Can Pulsatile Tinnitus cause by a injury?
@lynmcf
@lynmcf 2 жыл бұрын
I had this for about 4 months and was a little bit scared seeing all the comments on the internet of people who couldn't find a cure. I went to my GP and it turned out to be caused by fluid on the ear from a chronic sinus infection. I had also woken up every morning for 6 months like I had a cold and just put up with it.. My doctor put me on prescription sinus spray and it worked! I don't have the pulse in my ear anymore. It took about 2+ months to get better but it's gone! So check your sinus. I had no sinus pain so I had no idea! I wanted to come back and share this because I hadn't seen anyone talk about sinus issues.

This! I feel the same, for months I feel like crap waking up, very nasaly and like I've got a cold that I couldn't shake. I've just developed pulsing in my left ear a week ago and it won't go away. I've had ear pain also I little so I know something is going on there that needs addressing. I also have no sinus pain. oh man I hope it's just a sinus infection that goes away. Saw the doc 2 days ago and he said everything looks good in my ears as he inspected my ear drum and got me to pressurize my ears by pinching my nose. My hearing seems to be pretty good at the moment, it's just the little bit of ear fullness and pulsing at times. Thanks for your story by the way, gives me hope it's not permanent!

If anyone is facing pulsatile tinnitus and none of the usual quick-reliefs work, try angling you head different ways. For me, the pulsing is about 80% reduced if I press my ear towards my shoulder -- e.g., when my left ear is pulsating, I'll try to press my right ear towards my right shoulder. A second way is to lightly press two fingers/knuckles against the muscle between your jaw and ear (the side that's whooshing/pulsing). I do this if I'm in a meeting and need to discretely relief the whooshing, and just pretend I'm resting my head on my fist with elbow on the desk.

@@W1zard_YT thanks for the concern! It’s those times when you’re desperate for that silence that comes after the whooshing finally stops. It’s a quick fix that usually works within 2min so the blood flow isn’t stopped for that long too. It doesn’t seem to stop the blood flow though, or at least I haven’t pressed hard enough that I felt uncomfortable from it?

If you have this, please go to a doctor. Pulsatile tinnitus may appear without reason, but also it can suggest that is something wrong in your body. I have pulsatile tinnitus for about 3 weeks and I did all the tests (MRI, MRA and ultrasound of carotid arteries ) and they did not show anything bad. After excluding all the possibilities, my neurologist told me that it is possible to be from a bad position of the cervical column because my life is sedentary and I sit on a chair for about 8h a day.

I have gone to physical therapy PT in the past and the massage and chiro did not work but honestly I do not think they were skilled in treating pulsatile tinnitus and just wanted to experiment on my to see if they could fix it.

Unfortunately after the surgery MRI showed the tumor trying to grow back. So I had 25 radiation treatments to the right side of my head. I’ve had this for about five years. Only in my left ear. Started after I got over a bad cold. At first, it happened very rarely. Maybe once or twice a week, couple minutes at a time. Fast forward to 2021/2022, its every day, at least 5+ hours a day. It wakes me up at night sometimes. But for the last 4 days, it has been nonstop, 24/7. It only stops when I press right under my ear or when I lay on my left side. Tried to make an appointment today to get it checked out as I’m currently going crazy, only to find out the next appointment available is 3 weeks out! My next step is the emergency room, absolutely no way I can last 3 weeks with this whooshing in my ear!!!

#7 -Useful to know. Mine started 10+yrs ago. It began by listening to music loud on my headphones. Perhaps air pushed into the ears & started it (idk) .But it returned recently. What I do is put a cottonball and do my best to relax & rest & open my sinuses to breath better & eat better. Other possible triggering factors: Headphones (stop this asap) , lack of sleep, smoking cigarettes & eating bad food that upsets the stomach/digestion system. Good luck to you all. You are not alone! Feel free to comment other techniques or causes. Hope you feel better guys, God bless

thats exactly how it began for me as well. also i put Hydrogen Peroxide in my ears (once in both and then 2 days later only in affected ear) thinking that may be earwax is causing those whooshing sounds. It might have been a cause too. Its been 2 months now and its exacerbating since a week now. Please share if you have got any treatment and if tinnitus has reduced/vanished as I am trusting only social media/internet as of now and no doc for understanding it better by talking to people who are going through this. My doc read my file and told me not to come in because it was nothing and j was just depressed and looking for attention. Literally thought the tech put me on hold, read my file, said out loud “oh… she has depression… tell her she’s fine and it’s nothing” and the tech told me that the doctor would not be seeing me. I’m so angry.. but this brings me a little peace because I’m genuinely terrified. I’m pretty sure at one point I had IHH and I’m still convinced if I lose weight and eat better it’ll help my PT. I was told by my ENT that it was probably due to my hearing loss. Although I've learn to live with the constant heartbeat sound in my ear or both ears at times, I still worry that I might be a tumor or something along does lines. I have this and I went to my doctor and happened to be having visual symptoms at the same time. My medical team made me get an MRI bc they were worried about a brain tumor (my optic nerves ended up also being swollen). Turns out I have a rare chronic illness called Idiopathic Intercranial Hypertension, also called Pseudotumor Cerebri. It's concerning that you've been experiencing severe vertigo attacks and now dealing with tinnitus. One possible reason could be that you are terribly stressed and worn out. It took me six months to get over the same symptoms. I had to slow down at work and spend my time off with things that relaxed my body AND mind. I had to cut out fast paced work-outs with Yoga and Tai Chi. I got weekly massages with lots of attention given to neck and head area. The practitioner said my neck muscles were rock hard. I stayed on top of my allergies to eliminate sinusitis. My vertigo and pulsating tinnitus are gone. I still have tinnitus but most days I'm not aware of it. I'm back to work full time and do any kind of exercise I want. Every now and then my tinnitus spikes and I get dizzy. That's my signal to slow things down and take better care of myself.

Hi..thank you so much for this video.Ive had this for about 4 weeks..you referenced pressure points in the neck. Thinking back, this started when I started lifting heavy weight on my back for a 1 rep max squat. And As a guy down there commented, mine is also always following sounds, like big fans blowing or Dehumidifiers. I honestly thought the sound was real , then I asked someone beside me if they heard it and they said no...then I though..wow..what the heck is this. :( YOU made me feel better thank you . I am the biggest baby when it comes to health issues. Ive coasted along so well in life, I have no coping skills.:(

I’ve had this over the last 24 hours. Thought someone had their tumble dryer outside! GP has looked in my ear and sees the start of an infection - says this is the likely cause. There is a lot of wax, redness inside the ear and medium level pain too. Ear pain is awful 😞

Dear Ben Thompson, Do you feel it would be more helpful and respectful to your subscribers to acknowledge their communications? I am seeing many comments from people who are really struggling. Perhaps someone on your staff could help with this. I am concerned about some of these individuals.

I need a doctor like him. I got PT in July while suffering from a 4th Neve palsy that gave me double vision. I went to the ER in April the morning I woke up with double vision and they did a CT scan. It was fine. I went to my primary doctor and she referred me to a neurologist and she did two MRI's. One of my brain and one of my neck. At the time, the PT hadn't started until July. I went to an ENT and he gave me a nose spray. Didn't do anything. 2nd ENT did hearing test and fluid test and said since I'd already had a CT scan, a bunch of bloodwork and two MRI's for a 4th nerve palsy I suffered in April, he had no answer. Just said it may go away. It's gotten louder and not fun as anyone who has it knows, waiting for some kind of stroke or aneurysm or brain hemorrhage. Has anyone had it go away. Sleeping has become a project. I use weed for sleep so smoking more weed and playing music until I fall asleep is where I'm at now. I'm also having a problem with watery eyes that have chapped the skin around my eyes.

Started around the beginning of February when my yearly allergies kicked in. Only in my right ear and that ear there also feels like there's a hard tube behind my ear. Which tube would that be?

I have had tinnitus for about 5 weeks after loud sounds, hard strain on the neck muscles and stress. 24/7 ringing that is low and high pitched, but at night as soon as I sleep I get randomly another sound that is louder, it just comes and goes throughout the night. No headaches, no dizziness a little tired though because of sleep disturbance.

Yes I have a really tight neck on the side I hear the whooshing sound in my ear. I’m wondering if having strained muscles can cause it. I hope that’s all it is. Any updates?

Is there a difference between ringing in the ears and pulsatile tinnitus?
@DodgeMyViper
@DodgeMyViper 3 жыл бұрын
Both are a form of Tinnitus one is simply, well... ringing and the other sounds like a pulsing during the heartbeat or almost like a wooshing sound.

I just started experiencing this 4 days ago for the first time. Constant swooshing sound in my left ear. Prior to that, at times (not frequently), I used to hear clicking sounds in the same ear. I went to an ear doctor, who removed some wax, did some test and told me my ear is fine. So now I will go to my GP to start seeing what else it can be. My blood pressure is on the law side, so I don’t believe it’s the cause.

Check if theres fluid in the middle Ear, and maybe get Ear drops, and nosespray, and if your very worried get a ct scan it cost tho, and the last thing maybe find another Ear doctor.

@mariusmitrica3732 It stopped on its own. But not completely. Occasionally, I become aware of it, but it's for short periods of time and of low intensity. I can live with that.

I've been experiencing this for a few months now BUT I'm very confused because it's not occurring constantly. It always stops after a while, pauses for a few seconds/minutes/idk, then returns, as if someone had pushed a button and turned it off and on. also, it occasionally occurs in my other ear as well, but mainly in the left ear. This vid made me decide to consult my doctor about it. I hope it's just that I smoke and don't excercize. I hope it's gonna stop again. It irritates me greatly.
