This is a bittersweet, beautifully written Russian story. In re: BlueSky right below this. -- Yes, the Russian authors do have a lot of heart in their writings. But, we should not forget the authors in America who did know and did care - amongst them are O’Henry, John Steinbeck, Sinclair Lewis (Babbit), Upton Sinclair (poor factory workers), Rod Serling, O’Neal, Tennessee Williams, whoever wrote “On the Waterfront” or “It’s a Wonderful Life”, “Miracle on 34th St.”, and many more. Even in the ‘70’s and later, we had Gene Shepard’s “A Christmas Story” about a late 1940’s regular middle class family (“Don’t - Forget - to - drink - your - Ovaltine.” Dirty tick, if you ask me! Code ring, my foot!!!) There’s also been “Good Times” with John Amos and Esther Rolle as Florida, “All in the Family”, etc. In the early ‘50’s, we had “Life with Riley” working class family, “I Remember Mama” about an immigrant Swedish family. There have been quite a number of books, shows, and movies. But these days, it’s mostly upper class families and I, too, find that very annoying!! Have a great whatever :) 🌲☃️🌷🌱🕊️✨🕯️🐶☀️

The Russian writers write about all people, with love. The English writers write only about aristocrats, with snobbery.

How true. They seem to have more heart than any other people - even today. I’m talking about the middle class and poor people. I hope that never disappears. 🕯️🌺🎄✨

@@breakablehandlewithcare Every British (which is what I meant by English) writes about the upper class. The poor people in their stories have only one maid, and live in dingy quarters with a sitting room. Russian's write about peasant life, about doing the right thing when it's hard to do. My opinion.
