The difference between buffer zones is that in one Ukrainians who already lost more than 700 000 men are loosing around a brigade a day, they don't have 2 years time with this tempo, at the "greatest summer offensive" in Rabotine and Herson, they were "just" loosing 600-700 men a day on the entire front. Not to mention war material they can't produce and west apparently can't either. If they want to continue they will need another volunteer like Poland, Romania with some Chihuahuas from Baltics or even France.

The bottom line is that if NATO decides to set up a "no fly zone" anywhere in Ukraine, it would mean overt, direct military involvement by NATO in the conflict. Why? Well, obviously a "no fly zone" requires military force to ensure it remains a no fly zone. This would be by far the biggest escalation we have seen from the west thus far. NATO has totally embraced a mentality of "the other side must suffer total defeat at all cost." The worse the battlefield situation has developed for Ukraine, the more NATO has doubled down on this extreme position. It is such a puerile, dangerous position that NATO has taken. Most of the global majority has recognized the insanity in NATO's position.

You are making a mistaken in your analysis. The main point for the initialisazation is that the Patriot systeme will be located outside of Ukraine and protect the Ukraine. By this location Russia can not HIT the Patriot system. As soon as the Patriot System or the system in charge of the protection will be install in Ukraine, the Russia have the right to destroy it and it will be the same situaion as we have now. My understanding may be is to locate the F16 base in this part of the border for the operation protected by the system located in Poland. The reason is , if the F16 aircraft takeoff in Poland the Russia statemen is to attack all the aircraft field where the aircafts are takeoff to attack Russian soldiers. The OBVIOUS difference between the Russian buffer zone in northern Ukraine and the proposed Polish buffer zone in western Ukraine is that Russia isn't lobbing missiles into Polan d every day. How can Poland create a no fly zone? How can NATO create a no fly zone in Ukraine. How many air defense missiles do they even have left? To create a no fly zone it would take all of NATOs air force and no guarantee that would be enough. The buffer zone operation has done exactly what it was designed to do. They stretched out Ukraine's forces further which made it easier for them to advance along the rest of the line. Not only that but Ukraine's daily losses were between 1200 to 1500 men a day. Since the buffer zone opened Ukrainian losses are between 1800 to 2400 men a day.

Even if they tell Ukraine they get these amounts, a supply will take months to be delivered and to maintain over 100 Jets is crazy amounts of work and personnel needed. I would estimate 5+ crew per jet. With 100 Jets Ukraine just can not run these jets.

I THINK what will stop NATO for keep extending the buffer zone is they have no resources to keep it going, mainly with Russia having the means to deplete what NATO has now. So NATO is in a double jeopardy situation : not only they'll need to keep the pantries stocked, but they must also replace the food in those pantries that are being destroyed. The problem is, NATO countries have no industrial base nor the cheap energy to do so. Now Russia has the option of incorporating China's industrial capacity if needed, and potentially also that of North Korea's to keep the juggernaut going.

Exactly, and what could the F-16 achieve in Ukrainian airspace today, or in fact, more to the point, how long could an F-16 survive in Ukrainian airspace? I'd have to estimate it would have a combat life expectancy, of less than 30 minutes over Ukraine. You only need to understand what it would be facing, regardless, that we already know it can't survive against the S-300 anti-air defences, but then, it would then need to survive against, for example, a Russian SU-35E. So, how could it survive, is the only real question that counts? The SU-35E, is classified a "4++ Generation Fighter" though its true capabilities go well beyond the original/current crop of 4 & 4+ Generation mounts, like the F-15, 16, 18, Eurofighter Typhoon, French Dassault Rafael etc. SU-35E has a forward and rear-facing Phazotron radar system capable of simultaneous tracking of 34 targets up to 92 miles, (even over extremely uneven terrain). Its cockpit design contains a colour CRT display unit, as well as HUD (Head-Up Display unit) along with digital fly-by-wire (FBW) capability equipped with quadruple redundancy - (the onboard computers will always find four different ways to achieve the desired results of its combat mission). Its avionics also include an Irbis-E passive phased array radar system. The SU-35E, only falls short of the standard adopted for true 5th Generation, by its lack of stealth. And, the SU-35E's tactical value has increased massively, and its overall combat ability has broadened considerably. = the F-16, is, in effect, an obsolete, unusable aircraft in Ukraine, and in every way imaginable, and the US must know this, really. And that shows us all, the real level of desperation we are really seeing from the USA, today.

This is nonsense Dima, Nato cannot create a no fly zone/buffer zone because Patriot is a legacy system that does not work against near peer or peer adversary, and has questionable effectiveness against irregular forces such as those in Yemen by Saudi Arabia for example. Ukraine has been unable to create a no fly zone in central and eastern Ukraine with Patriot and other western weapon systems, why would they suddenly become effective in western Ukraine? Ukrainian legacy Soviet systems such as the S300 have proven far more effective than western air defense systems, which is why Russia was limiting its air forces early in the war. Russia has proven it can attack anywhere in the Ukraine with its stand off weapons that include hypersonic weapons that no western weapon systems can counter.

But hypersonic missiles to destroy any airbases created or patriot systems stationed.
