But do not be troubled or sad. The Lord sometimes allows people who are devoted to Him to fall into such dreadful vices; and this is in order to prevent them from falling into a still greater sin--pride. Your temptation will pass and you will spend the remaining days of your life in humility. Only do not forget your sin. St. Seraphim of Sarov

Father I think you have found your own little bit of heaven there. It certainly is beautiful....Father I am undergoing treatiment for advanced cancers on my scalp that will require reconstructive surgery and I am worried. My heart says to trust in the Lord but the voice in my head is my enemy. Please pray that I stay strong and trust in HIM. Thank you my dear Fr Seraphim.

Thank you so much for your prayers, dear one. I do hope that my strength is back, because in about two weeks we go on our annual pilgrimage to Romania. We are all SO looking forward to being surrounded by the hundred of monasteries, sketes and hermitages, parish churches, holy icons, holy relics, monastics, services, singing, frescoed walls... the incomparable beauty of that part of the world I call my monastic home.

Thank you for this video, Father Seraphim. I loved seeing St Kenneth’s island and hope to be able to visit it during another pilgrimage! l so agree with you that BEING in such places cannot be compared to just reading about them.

I wish I could put everyone in my pocket and take you all with me to all these places, dear Maria. Not only these ones, but also the lesser known ones, the caves in the coasts of Mull, accessible only at low tide and hidden behind waterfalls, their walls covered with crosses and chalices dated to the 500s. There is so much LIFE in the faith of these Saints, no sign of spiritual 'blandness' - truly the Salt of the earth!

You’ve got me sold dear Father Seraphim on making a pilgrimage to Iona one summer in the future. Yes, one must see and touch as Thomas did when he touched Christ Jesus after his resurrection. Also, as Chaucer describes in his Canterbury Tales, one will hear stories from those people from different countries who one meets for the first time.

Dear Fr. Seraphim, thank you for making these kinds of videos. They are informative as they are beautiful. I was aware there was a history of monasticism on the islands, but you clearly show the very places where the saints lived. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦.

Thank you so very much Fr Seraphim, for sharing this beautiful video of the pilgrimage and the history of St Kenneth's Isle. It fills one with a deep sense of gratitude for the lives of those who have lived and prayed so long ago in the early years of the Church's history and thanks be to God, continues now to this very day. I am grateful too for your ongoing prayers for all of us in touching our hearts and keeping us bound in this way to our early roots. With an assurance of ongoing prayers for you and all your community from this Care facility in Dunedin, New Zealand. 'Tis 4.40am on Saturday here and i am praying for you in the midst of our winter! Blessings abundant be yours.

Do you believe that Brendan went as far west as North America? There are legends here in North America that the Celts made it as far west as the Appalachian mountains and foot hills. Ogham Petroglyph (or having the appearance of Ogham) can be fond all throughout Appalachia and New England.

Seriously? How intriguing.
@mullmonastery Жыл бұрын
I have heard that from many sources, dear one. I personally think it is perfectly possible but, to be honest, I find it entirely irrelevant. For them, discovering a new continent would have been a failure, because they were not explorers looking for new adventures; these are Saints, they were out to find Christ or to die trying - the real calling of us all.
@jeffreyhoward6319 Жыл бұрын
@@mullmonastery It would be so much more than just relevant for us here in North America if Celts had come here not only bearing the Gospel of Christ but seeking Him in the quest as well. The people of Appalachia are predominantly Celtic in origin and some of us have been inspired and called to seek their example of the green martyrdom.
