Can Pulsatile Tinnitus cause by a injury?
@lynmcf2 жыл бұрын
I had this for about 4 months and was a little bit scared seeing all the comments on the internet of people who couldn't find a cure. I went to my GP and it turned out to be caused by fluid on the ear from a chronic sinus infection. I had also woken up every morning for 6 months like I had a cold and just put up with it.. My doctor put me on prescription sinus spray and it worked! I don't have the pulse in my ear anymore. It took about 2+ months to get better but it's gone! So check your sinus. I had no sinus pain so I had no idea! I wanted to come back and share this because I hadn't seen anyone talk about sinus issues.

This! I feel the same, for months I feel like crap waking up, very nasaly and like I've got a cold that I couldn't shake. I've just developed pulsing in my left ear a week ago and it won't go away. I've had ear pain also I little so I know something is going on there that needs addressing. I also have no sinus pain. oh man I hope it's just a sinus infection that goes away. Saw the doc 2 days ago and he said everything looks good in my ears as he inspected my ear drum and got me to pressurize my ears by pinching my nose. My hearing seems to be pretty good at the moment, it's just the little bit of ear fullness and pulsing at times. Thanks for your story by the way, gives me hope it's not permanent!

If anyone is facing pulsatile tinnitus and none of the usual quick-reliefs work, try angling you head different ways. For me, the pulsing is about 80% reduced if I press my ear towards my shoulder -- e.g., when my left ear is pulsating, I'll try to press my right ear towards my right shoulder. A second way is to lightly press two fingers/knuckles against the muscle between your jaw and ear (the side that's whooshing/pulsing). I do this if I'm in a meeting and need to discretely relief the whooshing, and just pretend I'm resting my head on my fist with elbow on the desk.

@@W1zard_YT thanks for the concern! It’s those times when you’re desperate for that silence that comes after the whooshing finally stops. If you have this, please go to a doctor. Pulsatile tinnitus may appear without reason, but also it can suggest that is something wrong in your body. I have pulsatile tinnitus for about 3 weeks and I did all the tests (MRI, MRA and ultrasound of carotid arteries ) and they did not show anything bad. After excluding all the possibilities, my neurologist told me that it is possible to be from a bad position of the cervical column because my life is sedentary and I sit on a chair for about 8h a day.

Fast forward to 2021/2022, its every day, at least 5+ hours a day. It wakes me up at night sometimes. But for the last 4 days, it has been nonstop, 24/7. It only stops when I press right under my ear or when I lay on my left side. Tried to make an appointment today to get it checked out as I’m currently going crazy, only to find out the next appointment available is 3 weeks out! What I do is put a cottonball and do my best to relax & rest & open my sinuses to breath better & eat better. Other possible triggering factors: Headphones (stop this asap) , lack of sleep, smoking cigarettes & eating bad food that upsets the stomach/digestion system. Good luck to you all. You are not alone! Hello, thank you so much for making this video, I have had really bad pulsitile tinnitus for about 2 years now and have finally been referred to an ENT and neurologist in the UK, I am being sent for an MRI. I had a hearing test that showed no issues with my hearing which I am glad of! My doc read my file and told me not to come in because it was nothing and j was just depressed and looking for attention. Literally thought the tech put me on hold, read my file, said out loud “oh… she has depression… tell her she’s fine and it’s nothing” and the tech told me that the doctor would not be seeing me. I’m so angry.. but this brings me a little peace because I’m genuinely terrified. I’m pretty sure at one point I had IHH and I’m still convinced if I lose weight and eat better it’ll help my PT. Hello. I'm 53 years old and have been suffering from pulsatile tinnitus for about 2 years. I also was told that I have severe hearing loss and now wearing hearing aids. I was told by my ENT that it was probably due to my hearing loss. Although I've learn to live with the constant heartbeat sound in my ear or both ears at times, I still worry that I might be a tumor or something along does lines. What kind of detail testing should I be requesting to rule out any serious underlying condition. Thank you for your time.

have an MRI scan, it will be helpful you will get more detailed images of how your vascular system is working.
I have a throbbing type sound that comes and goes. It lasts for a few seconds then goes away for a while before returning. I wear a mask for 10 hours a day and behind my affected ear is usually sore and sometimes cut. I wonder whether prolonged mask wearing can cause this?

I have this and I went to my doctor and happened to be having visual symptoms at the same time. My medical team made me get an MRI bc they were worried about a brain tumor (my optic nerves ended up also being swollen). Turns out I have a rare chronic illness called Idiopathic Intercranial Hypertension, also called Pseudotumor Cerebri. It's concerning that you've been experiencing severe vertigo attacks and now dealing with tinnitus. It might be beneficial to visit both your audiologist and an ENT specialist to assess any potential connections between these symptoms. If you're noticing changes like hearing issues or ear fullness, it's important to address them.

One possible reason could be that you are terribly stressed and worn out. It took me six months to get over the same symptoms. I had to slow down at work and spend my time off with things that relaxed my body AND mind. I had to cut out fast paced work-outs with Yoga and Tai Chi. I got weekly massages with lots of attention given to neck and head area. The practitioner said my neck muscles were rock hard. I stayed on top of my allergies to eliminate sinusitis. My vertigo and pulsating tinnitus are gone. I still have tinnitus but most days I'm not aware of it. I'm back to work full time and do any kind of exercise I want. Every now and then my tinnitus spikes and I get dizzy. That's my signal to slow things down and take better care of myself.

I need a doctor like him. I got PT in July while suffering from a 4th Neve palsy that gave me double vision. I went to the ER in April the morning I woke up with double vision and they did a CT scan. It was fine. I went to my primary doctor and she referred me to a neurologist and she did two MRI's. One of my brain and one of my neck. At the time, the PT hadn't started until July. I went to an ENT and he gave me a nose spray. Didn't do anything. 2nd ENT did hearing test and fluid test and said since I'd already had a CT scan, a bunch of bloodwork and two MRI's for a 4th nerve palsy I suffered in April, he had no answer. Just said it may go away. It's gotten louder and not fun as anyone who has it knows, waiting for some kind of stroke or aneurysm or brain hemorrhage. Has anyone had it go away. Sleeping has become a project. I use weed for sleep so smoking more weed and playing music until I fall asleep is where I'm at now. I'm also having a problem with watery eyes that have chapped the skin around my eyes.
