This is what the news agency that posted this video chose to show because of... 1. Like you said most of it definitely wasnt appropriate for TV. 2. Most inportantly FCC rules and penalties for violating these rules. You can probably find all the body camera and security camera footage from the incident somewhere if you knew what you're looking for also if you have the patience. Micah used suppressive fire to force the officer to go back into cover, then immediately ran around the far side of the pillar to appear behind him. The officer peeked out of cover again to return fire, but was then shot from behind. Really sad. Can't imagine being in that situation.

It’s not that all officers are bad-it’s the system is deeply and fundamentally flawed and that it’s failures are COMPLETELY unacceptable and DEMAND reform. Obviously, we see heroes in this video. No entire thing is inherently bad, but it’s the individual instances that show us we need and deserve change as a society. The protest part was. This part was not. I’m not in DPD, but I live in Dallas and I remember at the beginning we didn’t know that the police were the targets and thought it was another mass shooting. It ended up obviously being a whole black supremacy thing with police being the targets, but in the stories of protestors and cops alike, I often heard that people were taking pictures with officers and that the officers were very respectful and helpful.

That actually was a very peaceful protest, signs, marching and actual conversation before and during. The protest was ending when the shooting began. And if you want you can actually find images of Dallas Officers using their bodies to shield protestors when he started shooting, until they could get innocents out of there. Officers didn't shy away from the danger and they did their best.
