I just watched "Val" on Amazon prime...wonderful but I literally cried through it..he was always my favorite actor...Tombstone was a role that he also deserved an Oscar but the crazies of his studio didn't nominate him....he is a perfectionist and wants the best.....gots a bad rap.

Yes, "Val" was a very deep and personal documentary on Val Kilmer. It was excellent and I felt very sad for him when they showed his vulnerability, especially the part when his mother died and in that very vulnerable moment said "He missed his mommy" and covered his face to mourn. That part had me in tears. Great documentary for anybody wanting to see it.

@@Silux_RayThanks for your comment on my looks. If you think that's bad, then you're way too big of a pussy to handle a recent photo. I have lupus which has damaged my kidneys and lungs. Plus, started chemotherapy last week for a rare form of leukemia, but at least I'm not hiding behind a letter, "L". I LOVED Val's performance as Doc Holliday, & I know that I said it. It was in two posts, but I said it. But, I also LOVED his portrayal of Jim Morrison of The Doors. The physical resemblance is uncanny but being Val, he took it a lot further, he was very method in that movie. But, watch the movie and learn about it, I don't like dealing with trash like you.

I can understand why he was labled as difficult to work with. Some directors dont want to inspire the actors or imposing their style. Val's documentary showed the harsh conflict btw director n leading actors. Val wanted to protect Marlon Brondo's legacy n fought for it. Val is a great actor, who brings the intensity n tension into film.

There’s no tube there…that’s where his wind pipe exits now and he simply has to occlude the air to force it back up thru his esophagus and out thru his mouth. It’s still him speaking of course…just doesn’t have vocal chords now. He can be perfectly happy as is and can still communicate. The fact that he can’t eat not all I think is more difficult to deal with. He has to eat thru a feeding tube, which I’m Guessing can be very trying bc he doesn’t taste anymore bc the food of course doesn’t hit the taste buds thru a tube. The voice thing pales in comparison imho bc he can still speak.

It's hard, but as someone who's dealt with a chronic illness and thankfully mostly recovered, it's amazing how you can lose so much of your health but still be happy. That's all I asked when I was really sick and debilitated, to just be able to function and be happy, so when Val says he feels wonderful, despite his health issues, he's probably telling the truth.

I've heard that he was not the nicest person to work with, and he had that 'weirdness' surrounding him. But looking at his current condition makes me sad. He's hosting a Twitter Space as of now, I tuned in just to listen to him talk but it was so hard I feel like I'm going to cry. So glad that he seems to have his beautiful kids stay beside him all the time.

Some are talking about a Val Kilmer comeback. He never left! I enjoyed your movie sir. You are not selling your old self. You are letting me into your life. I feel honored to have watched your movie. This was and will be my favorite out of all of your roles. I was an actor. No training, no experience. I did extra work on SCIFI ZNation. I said no training. I lied. I watched your movies, your different characters, your facial expressions, your annunciation of lines, and your abilities. I had no lines, I made 100 dollars a day. I put everything I had into the characters, gave them back stories, and did my very best to perform, and learn all I could shove in my brain. Please see Season three Episode One. I am the masked man leading the Kracken. Not bad for a then 45 year old Air Force veteran. Thank you for your continued inspiration and motivation. Do not get the blues. You are loved by many and are never alone. Very Respectfully, Michael.

Interesting that there were actors/directors that criticized him… yet there are those who defended him and stood up for him.

Only two incompetent directors didn't like him because he wanted to make things better.. They just wanted to finish the movie and take the money.. He didn't care about the money that's why he was blacklisted.. All the actors he worked with him said nothing but good things of him.. He challenged them and made them better, he taught them how to improvise and made sure the movies worked ( watch his bio vids on KZbin).. He's a genius and very humble human being.. He had a hard Time with spotlight that's why Tom cruise was the bigger star.. Watch the documentary val for more insight

He's the reason that Tombstone is my favorite movie about Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday. Wish he would have won an Oscar for his role as Doc Holliday.
