I’ll see if that helps.

I’m glad you found peace with this condition. I get this when I’m having a bad dream. My heart rate is up and I wake up hearing this. It’s like there’s a clock in my ear. Before this, I have had tinnitus. I had a CT scan done and they didn’t find anything. My stress is at an all time high and I’ve been clenching my jaw. ENT said it could be stress. I Try to ignore the tinnitus. I try to not over think the situation as well. I always think the worst. Idk if I should get an mri or try to power through this stressful time in my life. I do lots of breathing techniques and listen to binaural beats. Idk if this is helping, but it can’t hurt?

I've had this sound for ten years. it started when i was 17 and I'm 27 now. I was told for years it was an ear infection or that it was just in my head. I'm from Mexico, healthcare is free here, but it's not really that good, so I had to find other doctors who still found nothing (not even the ear infection i supposedly had) and i feel like I just wasted my money. Had to look it up online to know what it could might be. I can hear it mostly all the time, but it gets worse when I try to concentrate or when I exercise. I've let it pass for years, but it recently got worse. I am glad you found your solution. And I hope everyone who has not does.

I've been hearing my heartbeat on my right ear for the past 2 months. This happens when I exercise or when I'm doing any physical activity which involves me to move quick. Also, I can hear my heartbeat when I stand up from a seated position. The heartbeat lasts for about 8-10 seconds before it fades away. The heartbeat in my right ear is very strong especially when I'm doing intense physical exercise and it goes away once I stop exercising. Also, as mentioned previously, I can hear my heartbeat in my right ear when I stand up from a seated position. The heartbeat here isn't as strong as the one triggered by exercise and it lasts for 8-10 seconds. During other times, I never hear it. I don't have a difficult sleeping unlike most others as I don't really hear anything. But it still bothers me a lot especially during intense physical exercise as it serves as a distraction when I'm working out. Post workout, I end up overthinking about it and get stressed out. I just want to know if this is anything serious. I'm not really sure if it is caused because of exercise or not. I have been consistently working out for a year but I've only started to experience this 2 months ago.

@@arielissophiathelittlestar5420 Hey there. Go to a doctor. I just went to the doctor yesterday. I explained all the symptoms. The dizziness, lightheadedness when standing up, heartbeat sounds in right ear when standing up or when exercising. Also, I was experiencing some chest pain which I only felt when I'm at rest. The doctor checked my bp. Turns out, it was low. 118/64. Diastolic pressure was low. She suspected it could be anemia. I might be deficient in some sort of nutrient. So I've given my blood test for iron, Vitamin D, ferritin, CBC test etc. Results will be out in 2 weeks.

Just got off the phone with the ENT-doctor. I've been living with pulsatile tinnitus for 6 years. Mine is caused by dehiscence of the sigmoid sinuses and most importantly... there is a cure!!! The surgery which can stop all the noise(in my case) is called 'sigmoid sinus resurfacing'. If you're reading this please ask for a CTA (arteriography and venography) or a MRI/MRV scan. Don't give up wooshers! 💜💜

I’m just curious, I’m overweight and have hyptertension does weight loss help alot with pulsatile tinnitus? I’m 5’10 but I do weigh alot and forgot how much exactly but I’m considered to be plus size by now. I’ve had my pulsatile tinnitus for like a year when I gained a little more weight but before that I never had this issue before but I did use to be anemic and had this problem in the past but when I gained my iron back, it went away but it returned a year ago and I was told I was little bit low on iron. I’m just curious if weight loss could help my tinnitus go away since it has to do with the blood flow and eating more iron could also maybe help? Plus I hear wooshing sounds like a heartbeat or wind like sounds. I know I should go see a doctor but I’m really curious if weight loss and gaining more iron would help with me issue?

I made an appointment with his office today. I’ll update later. Edit: OK FOLKS HERES MY EXPERIENCE!!!! First my problems/symptoms: Pulsatile tinnitus in left ear for 5 years. Comes and goes. Depending on which side I sleep, I’ll wake up with sound. While I’m having a bowel movement, I can hear air whooshing with every push. Working out, I can hear it as I jog. While having sex, I can hear it with every stroke. I have long hair, and when I put it up in a bun or pull it back, I can hear the sound. When I bend over to pick something up, or lifting something heavy, I hear it. 5 years of this. Diagnosis and Treatment: Saw the video, and because I live in NY, immediately made an appointment with Dr Patsalides. He ran the tests and saw narrowing of my veins on the left side of my brain and diagnosed me with venous sinus stenosis/venous Aneurysm. Gave me a surgery date two months later. Surgery Day: Doc started me on plavix and aspirin a week prior. The day of surgery, I was kept awake for the first part while doc used a catheter and entered my groin, going up to my brain to determine the size of the narrowing. Some mild to moderate discomfort, but fairly quick process. Afterwards I was put to sleep and the doc stented the affected vein area. I woke up in recovery feeling decent. Shortly afterwards, the anesthesia wore off and the headaches pounded. That was also short lived, as they gave me strong IV pain medication, and the headaches subsided. Couple hours later I was discharged, with some blood thinner meds. Tried to eat at home but the pain medication made me nauseous and I vomited, once. Relaxed the rest of the day and slept it off. Next day I felt fine, no headaches, but I could definitely feel the stent in my brain, but not as much as the first day. By day 3 post op, I was feeling at 95%. After the surgery, I HAVENT HAD ANY SYMPTOMS OF TINNITUS AT ALL, AND I CAN ENJOY NORMAL PEACE OF SOUND AND MIND LIKE 99% OF HUMANS. THANK GOD!!! Do’s and Don’ts: DO take all ur meds because not doing so will cause blood clots to form from a fresh stent. DO take it easy, but u won’t have much energy to do anything else the first couple days anyway. DO drink a ton of water leading up to surgery to hydrate your veins. I had to be poked a couple extra times because I was a little dehydrated. DONT cough. Or if u do, try to do a relaxed cough so u don’t put pressure on ur brain, because U WILL FEEL IT IN UR HEAD IF U COUGH TOO HARD ACCIDENTALLY. DONT try to eat a lot after surgery because throwing up is almost as bad as coughing too hard, as you’ll feel it more in ur head. DONT put yourself under and kind of stress or strain post op, just DONT. Questions or comments, please text 917 409 8339

Mine started 10+yrs ago. It began by listening to music loud on my headphones. Perhaps air pushed into the ears & started it (idk) .But it returned recently. What I do is put a cottonball and do my best to relax & rest & open my sinuses to breath better & eat better. Possible triggering factors: Headphones (stop this asap) , lack of sleep, smoking cigarettes & eating bad food that upsets the stomach/digestion system. Good luck to you all. You are not alone! Great information, thanks for sharing. This is something that I've learnt to live with, for many years too. However it became much worse about six years ago, when l had to have a broken earplug stuck deep in my left ear😫. If I fast or do certain movements or exercises, I can have relief from the symptom. And certain sleeping positions also can relieve the whooshing sensation. It can drive you crazy at times. Using breathing techniques helps immensely, helping me to fall asleep by loosening the dreaded focusing on that very annoying wooshing. Good luck to all, and much love 🙌💛🙌

Hi there! I am not a doctor, but I am trained in ayurvedic medicine. From the ayurvedic perspective all of your symptoms are indicative of what is called a vata imbalance. Please talk to your parents and see if they can help you find an Ayurvedic doctor or health practitioner. I have had vata imbalance resulting in tinnitus, anxiety, headaches, constipation and emaciation. It can manifest in many different ways. Ayurveda is a slow but thorough and lifelong method of healing the body. It addresses the root cause of your illnesses and symptoms. For me, doing warm oil treatments in my ears has helped a ton and is something I am still doing. You are young and if you start addressing this now you could reverse your symptoms and grow into a healthy adult! Good luck!

They asked that I do CT temporal bone but I'm not sure if I want to be going under radiation. I haven't seen an ENT yet, this started few months ago. I don't know what other things an ENT can do other than the regular hearing test that I already did.

I get the pulsing in my ear during the day it’s there but it’s not as loud but it’s when night time comes that it’s horrible. I haven’t slept well for years now and I’m tired of feeling tired. Mine affects my balance too and I have sensineural hearing loss just to add into the mix. I will also feel like when you walk you feel the movement except when you stop it feels like the movement is continuing. Like you are rocking internally. I was told that in my 2020 mri scan they saw I had AICA loops and that this was near to my cochlea so it answered lots of things. Now I wait to see an ENT to see what’s going on and if I should worry. Glad you got yours sorted. The consultant who looked at my ct scan said I didn’t have it. He never saw me and the ct scan was to see if I was having a stroke or aneurism at the time so not an mri scan which I was sent to a&e to get for pulsatile tinnitus. Is the consultant in my head? How the chuff does he know what’s going on in my head. He never saw me, never examined me. Bloody ridiculous. In the mean time I have the whooshing and beating in time with my heart beat that according to him is flipping imaginary. Eesh some drs and consultants need to stop playing god and actually do the job properly. Fed up totally.

I just got PT last night for the 1st time. So strange! About 3 days ago I woke up with a muffled ear and later in day, a super light tinnitus. Went to doctor the next day who dx me with Eustachian Tube Dysfunction and saw fluid behind my eardrum. Told to take Sudafed and Ibuprofen. Next day ear felt much better but that night, I was leaning over on right side to pick something up and heard a whoosh. I replicated movement severals times and same whoosh. Then I suddenly heard my heartbeat which lasted off and on all night but wasn't loud. Woke up with it but went away as I am working today. Messaged dr saying what this new symptom is (PT) and I googled and now my anxiety is flared up! He messaged back saying to take Flonase and Sudafed and that it's likely due to my current situation of ETD.

I have had this for years. I always found if you take 1 of your hands and pull back on the bottom of your earlobe (so if its in your left ear use your right hand around the back of your head for this) then get your other hand and press hard on your ear hole basically closing it, for about 20/30 seconds, then it should go away for a good few minutes, maybe even a couple of hours. For me I figured out it wasnt my heart beat I was hearing but it was the small vein in front your ear like where your side burn should be, if you put 2 fingures there you should even be able to feel the pulse. This works well when Im lying down in bed, I use it to get to sleep, during the day I can just sort of ignore unless Im in a quiet place.
