I have some books about the history of some hymns so I was familiar with the story and have heard and sang it many times. It is very comforting and a wonderful testament to the peace that God can provide! Awesome video Whitts!

You have no idea what that song means to me and many others! Yes, our preacher told us that story. Can you imagine the faith of that man when God put those words in his heart 💕. I heard the backstory once, but it's been years since I've been in a church that sang the old hymns. Since he had four daughters, I assume the sole survivor was a son? I wonder if he has any descendants.
