My Dad is 78 years old now and still doing good except for his vision. This is his all-time favorite song. Gets us everytime…

My legally blind 78 year old Dad is in a temporary assisted living home for either 3 to 4 weeks or most likely even permanently, because he’s loving it there. After lunch he wants me to sing this song (his favorite of all-time) a cappella tomorrow for all his home friends to here. So I’m going to. I feel very honored and reverent to do it. I’m gonna do it as long as I don’t start cracking up or crying. Please, for anyone reading my comment, pray for me to glorify the Lord esp. tomorrow but everyday. And not start crying. Im sure they don’t want me to cry, they want me to sing. I need to be strong. God in Heaven please bless my singing gift that you gave me at birth to glorify your name in Christ’s name. Amen…Thanks everybody.

In the name of JESUS CHRIST, I command that spirit of fear to be loosed from you and that the holy spirit fills you with his love, joy, and peace.

I love this song. Has brought me much comfort, as well. Another one that has given me comfort through anxiety is, PEACE IN THE MIDST OF THE STORM by Kim Hopper with the Hoppers

Worked with my boyfriend (now ex husband) during college at the local radio station and remembered when this came out. Best version of all, still brings me to tears.

The Hemphills use to sing at our " Homecomings " at church when we had dinner on the ground and singings all day long. Precious precious memories! I loved them so much...Loved Candy! I also sang in our small country church choir. "Beech Grove Baptist Church" until I was 18;). Still love everyone there to this day. Most were my family. Brother Bishop baptized me at that church in 1979 and gifted me a Bible and wrote in it. We had an outdoor baptism and the water was sooooo cold. The morning I was baptized they lifted the top and there was a snake in there!!! Ha! A SNAKE! Satan was trying from the beginning to hold me back, lol!!! TO NO AVAIL!! I was just a little thing.. 7 years old. Had only been moved back from Atlanta where i was born, for about a year! Brother Bishop ( our preacher) his son Bobby, was my choir teacher, but he also gave me piano lessons. Both have passed now but those were absolutely some of the best days of my life and definitely the most precious memories!!!! Love this song so much!! ✝️ 🙌 🌸 🐦

You have no idea how many of us have searched (unsuccessfully) to find this, the ORIGINAL recording of " Consider the Lilies." You are correct that it is the best. I use to own this album but it got destroyed in a flood. What a shame The Hemphills did not release their original recordings Greatest Hits because the originals were the best. They also had some live recordings that were really, really good. THANKS....for posting!
