I think Legend protected the seagulls for more than just Wind's feelings. Remember, in the golden ending of Link's Awakening, there's a heavy hint that Marin has somehow survived as a seagull. He never sees her again, but she really did have a kinship with the birds. I think he's protecting her.

I personally saw legends expressiveness as him technically being a toon link like Four and Wind. They got dem EYES!!! Also I think that seagull thing was less because Wind likes them and more because Marin wished to be one. I think he's still holding on hope that she's still out there somewhere. Lastly as for the scar, my personal headcanon is that Vio did it. That link is a menace and he knows it.

This was so good!! I really love how legend is always the first to jump to the worst conclusions. Like when wild took a sword to the face, legends first thought is “HES DEAD” he seems like the most fearful so far out of the whole chain with the most anxieties ALSO, I like to think he tells the story of his arm scar by describing an intense fight with Ganon and that was his battle trophy, but really it was his first day on the job and he tripped and cut himself falling down the well in kakariko trying to get that treasure chest

I read this fanfic where Legend was frequently unable to tell if his surroundings were real or a dream and he would cut himself (never fatally) to see if he was dreaming because he still felt pain on Koholint. It could be that.

Legend’s scar I saw as possibly one he got from the flames in the combined Oracles ending. Sky’s “Yeesh” sells that it isn’t a pretty sight. Plus I love his tsundere attitude.

I mean, Sky’s kind of easily queasy when his reincarnations start talking about their battle scars. In another image, Wild is talking about the scarring indicates that either his left ear was blown off or was just barely dangling on by a few sinews, and that the Shrine fully fixed it. Sky is barely holding his lunch in and wishing they’d change the subject.

Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for putting me in the video! It's a create honor considering that I really like your videos! Thank you! Legend is one of my favorite characters, I love the idea of the 'veteran hero', the great Legend. He is so complex and has many layers which so interesting. I personally see Legend as an older brother, just like Twilight is, but in a less 'mama-cucco' way, because of his experience he can see the real dangerous stuff where he needs to step in, he trusts that the younger heros knows what they are doing, since they all survived their adventures. What you said about all the interactions he has with the other heros are so true! I have nothing special to add, but one point, I personally think that Legend stopped Wild from killing a seagull because of Marin. In the game, when Marin and Link are talking on the beach, she says that she want to be a seagull and fly across the sea, away from the little island to see the world, and in the extra scene of the game in the switch that you have if you complete the game without dying you have a scen where a seagull fly high and Marin appears on the landscape (I don't remember if the scene was like this but it was a sort of like this), so maybe Legend wants to belive that Marin got her wish. The whole thing about him and Zelda been siblings is just a headcannon, since in the japanese verision it said something like "Zelda is your resposability..." (I am not sure on this, since it's all informations I got from different videos, which I whatched a long time ago, so needs to be checked). Even it would be a very big plot point if the two are actually related: 1. Having the blood of the Hylia 2. He would also be related to Sky, it would be very poetic the fact the Sky created the Master Sword and Legend restored it, even if not to her full power. (I also think that he calls himself a 'nobody'in that pannell is a bit strange, it may be because he is the 'lost prince') I don't think the others knows that there kinda are two Master Swords in the group, I think Legend wouldn't keep it a secret activaly, maybe he is ashamed that he 'ruined' the Holy Blade since it's not as powerful as before? A thing that he could have in common with Wild. There is also the whole situation with Time, since I don't think both Leg and Hyrule have realized that Time is the Fallen Hero, because he doesn't have a title in their timeline, maybe Legend is starting to understand it a little thanks to the stories of Wind and Twilight, or at least he has some questions. The whole Ravio's deal is a very big mess.... Because Ravio isn't a "Dark Link" like Four's Shadow or the Dink that is following them, Ravio is reflection of him. Maybe the ones who had negative expirinces with their dark versions would not trust him at first? But I would see Twilight and Four (if Shadow is like in the comics) be the first ones to be on Ravio's side with Legend. Ravio could bring a big conflict between Legend and Hyrule, since Hyrule got that very horrible scare from the fight from his Shadow self (if I am not wrong). It would be interesting to see if by using Legend's Magic Mirror in Twilight's world it could be possible to go to the Twilight Realm because tecnically they are the same worlds of different timelines, and in Twilight Princess, Midna shatters a Mirror. With Four I think Legend will be very disturbed by seeing him split, and at that moment he would start to treat him differently, but I would see this happening when everyone sees Four split, not alone like with Wild. Of course I'm going to credit you for your idea! It was really good! :D For the Seagull, if you watch the Link's Awakening Lets Play I've been doing with my friend, I have this realization, and mentally I'm sitting there like "I already recorded this, do I want to go back???" but yeah, I 100% agree. So Legend and Zelda be related, It was in the English dub of the game, the footage I used was from the Playthrough my friend and I did, and we had the fixed text, I should have found the original to show my point a little better... That is true about the master sword, I don't know I don't think the fact we have two of them in the party ever comes up... That's true, Time wouldn't have his hero title in the downfall timeline! I really can't wait until they realize what's going on! About Ravio and Hyrule, oh goodness, problems could happen very easily! That would be really interesting what would happen if Legend uses the Magic Mirror in Twi's time, but also it takes someone from the Dark World to the Light, not the other way around... True, I think Legend would see Four split happen in the big group and not alone, it would do some overlap in story telling. I never realized how much Legend is still affected by all the loss he has suffered. I always thought he was the modt battle hardened of them all, but seeing expressions on Twilights almost death, him still being deeply affected by Marin... He is not battle hardened, he's battle scarred. He's really sweet, caring about others without outright telling it, it makes me wonder how he would have been if he had not gone through all his traumatic adventures.

i just want to add, that i think Legends fondness for seagulls stems less from wind and more from Marin. as in game she mentions how she wishes she could be a seagull and leave the island and when you get the 'secret' ending of Links awakening after the island is gone link looks out over the ocean seeing a group of gulls and seeing Marin's smile. So perhaps he has a rule of not hunting gulls in a way it feels like hurting Marin. and if Wind likes them too, thats just a added bonus and maybe a bonding moment

Heck yeah, Downfall Duo videos first! I was hoping that this timeline would win the vote. This video is great and points out a lot of nuances to Legend's character that I didn't see before. Like how he is really expressive or how he is slowly opening up to the other Links as the comic progresses. I appreciate the dedication you are putting into this series. I am super excited for the next one cuz Hyrule is my absolute favorite Link. I like him mainly because of how grueling his games are juxtaposed with how humble he is portrayed in LU. Just a note: what you called the 'Dark World' from a Link Between Worlds is actually Lorule, which is an alternate universe of Hyrule similar to Termina from Majora's Mask. Lorule originally had its own Triforce, however, Lorule's royal family chose to destroy it due to the wars it caused. Lorule has no connection to the Dark World from previous games in the Fallen Timeline.

Well, Legend was already in 4 games and then there was link between worlds which is almost a remake of Link to the past, so making them the same hero was pretty understandable- Then the Hero of Hyrule has 2 games. There are just a lot more games in the downfall timeline then the other two timelines combined.

MAH BOI boy i love Legend so much i have been waiting for his episode for ages Ive never actually heared the theory of him being more expressive was from the four sword, thats pretty interesting I really love reading ideas for the scar on his right arm. I like to think it was from his first adventure, maybe while being chased by guards. Also for the red blade, if I remember correctly, it was the second level for the blade that made it red, but then you bring it to a great fairy and then it's turned gold The black smith's stuff opens up first, then later on in the game the great fairy opens up, but I could be wrong, I can check again later

Curious thing - Four swords (the first one, if I remember correctly) had TWO endings One where Link defeats Vaati, and one where he fails (runs out of time) So, I'd guess that corrupted Four is from his failed timeline :D (There's also a great theory that "fallen hero" timeline comes from THIS event, not from Time - there're lots of reasons to think that, one of them being the fact that only in fallen timeline we have to face Vaati again, nowhere else - cause Four failed to defeat him)

32:50 don’t know if anyone else answered this yet but jojo actually confirmed that legend and fable will not be siblings in LU on the discord server. Also iirc she made some kind of uhh chart (?) with the links and their relations with the Zelda’s, and legend is with three (3/5) hearts more on the romantic side. We don’t know much but he’s above four who also has three hearts and who is apparently slightly flirtatious with his Zelda.

I think you also overlooked one key detail about the Seagulls. It's hard to remember as it is a very short point you touched upon in the Link's awakening game, but Marin wishes to be a Seagull to fly away and see the world, as well as share her song. Legends possibly holds a level of compassion for them in honor of her as well as his fellow Link's love for them.

Fun fact, you can take Marin to the place where you learn the world is a dream and get the 5th(?) dungeon key. She'll sit outside and when you exit, she'll be there when the owl explains everything, sadly she doesn't react. Although I think it would be interesting if she did, at least in a way of denial, not understanding it, or flat out having her reality shattered. Just to add to the complexity of it all.

Great video! Legend has to be one of my favorites sheerly because of the amount of games he’s been in. He has to be one of the coolest heroes of all. I do hate to be the “umm actually” person, but the sword he fights with looks more like the tempered sword (level2) not the golden sword(level3) or fully leveled up. I would also like to say that legend might want wild to shoot the seagulls in doodles because at the end of links awakening it is heavily implied that the seagull at the outro animation is Marin, and legend didn’t want that seagull to be Marin.

The Tempered swords blade is red while the golden swords is gold, LU has his sword blade gold, but it does have the Tempered swords hilt. It's kind of like how Legends hats color is actually a bit off, the colors are a bit off to flow better together. And yes, the seagull thing. It could be both tbh. They both like seagulls and it shows both of them appreciating them. (Legend and Wind)

Yessss this video does our boy justice. Just out of curiosity if anyone knows, I’ve seen a lot of people writing Legend with arthritis…where does that come from? Has Jojo mentioned it anywhere, or is that fanon? I love it either way I’m just curious

The Arthritis is Fanon, he never mentions anything like that in the comic (if I remember correctly (I reread Legend related pages and chapters literally 15 times (prob more) to make sure I got everything, but I do still miss stuff))

Good gosh, his very first adventure and he literally lost 3 important people (and brings them back but still) and then he kills Four, only for the next ones to then lost Marin (and the whole island population) and in the next one then his uncle possibly died again. Man, Legend is having a bunch of bad times in very quick succession quite canonically.

Just, a small comment, dunno if someone else said it. While I do think it has partly to do with Wind loving seagulls, I also thinks Legend protected it because of the connexion between Marine and seagulls (hence the complicated expression on his face, on the pic where there is one on top of Wind'shead)

The thing is A Link between Worlds has featured a new Incarnation of the Hero. Otherwise everyone would worship him or at least *remember* him (Zelda and Link dont know each other at all) And also between Ganon's Resurrection in the Oracle Games and in A Link between Worlds was another era for his resurection. This Legend in the Prologue is NOT A Link to the Past retold it is a Different story all together with new sages, a new Hero who has probably nothing to do with the A Link to the Past Incarnation and a new Zelda, in a Link to the Past the Full Triforce was obtained by the Hero, here the Triforce was Split again and Ganon was somewhere imprisoned with the Triforce of Power within him. This is just a Tale featuring a Non-Playable Link happening after the Era of the Hero of Legend and before the A Link between Worlds incarnation, this is however not something uncommon since in The Minish Cap and Four Swords were in the Prologue a Hero mentioned that we didnt play at all. The same thing happened in A Link between World's Prologue and even in the Poster in Breath of the wild

We know they are different Links, but said at the beginning, this comic features a Link, the hero of Legend, who is a combined version of these Links. There are 3 heroes who are combined with different heroes, Legend is one of them, then there's Four who is The hero of four and the hero of the minish, then there's Wind who is the Hero of the Wind and the Hero of Spirits.

Um...I don't think Legend is the same link from ALBW? I think in that game they clearly state that this is a NEW Link cause you meet an old man in Kakariko village that is STRONGLY hinted at being the Link from ALTTP. Edit: NVM, I didn't realize Jojo fused those two links together!

@@laceforest6892 If I remember correctly, and I think it has something to do with the "Street Pass" but in Kakariko Village, there's an old man named "Gramps" in the game where, if you use the Street Pass, you can fight him. His player name is "Legendary" and he is one of the HARDEST fights in the game. The gear that he uses in the fight has people theorizing that he's supposed to be the hero from "A Link to the Past."

@@laceforest6892 Another thing that strongly suggests that Link from ALBW is not the hero of legends is the intro scene of ALBW, it looks like a mix of OoT and A Link to the Past. This mixing of historical events suggests that many years have passed since A Link to the Past, probably a few centuries. There are a few other hints to this, but the one above is the most obvious in my opinion. The Link from ALBW then appears in Triforce Heroes, which is his latest adventure. The last adventure of the Hero of Legends should be the Oracle games, if I remember correctly. A great video, as always.

I can appreciate more credit going to Legend, and I am admittedly unfamiliar with the source material, but it's strange folding "the New Hero of Hyrule" into the Hero of Legend's stories. Ironically I never got much sequel vibes from "Triforce of the Gods 2" lol
