Johnson sees the value of GM headcoach cohesion. He turned down Washington last year and sees the success that Dan Quinn and Adam Peters are having because everyone is pulling in the same direction. If the Bears land Ben Johnson and Lance Newmark, their fans should be very excited.

People probably don’t remember the story. When Flores was the coach in Miami he wanted Justin Herbert the Miami Gm wanted Tua . That was the power struggle in why he got fired! The Gm wanted Flores to start Tua when he wasn’t ready to be an NFL quarterback! And he wouldn’t!!

It is the way of the Chicago Bears. This team has not been right since Michael McCaske fired Mike Dikta. Out of the couple of good years with Lovie Smith. The Bears have been a bad team. I have been watching them since 1968. And the one constant thing has been Screwing up the QB. The last time Chicago had an offensive team to be feared was 1985. I truly believe the Bears are cursed. There is no other awnser. They have had 2 top 10 QBs in the last 5 years. At this point, CW is probably ruined as a QB. At least JF could use his speed to get away when the O-line collapsed. CW is not as fast as JF . But the end results were the same running for their lives. Chicago has always been a team that likes having a hard nose Defense. At this point, the only thing we can count on is the McCaske will make the wrong choice. Chicago were QBs go to die.☹️☹️😦

Few thoughts: firstly- dont put stock in this report. It's not reliable. Second: dont put stock in the report that Ben Johnson wants his own team. If it's true that he's willing to interview with the Bears then he is also willing to work with Poles. There's not a candidate in the league that has the leverage to fire his interviewer. Finally, if chicago were to fire Poles then it would be onMonday. Otherwise, he and Johnson will interview and if they dont click then the Bears will go elsewhere. It's important that Bears fans accept that the direction of this team will be determined by Ryan Poles at this point.

Poles needs to go but Caleb is going to get the next coach fired anyway unless the bears build a super team around him. He’s just an average qb. That’s his ceiling. That doesn’t mean he can’t win, but you’re not winning “because of him”. And he probably won’t even get to average until it’s time to pay him and the bears won’t and shouldn’t pay him qb money to be average. Drafting him set this organization back a half a decade or more

Bears need a HC with experience who the players will respect. If they gamble on a first time head coach and it backfires, they'll be back to square one and rebuilding the roster. They could be in the wilderness for another decade. Gimme Vrabel or Carroll over Johnson or Brady. This franchise can't take another bust right now.

Experience isn’t everything. Look at the NFC playoff teams and how many are coached by 1st time HC who were OCs- Siriani, McVay, LaFleur and O’Connell. Add to that list Shanahan who when he makes the playoffs he goes to a minimum of the NFC championship game. I’ll take that HR swing over a double in Vrabel or Carroll when we finally have a generational QB.

Actually fact check.. flores wanted to draft Hebert... but my personal opinion is sometimes defensive coordinators are just good at that specific job.. spags is a perfect example... I would love Rex Ryan to go back to jets because jets got a defense but Rex is balanced he will fix o line and get that running game going.. but flores is just great at the position he is in.. he is not a head coach.. Established successful HC, 11 10+ win seasons, SB winner, Offensive play caller, gets the best out of QBs, even back-ups, has worked with difficult owner and has worked in the NFC North.
