Defending the Biblical Roots of Christianity

Hebrew Roots teacher Steve (from Torah Family, formerly of 119 Ministries) recently put out an alarming video on Galatians 3. In it, he makes the case that the "tutor" that the Apostle Paul mentions in Galatians 3:24-25 is referring to the curse of the Law of Moses, not the Law itself. And the fact is that Steve has put out a false teaching that leads his viewers to believe something different than what the Bible says. So if you’re a fan of Steve’s teachings, or 119 Ministries, I think you’re gonna find my breakdown of his teaching pretty sobering.

Just let everyone know when Steve quotes Galatians 3:22 He is using the NIV 1985 version - Galatians 3:24-25 (NIV): 24 So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law. - the reason why Solberg had trouble finding the translation is because the NIV change its wording in the NIV 2011 - Galatians 3:24-25 (NIV2011): 24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. - The Bible program he was using had the 2011 NIV not the 1985 NIV. That’s why he had problems not because of Steve.

I'm so glad you're addressing Galatians 3. Reading this chapter for myself and taking it at face value was what finally woke me up out of the Hebrew Roots movement after nearly two decades in it. @@MB-vi8zp With what you posted and what I asked, you should have been able to understand why I asked you that question. Now, if you had a relationship with God, it would imply that you were walking with Christ, because to know Christ is to know the Father, right? So, what you are stating is that you left the God that you got to know through Yeshua because you did not understand a lot of things and went to the God of Christianity, and now you understand lots of things. The question is, is the Hebrew roots movement a false religion? If you answer yes to this question, then why did you say that you had a relationship with God while you were involved with them? You will probably avoid answering this question and end the conversation. Let me give you some honest advice. If you do not understand some things, it is okay. If you ask God and do your own studying instead of listening to and falling into the doctrine of man, the Spirit of God will enlighten your mind with a true understanding of what God made clear the first time he spoke. You can listen to teachers, but you have to make sure they are teaching according to the scriptures. Rob is pulling verses out of context and pushing a doctrine that he believes in but is not scriptural. Don't be impressed with someone's biblical educational background, and remember this, "we are not called to wear collars around our necks; only dogs wear them" (by sundownsam)

@cnmordecai can you share the turning point or process for leaving Torahism?
@cnmordecai
@cnmordecai Жыл бұрын
@@digimike8 hi Michael. I don’t know how much help I can be. I can’t say there was a true turning point. Keeping things like kosher and whatnot didn’t really seem to provide any benefit to overcoming the flesh. I also was put off by the spiritual pride and bad theology that seemed to infect most everyone that gets into torahism. People divide over things like whether it’s ok to eat marshmallows because the contain pork gelatin, or what calendar to use, as well as a host of petty differences. I began to see that torahism wasn’t the more authentic, biblically based path that I thought it was. I wound up running back to the church I had fled so that I could focus on Christ again. I also studied the early church and I was bothered that no one seemed to get the memo that gentiles should be keeping Torah. There were things in hebrews and Galatians that never quite added up for me. I watched videos from people like 119 ministries, and I found their explanations wanting. I slowly started eating pepperoni on my pizza again, then I finally ate a pork chop one day. It was and has been a long process, and there wasn’t really one particular thing. It was a variety of confounding factors. Oh, And I started really diving into the New Testament, one thing I could not get past was acts 21, which flat out states that it was decided not to enforce Torah onto the gentiles. Also the Patriarchs were considered righteous before Torah was given. Abraham is even named as keeping God’s Torot, plural of Torah before the Torah of Moses was given. As mr. Solberg writes in his book, the law of God in principle is eternal, but not it’s various expressions. I began to see this, as well as the fact that The law of God changes even within the law itself. Example: Yahweh declares that all of Israel are priests. Then, after the golden calf incident, only the tribe of Levi are priests, specifically Aaron and his sons. The command to wear tassels isn’t added until numbers, after they execute a sabbath breaker. So the entire premise on which torahism is built, that being that the Torah is immutable and eternal, came crumbling down. I believe God’s law is good, that eating kosher is healthier, I believe that there is a blessing in the sabbath, and that the feast days can be joyous times that serve as object lessons about our messiah, but they are not required, nor do they make one righteous. Hope this helps, please feel free to respond with any more questions or comments Michael. Leaving torahism has set me free to serve God in the spirit, not in the old way of the written code.

I am not a learned person as Mr. Solberg apparently is. I don't have a PhD, masters, nor bachelor's degree in any subject. That is why I attempt to do GOD's will as He states it, not as tradition teaches it. With that being said it seems to me that people put more emphasis on the writings of Paul than what YESHUA, (JESUS) Himself states in the gospels. I believe any Scripture that seems to contradict Scripture is my own misunderstanding and that I need to do more study and pray that YHWH will guide me to His Truth. I believe we should do as Scriptures teaches not as tradition and men say.

@@sundownsam3369 Hi, Sam. God's covenant with Israel isn't "held on" the Sabbath. Rather, the Sabbath was given as a sign of the Mosaic covenant. After explaining all the rules around the Sabbath command in Ex 31:12-15, God said, "Therefore the people of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, observing the Sabbath throughout their generations, as a covenant forever. It is a sign forever between me and the people of Israel that in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.’” (Ex 32:16-17) The word translated into English as "forever" is the Hebrew word _olam_. And there isn't really an English equivalent of that word. Olam basically means "a long time ahead," like a distant temporal horizon we can't quite see in front of us. It's a time hidden from present sight. And in English, the word "forever" comes closest to capturing the meaning. And sometimes that's exactly what that text means. But there are many examples in Scripture where olam couldn't have literally meant forever and ever. For example Lev 6:22 says of the priestly grain offering, "The priest from among Aaron's sons, who is anointed to succeed him, shall offer it to the Lord as decreed forever (olam). The whole of it shall be burned." And yet there has not been a temple or a Levitical priesthood for almost 2,000 years. The priestly grain offering came to an end at the destruction of the temple in 70 CE. So I believe the Sabbath, as a sign of the Mosaic covenant, remains between God and the Jewish people. But that covenant has come to and end (Heb 8:13). Not because God broke it, but because Israel did: "my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband" (Jer 31:32). Which is why God in His (literally) eternal mercy, made a New Covenant (Jer 31:31-34, Luke 22:20, Hebrews 8). Blessings, Rob

For them to say that the lack of seeking to obey the Law of Moses is a matter of disobedience to the Lord, that IS a salvation issue, for it is written: Colossians 3:6 "For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:" There are many other verses that deal with disobedience, all of which force the Hebrew Roots teachings in the arena of their being self-defeating.

Thank you so much for this teaching. It is for almost a year now that I meet a lot of tora keeping christians. I am flabbergasted how the scriptures are bend to the justification of their beliefs. I saw in the spirit a coiling movement untill I heard a man reading Job about a coiling snake which is called the leviathan. As a former HR, which honestly I didn’t spend a ton of time in it because I went into more sophisticated forms of of Toraism, Messianic Judaism and Rabbinical Judaism, eventually he will have to two possible conclusions once he’s pressed on those other verses, especially if pressed on Galatians 4, Paul is a heretic and should be ignored, which some more radical forms of HR take, or the position that First Fruits of Zion had to take, which is that the law is not for gentiles or are optional for gentiles. This “Law for all” position is so unsustainable, wether you study the Ancient Near East, History before and after Christ, or any form of Judaism prevalent at the time of Christ. There is only one group that maintain this position. I remember pressing a family member who still remains in this movement, and after much discussion, almost by accident they admitted that they believed what the circumcision party believed. They try to explain this away because obviously the Circumcision Party are the enemy of the faith, but even Steve admits it here, that faith in Jesus(Yeshua) is a stepping stone to keeping the Mosaic Law, and without making that leap you’re not really in the faith. They might add a theological buffer, but the conclusion is the same.

You said around 9 minutes in that Steve (Moutria by the way so now you know), said "Faith was by walking in the Torah." Please allow me to explain. Steve, like statistically every single living person in the Torah movement, "walks through faith" KNOWING, HAVING FAITH, THAT WE ARE SAVED, ONLY THROUGH THE SACRIFICE OF THE SAVIOR. THE CROSS. THE BLOOD OF JESUS if you prefer. I'm not yelling, I wanted to strongly emphasis that point. The law does Not save us. We walk Because we are saved. See the difference? I hope that helps.

Thank you, Steve! I appreciate that. And I understand that Mr. Moutria said that salvation does not come from the law. In fact, I included a clip of him saying that in this video. And further, I agree that the fruit of authentic faith is obedience, so the idea of faith and obedience are closely linked. But, as I'm sure you're aware, Mr. Moutria teaches that keeping the Law of Moses is how we keep our salvation. Which means that if we _don't_ keep the Shabbat, eat kosher, keep the feasts, etc. we can lose our salvation. Which makes those rituals matters of salvation, not merely obedience. Is that a teaching that you are comfortable with? R.

Good morning! Scotty here, thanking you for being honest with the Scriptures! This expose of what “Steve“ has openly stated is more than disturbing!! This should stir up righteous anger in every Bible believing Christian! The major point came at around 22 minutes and 30 seconds in your video, where Steve equated not following Torah to sin! Thank you for exposing this heresy! It’s absurd for him to even try to preface everything by saying that salvation is not obtained through obedience to Torah, and then turn around in the same video and say that not obeying Torah is equal to sin! I was recently questioned by a local Torah observant believer about keeping the Sabbath. I told this person that during the week I did have my Sabbath rest in Jesus. This person replied to me that if I didn’t do it on Saturday that it was not a Sabbath! This is dangerous! This type of teaching literally entraps weaker members of the faith. Thank you Rob, for your teaching on Galatians chapter 3. As we know, Paul begins that chapter by calling the Galatians foolish! And basically he said that this teaching, put them under a spell! Because he asked them “who has bewitched you?”. The apostle Paul was obviously very angry about this false teaching, and we should be angry also! Thank you for your expose on Galatians three, and I am looking forward to more!

1 john 3:4 actually states that what Steve said about sins is true. So how can we be so hard on Steve when its actually written in the NT. Also what Steve said about Salvation is also true, Because Steve Moutria also shows that Salvation is only through Jesus. So why the backlash of keeping Torah? Obviously we know no people living in Sins such as Adultery, fornication, etc... will inherit the kingdom, meaning they will not be saved. The Torah according to 1 John 3:4 teaches us what sin is, so when you learn what sinning is, why continue in sin if you now know how not to follow sin. There is a big difference between Salvation and Living a life knowingly in Sin. And those that understand the Torah then the key is 1 John 1:9

@@johanneangers2 Hi Johanne! 1 John 3:4 Says, "Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness." Not only because the Law hadn’t been given yet, but also because they didn’t break any Mosaic commands. For those under the Law of Moses was it a sin to break that law? Of course! Sin is defined as missing the mark. The mark would be the Law of God, which the Torah is a part of. How much of it is up for debate. Many agree on the 10 commandments. Transgression is defined in theology as knowingly breaking God's command. For me, I definitely believe sabbath to be a blessing for one to rest, but what day I do not have 100% conviction. I recognize the spiritual significance of Saturday with creation and the Torah, but also Sunday with the Resurrection. (Why not both or every day as a day devoted to God!) Some have spiritual convictions that it is a certain day. Sadly, human nature desires to be right, which is why many claim to have it all figured out atleast on specific topics. Sin could be described as going against Torah when one looks throughout scripture. What part of Torah is now the Law of Christ as Paul states is up for conversation. However, we are no longer under the condemnation of our sins thanks be to Jesus's sacrifice! A unified bride of Christ is promised in the future and one day we will all (believers) be wrong made right! Praise be to God it is not of our own understanding that we are saved but out of faith in Jesus. Blessings and may God guide your path through the Holy Spirit.

During the time of the shadow of the eclipse, we were in darkness. Even the birds stopped singing! Then as the sun reappeared, the shadow disappeared! I think that’s the point! Mosaic law was the shadow according to Hebrews 10. And then as our Messiah, the son of God appeared, the entire purpose of mosaic law was then fulfilled! We are not walking in the darkness anymore, because we are now walking in the light! That dark shadow, has disappeared because the light of the world is Jesus! The shadow, has disappeared and we are now children of light! Praise God!

1) The law has not happened in totality. The "latter rains" (the fall feasts) haven't happened, Jesus hasn't come again, He hasn't set up His Messianic reign. To continue, there isn't peace on Earth, we haven't beaten our swords into plows, all of Creation is still in a fallen state, there is not a new Heaven and New Earth, and on and on. So you can see that there is still a lot more prophesy to be fulfilled from the Torah, Prophets, and Psalms. Furthermore, 2) the Scripture you quoted says that they are things *to come*. At the time of the writing they hadn't happened yet, and please note that the writing of that statement in the NT was post Christ's assent and they are still saying "things to come", meaning there is still expectation. Finally, 3) the word "just" does not appear in the text. In this case, words like merely, only, or just are used to diminish the importance and impact of the shadow. But here's what we know about shadows: it means something is coming just like your analogy. The sun is coming after the eclipse. Soon, we will see Him as He is, face to face. *The Law* will go forth from Zion, as Scripture says, and He will set us all straight! (Me included!) 😀 As you likely know, Hebrews 10 is writing about what happens when there is no priesthood, Temple, or Tabernacle. There have been times in history when there was no Temple. In fact, many of the prophets wrote during those periods. The prophet Daniel, for example, wrote during a period without a dedicated Temple, but he still followed God's commands in exile. I don't think anyone other than His Word is our authority right now. He'll fix it all soon. Every blessing on this Sabbath morning.

Fundamentally misunderstanding what the phrase under the law means in the context Paul was writing. Torah does not necessarily only mean the Mosaic law. Sin is disobedience of Torah, Torah simply means instruction, as in God’s instructions. He gave Adam a very simple instruction, he disobeyed, as in he disobeyed Torah, again instruction, therefore sin. Granted too many cage stage Hebrew Roots folks get unhelpfully fixated on specifically the Mosaic law, but that is not a legitimate argument against viewing the whole of scripture as valid and applicable.

Rob, While we are Hebrew Roots and come to similar Torah pursuance conclusions about Galatians, we do so from a different perspective than Steve. As our moniker describes, we believe the NT was originally written in Hebrew / Aramaic so we attempt to look through the Greek translation to the underlying substrate, especially quotes from the OT…and there are many more of these than those footnoted in your Bible. Your discussion about Bible versions is well taken. Note that your ESV is guilty of an omission in chapter three of Galatians. Compare the KJV with the ESV: 1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, THAT YE SHOULD NOT OBEY THE TRUTH, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? (Gal 3:1 KJV) 1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. (Gal 3:1 ESV) Now, you may not agree as to how we interpret that phrase … coming up … but I think you SHOULD agree that a translation must not omit a whole phrase, even if it seems redundant. This has the potential to change the whole tenor of the passage. How can you obey a fact? You can’t! You can believe a fact…Messiah Yeshua’s atonement for sin by His death, burial, and resurrection…but you can’t obey a fact. So, what is THE TRUTH that we should OBEY IT? 142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and THY LAW IS THE TRUTH. (Ps 119:142) So, in chapter three of Galatians, we diverge from normative Christianity with the very first verse. [Actually, we diverge from the very first chapter of Galatians but that’s a much longer discussion.] It will be interesting to see how you understand chapter three of Galatians in your subsequent video. Shalom

Thanks, Henry! It's worth noting that only a minority of English translations include the phrase "that you should not obey the truth" in Galatians 3:1. It's not a matter of the other translations "omitting a phrase," but rather that the MSS they use do not include that phrase. Which is a big reason why, as much as I enjoy the beautiful flow of the KJV, it's not a primary interpretation for theological study for me. (Although I do consult it.) There have been so many older MSS discovered since 1611 that are not reflected in the KJV. Let me know what you think of my Bible study on Gal 3: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqisY4mmdt58hK8 Blessings, Rob

@@TheBiblicalRoots Rob, Yes, I see your point. But which MSS are the more legitimate? It seems those that omit the phrase are based on the Hort Westcott Critical Text and a few other minor MSS? The fact that Paul uses a very similar phrase in Romans 2:8 with the same or very similar tenor to our understanding of Galatians 3:1 in just about EVERY VERSION seems to give more legitimacy to the KJV over the ESV? 8 But unto them that are contentious, and DO NOT OBEY THE TRUTH, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, (Rom 2:8) Perhaps so many versions following the HWCT is just an indicator of confirmation bias due to Christian tradition??? Looking forward to reviewing your new video. Shalom

If only Hebrew Roots people would read The Book of Hebrews in the New Testament & BELIEVE. But they don't even believe Jesus is the correct name of the Messiah. So that means they don't believe that the Most High God has authority over the authorized English translation of the Bible. When English is the world's dominant language. Do they believe Satan has dominion even after Jesus' finished work on the cross? He fulfilled Genesis 3:15. He crushed the Serpent Seed's head (dominion) by sowing The Good Seed into Israel on Calvary. That's crucial to understanding why Jesus is King of kings & Lord of lords. Praise His Holy Name (DNA) which is above all names. Everybody knows your true identity is verified in by your DNA.

The problem with defining Torah as law is that it leaves out the rest of Torah (the first five books). Instructions would be more correct. Thus Adam and Eve did sin. To do Gods will is righteousness to do your own will instead of his is sin. Sin brings death. Bulls and goats died in our place. Then Jesus came and made the ultimate blood sacrifice. He wiped our sins away, cleared our debt, gave us amnesty. Now we have a new beginning, a fresh start. To do our will? No! To do his will. Doing his will brought blessings. Doing our will brought the curse and the necessity of animal sacrifices. If we have faith we do his will and get his blessings. Jesus said to live by every word that came out of the mouth of God. Johns baptism was unto repentance. What did he expect us to repent to. God! How do we do that? We do his will. What is his will? To keep Torah and get blessings. Jesus also said if you want these things to seek ye the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Do we love God? Do we believe God? Do we trust God? Let's keep his Torah and reap the blessings. Amen

The Torah Family's most recent video, "A Response to Mr. Solberg on The Tutor," though he did his own studies, summarized everything a few of us have been telling you, and it clearly states that the Spirit of God is the one that is teaching us according to what God made clear when he first spoke. With this being said, it is clear and sad to say that the Spirit of God is not the one teaching you. When you get to the book of Galatians, understand what the problem among the believers was in Galatia. 1) They were being taught that one receives the Holy Spirit through works of the law, 2) that righteousness comes through the works of the law, and 3) that justification comes through the works of the law. That is what was being taught, and the Apostle Paul was correcting that without dismissing God's law. You need to humble yourself and let the Spirit of God teach you instead of allowing your theology to get in the way, and I am not being malicious when I state this. Rob Solberg, you are eating grass; I hope that, like Nebuchadnezzar, you come to your senses.

Did you watch that video from Torah Family, Sam? Oh my goodness, it was...let's say troublesome. Not only because of the false things Steve said about me, and not only because of the way he mischaracterized my positions, but also because the theology he teaches is very dangerous. He said, "Walking in obedience to the Torah keeps you in your salvation." What?! So it's up to us to keep our salvation by keeping the law of Moses? In other words, Saturday Sabbath, kosher food, the Torah feasts, and circumcision are matters of salvation? That's dangerous stuff, my friend. I suggest you find a better teacher to listen to. @@TheBiblicalRoots What is important to know is that the Apostle Paul is speaking to believers in the faith, and if so, why is he telling them that faith without works is dead and that faith apart from works is useless? Because, just as the body is dead without the spirit, so is faith without works. James is sharing a scriptural truth on this when he asks the question, "Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son upon the alter?" Then he follows with, "Seest thou how faith wrought works, and by works was faith made perfect?" He continues, "You see then how a man is justified not only by faith but also by works." So, faith in Yeshua is all we need for salvation, but faith should produce works, and if it doesn't, it is dead. It is like saying they are bench warmers; they are on the team but not playing. So, obedience to God's laws is what faith produces, which has nothing to do with salvation. The problem with you is that you have been engraved with the lie that anyone who observes God's law is working for salvation and that God's laws, which you call Moses' laws, are done away with, and that is not what is being said. Tell me, if it is Moses' laws, what laws did Moses keep-his own laws or God's law? Rob Solberg, when you read what I posted, read it from the Scriptures. I made it clear that I do not follow this guy; I do not even subscribe to his channel, and more importantly, I do not lean on theologians' teachings because all they will teach is what they have been engraved with: a lie. That lie is so powerful that only God can make one see that a lie has been implanted in them, which is why you will not weigh what is said truthfully because you are ignorantly or deliberately blinding yourself from Scriptural truth. The reality is that you want nothing to do with God's laws. The question you made-in other words, that Saturday Sabbath, kosher food, the Torah feasts, and circumcision are matters of salvation-just demonstrates that you do not understand what is being said. This person made it clear in his video that he was not saying that one works for salvation, and if he did, I would refute him according to the Scriptures, which God made clear the first time he spoke. He is not mischaracterizing your positions; he is just refuting your view. Neither is he speaking theology; he is speaking according to the Scriptures. It is preferable for you to admit that you are not speaking according to the Scriptures and correct your books rather than continue to mislead God's people. Instead of going into the Scriptures with what you believe, go into the Scriptures to see what God has to talk to you about.

Ty brother Solberg! Galatians 3:21-22 KJV - Is the law then against the promises of God? What nation is there so great that it has statutes and judgments "so righteous" as all this law which I set before you this day? When Yeshua said that he came not to destroy the Torah (God's instructions), he did not alter, nor loosen or break God's law, so to state that God's laws are not required but permissible, is not only a diabolical statement being made, but satan is speaking himself, causing many to bear false witness against the Son of God, Yeshua. You (Rob Solberg) are bearing false witness against Yeshua, the Son of God. You are eating grass, and my hope is that you come to your senses as did King Nebuchadrezzar. You have taken the story of the prodigal son and applied it to Yeshua as one who rebelled against his Father, a Yeshua that is filling his belly with the husks that the swine eat until he comes to his senses. Solberg: Glad you are attempting to "rightly divide" Galatians 3, which you cannot do ignoring the earliest copy we have of Galatians 3. Don't forget, the prophet Malachi had this warning for ALL, BEFORE the Great and Dreadful Day of YHWH, which included those in the 1st century until TODAY, since this Great Dredful Day, prophesied time has not yet come: Malachi 4:4 “Remember the law of my servant Moses, the statutes and rules that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel". The earliest copy of Galatians 3 from about 145-150 A.D. you will find below. Please notice that the verses which you anti-nomians "rub your hands together and salivate over", when trying to support your aversion toward God's laws, did not even exist in the earliest copies of Galatians. One thing we can know for sure, if Marcion had copies with those verses in it, he definitely would not have left them out. Those would have perfectly fit his theology. The scribes from the Gentile churches would have added those verses later. So when you exegete on Galatians 3, please do so from the earliest copy of Galatians, vs the modernized one which we have today, which reads as follows, ***no schoolmaster*** is ever illuded to, and most of all, ***no terminal point of the Law/Torah*** when Messiah arrived: Galatians 3: 13 But the law is not of faith: but the one that does these things shall live in them. Christ has ransomed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: as it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree, 14 That we might receive the blessing of the Spirit through faith. 26 For all of you are children of the faith, 3:15 (yet) as a man I speak.

Rob, it is true that after faith has come, one is no longer under a schoolmaster, but this statement is only true if there was no Tanakh. What am I trying to convey? Christians have been engraved with the lie that God's laws are done away with, and this lie has caused them to avoid the Tanakh when studying verses like Galatians 3:25. It is safe to state that Jeremiah 31:31-34 is exactly telling us why one will no longer be under a schoolmaster. As God said, he will write his laws in our inward parts and hearts, so there will be no need for man to teach them. Now that they are stored inwardly, the righteousness of the law will be fulfilled in us who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit (Romans 8:4). The Apostle Paul was able to say that we are no longer under a schoolmaster because he understood exactly what Jeremiah 31:31 through 34 was stating. The lies that Christians have been engraved with have caused them to not take the scriptures as a whole.

@@billyhw5492 Let me correct the statement; Christians want nothing to do with God's laws! Rome, emperors like Constantine, and the Council of Nicaea contributed to this because they wanted nothing to do with the Jews and the God of Israel. They taught against God's laws, engraving into the minds of the Gentiles who became believers the lie that they did not have to observe God's laws. And now theologians are teaching the lie that has been taught throughout the centuries. Some teach this lie through ignorance and some teach this lie deliberately, and when one continues to aggressively against God's law, that person wants nothing to do with God's laws. If you study Galatians 3:25 in the context of Jeremiah 31:31 through 34, you will still not see a scriptural truth because the lie that you have been engraved with is embedded in you as with glue, not allowing you to see a scriptural truth. I heard a minister once say, many sing the song, "Open my eyes, Lord, I want to see Jesus," and you hear God responding, "If I open your eyes, you will still not see him." That is because they really want nothing to do with Yeshua. In the same manner, Christians would ask God to open their eyes to Jeremiah 31:31 through 34, and they still won't see a scriptural truth because the lie they have been engraved with causes them to want nothing to do with God's law. This lie is embedded deeply. Just like Rob said in this video, and if I recall that he is here to point out a false teacher, I am here not to point out Rob as a false teacher, but to show that it is the scriptures that point him out as a false teacher when it comes to God's laws.

You must read the word and know what’s covenant living. Divorce is not.

@@TheBiblicalRoots Well that’s what people are always talking about in this world. food and drink. What they are eating. Food food food…We have become a bunch of foodies here in the west and our health proves it! So what Paul is saying here is about all the Nonsense with the food idolatry. Get over it!!!! God defines food in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14 for us. It’s that simple.

In your last video you ask me to clear something up for you and I did but you seem to ignore my response, So again I will response to your last question about clearing up what I stated. If the instruction that God gave, is permissible and not required like what you are stating, then why is God going to punish all the nation for not observing the feast of tabernacle? If you think this is for the end time judgment only then you would be mistaken. Because why would God punish a nation if they did not know they should be observing it in the first place, is it because the torah is for everyone, Paul stated in defense against those who accuse him teaching against the torah, that he believes everything that is in accordance with the torah and that is written in the Prophets. So, is Paul a hypocrite, speaking from both side of his mouth?

Paul only taught the same thing the Messiah taught and that was not the law of Moses. They both taught about the kingdom of God.

If Paul was teaching the law of Moses, at least to the gentiles, then I would expect to see the sabbath law in the 4 commands give to gentiles in Acts 15. It just isn't there.

5:52 _'...not allowing comments comes across like an unwillingness to engage with, or even allow, opposing viewpoints...'_ Here's an opposing viewpoint: Why did Jesus not fulfil the prophecies of the first testament (which said nothing about the Messiah being tortured to death and consequently coming twice)? In the first testament the Jews are Gods chosen people and the rest of the world is his enemy, why does the second testament completely turn the first on its head by making the rest of the world now the chosen ones and the Jews God's enemy? Why would God have been so lovey dovey with the Jews in the first testament when he knew it was them who would be responsible for the torture and murder of his forthcoming son? There's many more things that don't add up between the first and second testaments!

Solberg does a wrong distinction between faith in G-d and obedience to G-ds Torah The instructions + a distinction between the Laws to Adam and the the Torah. Jesus is the Living Torah and therefore he did not broke the written Torah. What Solberg does is to separate the Tanach and the Gospels & the Letters, so we get now two bibles and not one. The people who can see one Bible will discover that the Gospel is in the Tanach and the Torah and the Torah is in the Gospels and the letter. G-d does not say one thing first and then Change. This is said by G-d himself. I am G-d and I do not change. To be under the law means to be under the law and being not born again. But have the very same Law( Torah) in the heart means to be born again. Yes he Torah save us from sins if we obey the commandments, this gives us an outer righteousness but the born again gives an inner righteousness . We have here two kinds of righteousness. Atthe same time the Gospel is also timeless, therefore people could be G-ds children before Christ. By this we have a whole Bible, But Solberg view two Bibles which is the vire of the Lutherens Theology and those who build up everythiong on Jesus in such a way that all starts with him

Jesus brought us a much higher law than the law of Moses. Stop living in the prefigurment, and start living in the fulfillment. And it's perfectly okay to spell God correctly.

Hi Folke. You are so right that God does not change! But His commands can and do. God told Noah he could eat literally anything (Gen 9:1-3). But later at Sinai, God gave Israel a big list of animals they were not to eat (Lev 11). Did God change? No! He gives different commands to different people at different times. And the food laws were for Israel alone. They are no longer in effect under the New Covenant. Shalom, Rob

@@billyhw5492 No he did not, He was standing on it and practice it and so gave us an example. However to be a Jew is much much much better and deeper that to be a Christian. The Christian culture has twisted the Scripture and taken it out from the context. Much of the twisted explanation is not even marked in the Gospel and the Letter. Such as the verse 16 in Psalm 22: " they pierced my hands and my feet" then it actually is written: " Like a Lion may hand and feet" How can you play with the word of HaShem like this? How can anybody trust what you are promoting?

@@billyhw5492 Billy HW seems not to understand the Torah at all. Yes it was very good to be living in the antic Israel. But the written Torah is not enough to understand the deep truth of Judaism You need the Oral Torah also. To be a slave in the antic Israel was more to be employed in a working in the farm.
