Judging by how Sir Ansbach behaves, I think the Mogh and his lot were a lot more sophisticated, respectable and credible before Miquella charmed him, ‘I blame the charm more than anything’

@@DefecTec One thing that is very important for understanding this is: The charm is not mindcontrol, but instead calms the charmed one down and lets them forget about painfull and selfdestructive emotions and raises their loyalty to miquella due to him being some sort of messiah who forgives everyone and brings peace. Reason 1: Nothing ever defines or explains the charm as "mindcontrol". Ansbach only speaks of that miquella "shrives clean the heart of men" (shrive means to listen to someones confession and grand them forgiveness, mostly done by priests). He never says that the charm forces you to do anything. Reason 2: The npcs dont describe the charm as mind control once the spell broke. They all dont make a huge fuss about as you would expect if they were used as puppets and instead talk as if they only regained their emotions about something negative and harmful. Leda for example killed all other needle knights due to her not trusting others, but she didnt kill anyone once she was charmed. She says so herself that she trusted people more while she was charmed but now that the spell is broken begins to kill the others too. She feels paranoia again. morn was actually happy while he was charmed due to him forgetting the about pain he felt after being abondoned by marika. He finds a sort of new family in the companions of miquella, but he gets depressed once the charm broke. He feels the pain again. hornsent disliked the people of the lands between even while being charmed but still has a soft side which we can see if we give him the soup from his home. He gets filled with hate and revenge once the spell broke and tries to kill messmer and hates others again. he feels the loss again. Ansbach is sadend by the death of mohg, but still moves on for the greater good of others. He was feared soldiers in moghs army and killed countless innocent people, but acts now as a mentor for the other companions. He however remembers the guilt for failing his lord once the spell broke. His armor even tells us that there is no justice in killing miquella, but he still cant let go due to his feeling of guilt. he is even surprised if we help him and questions our senity, suggesting that it is unreasonable to go against miquella. This new age is with 100% certainty not the age of compassion as this age they are talking is based on the outer god of the formless mother who has nothing to do with miquellas new age. The age of compassion is based on miquellas crown of light ( we know this from the item descrition) However all begins to make sense if the spell is not mindcontroll as explained ealier. Mohg kidnapped miquella for his own goal as he needed an empyrien to start his new dynasty. He tries to corrupt miquella with blood offerings as blood is the domain of the formless mother and mohg. This is also supported by mohg talisman description. Miquella however is not helpless, he knew that mohg was planning to kidnapp him and used this oppertunity for his plan. Miquella needs a vessel for radahn and needs to acces the shadow lands as this is the place where the souls of the dead go (based on the tower description in the dlc) and where the gate of divinity is located. Mohg is the perfect oppertunity as he has both omenblood ,which would grand him acces to the shadow lands ( the land of the omen/ hornsent) and is a suitible vessel for his consort radahn. Miquella charmed mohg so that he wouldnt get suppiscous of him by suppressing the feelings of doubt and distrust so that he wouldnt intevine in his plan similar to ansbach who noticed and tried to kill miquella. mohg was oblivios to this as he is clearly still confinced that he will get his dynasty. This is the charm Ansbach talked about, mohg was unable to detect miquellas plan. This being said, mohg is a huge piece of sht and not innocent in the slitest. He killed countless innocent people as sacrifices to the formless mother ( we can see these corpses scatered around Mohggwyn palast) heck even on his spear are dead people. He died due to his own hubris and greed. He deserved his fate.

14:40 Ansbach probably didn't challenge a big cocoon, so it stands to reason Miquella had charmed Mohg sometime before cocooning himself.

My personal speculation is that Miquella probably visited Mohg when building Elphael on his Haligtree: Despite building their dynasty, the Pureblood and Mohg were still a shunned minority, I suppose Miquella to have taken the opportunity of a diplomatic travel to invite them to charm Mohg, and that would be when Sir Ansbach would have challenged him. That's also a good reasoning as to why Mohg would try to find him specifically, in the second most hidden place ever, to ascend a God of Blood: We don't know all that much about Miquella's abilities, but it's plausible that he genuinely tried to embed himself in the Haligtree to give it strength against Malenia's Rot, and when it failed he put into action the Shadow Consort Radahn overarching plot. (It's also possible that Miquella visited Mohg and Morgott in prison, possibly even when Morgott plead to serve the Golden Order, and that Miquella's charm was what pushed Mohg over the edge of calling for the Mother of Blood. Leading to Mohg unknowingly building his Dynasty as an army for Miquella, and that during the later speculated invitation to Elphael, Ansbach saw Miquella and realized the whole trickery and challenged him.)

Before Ansbach can distinguish Miquella's influence over Mohgwyn palace as something separate, he would have to know a genuine version of Mohg and his dynasty. Had Miquella influenced the vision from the start, Ansbach would likely not see anything out of the ordinary when Miquella was involved.

Alright, now here is my theory. Keep in mind, I'm a massive Mohg fangirl, I'd defend him to hell and back, but you're free to disprove my theory. Just be nice lol I interpret the phrase "The formless mother craves wounds" in a way that SHE craves those wounds being done to HER. As in, you'd actually use her own blood for the bloodflame magic. This is backed up by Mohg's weapon, where it says "Raise the sacred spear and pierce the body of the Formless Mother" and again "The mother of truth desires a wound". She does not desire blood sacrifice, she desires for her own blood to be sacrificed, if that makes sense. This further fuels the theory that Miquella wanted all of those blood sacrifices, and not Mohg. From what Ansbach says, I imagined the dynasty as a place where the shunned could come together and exist in peace, but also as some sort of military group. Those people who were shunned and hated by the Golden Order would get a place to live abd also probably employment by Mohg's dynasty, though that probably still involved killing. The Sanguine Nobles are a good example of that. As their hood description states, they are assassins and "missionaries come to share the gospel of the accursed blood", which to me sounds more like they're simply trying to tell you that the Formless Mother is much much cooler than Marika, instead of "We have a blood cult and we sacrifice people" since it's specifically about ACCURSED BLOOD (like the omen blood) and not just random blood. The Pureblood Knights to me are just Mohg's bodyguards (why a 3,5m tall dude who wields blooflame magic needs bodyguards is a mystery to me but whatever) and the beginning of an already growing army, maybe to one day be used to overthrow the Golden Order. Now I'm not saying he's a good guy, he still killed people, but none of the demigods is "good". They all do/did horrible things in the name of power. Now skip forward to Miquella and the charm. I firmly believe that the Bloody Fingers and Varré (who acts as the recruiter) only came AFTER Mohg was already charmed, to bring in more people who would murder in cold blood and accumulate the blood Miquella needed to gain entry to the lands of shadow. They were not in the plan for the original dynasty. So it was less Mohg and more Miquella who originally had the war surgeons kidnapped. I think I'm about done? I probably forgot a few things, but I'm typing this on my phone and literally can only read my last four sentences lol Again, feel free to disprove my theory, just be nice haha

It's actually bookended rather elegantly. Mohg's ambition was born when the Formless Mother showed him love for the first time in his life. It ended when he became enchanted by Miquella, whose love was so powerful as to "shrive clean the hearts of men." Which also sets up a fun little parallel between Mohg and the Tarnished-just as Varre tries to manipulate the player for being Maidenless, a life deprived of love left Mohg vulnerable to the manipulations of the Formless Mother. The Formless Mother, in turn, set Mohg up with that transactional view of love you mentioned, leaving him open to further divine manipulation-at least until Miquella came in and usurped her.

It almost sounds like Miquella speaking through him for that little bit of dialogue before he turns to talk to the player, then he sounds like himself. My head canon is that Godwyn, Morgott, and Mohg are different levels of golden order worship. Godwyn being the most devoted, being called the Golden, Morgott being between devotion and blasphemy, and Mohg completely regretting it. One motif I find very tragic about mohg is his obsession with an old, imagined past. He occupies a crumbling ruin from a long-dead ancient dynasty. He chants in Latin. Essentially, he wishes to elevate his standing through the trappings of an imagined regal past that has no connection to him. Given his brutal childhood, it makes sense that both he and Morgott clung to order in some ways, just in different forms. Perhaps his attempt to brandish the past was his attempt to regain his dignity.

I love the theory of the butterflies being footprint and makrs left by certain demigods! It could be an idea of it's own video and well worth checking! As when one of them (Miquella, Malenia, Melina and Messmer) uses their powers, in a way that leaves a mark. With Messmer as his power is uncontrollable he also leaves his embers in the wake but with others it's more subtle, Miquella most likely tries to be as stealthy as possible, Malenia's power is suppressed by the unalloyed gold and her own will and then Melina's power is unexplored really as we aren't 100% sure of she is the GEQ, a shard of GEQ or just an offspring of Marika with traces of the forbidden flame powers within. Butterflies and their positions may help figure out some of the movements of these characters prior to the game and even some of their motives! (It also may just be a huuuge rabbit hole and we'll all end up mad 🤯🔥).

The way I see who is the "bad guy" question between Miquella and Mohg is that both can be scum bags but maybe not completely evil based on their own respective lore, though clearly Miquella got what he wanted instead of Mohg And I never paid too much attention to the butterfly theory in general but since there are nascent butterflies randomly in the sewers, I think they mean more than meets the eye Though one thing (so far) I haven't seen anyone discuss is apparently Mohg kidnapped Miquella in his infant form and this is specifically shown in the beginning cutscene of Mohg holding a really tiny Miquella and later on mentioned by Gideon but while some can argue that the illustrator might not be completely accurate depicting the events of "The Shattering War" and despite his title of "All Knowing" Gideon is completely clueless on certain topics And all of that can be true but no one argues or says otherwise of this claim and I don't think FromSoftware didn't put this piece of information here for no reason so I have to ask: Wouldn't Miquella hate for his transformation to be interrupted, reverting even younger than he already was? And even more disturbingly did Mohg look at infant Miquella and think "oh yeah I'd marry this" (That would make Mohg look even worse if this is the case 💀) But what do you think?

You know what, Mogh's rise and fall is pretty similar to that of the hornsent . Because much like the hornsent, he was seduced in his case by the formless mother and especially Miquella in return for a new order. Only for him to be betrayed by Miquella. Kinda like Marika's betrayal in order to ascend to god hood. The circle was complete.

basically radahns body was rotted too bad to use as is, so miquella used mohg as a kind of clay to make it LOOK like radahn (look at the promised consorts elbows) and put radahns soul into it and puppeted him around (potentially, its still a point of contention if radahn was 100% willing at the time even if he had given consent before turning into a zombie)

it would appear as though mogh was allot more… sociable and the whole group is fairly sophisticated given how they collectively act.. okina being the exception. This being before Miquella charmed them all. Ansbach well admits that even he was charmed so its possible miquella took control of the whole group, you clearly being the intentional exception… miquella expects someone to at some point kill mogh and radahn for his objective

Miquella and Malenia are both empyreans which are the only entities allowed godhood, that’s why Mohg needed him. And why Malenia can turn into the goddess of rot.

Yes but the two fingers chose for them to be Empyreans under the greater will. Ranni and Miquella both discarded their Empryean flesh to be able to ascend to godhood without the greater will.

I'm not entirely sure how many of the allegations Mohg beat. Sure, he was probably getting Miquellested, but we know from his Great Rune that the pact with the Formless Mother was all him. We only know Ansbach after he was charmed and then set free, we don't know what he was like before the ordeal. But his item descriptions make it clear he was a fighter who relished combat, and he was all about the Formless Mother as well. So the Bloody Fingers may have always been as they are now. As for Mohg, if he aspired to Lordship, he would have needed to be the consort of a god, so he may have had need of an Empyrean anyway, but whether he would have abducted Miquella I cannot say. Ansbach's revulsion at using Mohg's corpse suggests not, but, who can say?

OK Ice Doll... >_> I have watched your video.. 1) In regards to Mogh ascending Miquella, I believe Mogh's original plan was to ascend himself. Given Miquella's location being the position the dead ancestral spirits occupy, I would wager he was meant to be some form of sacrifice or offering to the formless mother in his blood crucible (Which is a technology used to pierce the veil/ascend) - And when Miquella awoke to find he had been snatched from his tree (which would die without him) and all hope (of healing his sister, the world, offering godwyn a true death etc) was therefore lost- He seduced the seducer and, made the best of the worst situation. (Lets remember, even after attaining godhood, Miquella still needs to be in proximity to those he charms- So Mogh DID kidnap him) As per Mogh's remembrance, he received NO response from Miquella. 2) I think his ORIGINAL idea was to ascend to adulthood via the haligtree.... I have heard theories that the actual manner by which he did this after the haligtree was destroyed, was through Mogh... sharing his bed chamber... the japanese translation of Mogh's remembrance is more.. direct. But he came into s3kshual maturity via Mogh............. :| This is what Mogh essentially forced upon him... After all, he is literally inside of miquella when we meet him :( (Which I think may indicate [or at the very least demonstrates it is possible] Mogh's original intention to use Miquella's body to ascend originally- He is literally able to be inside of his body *vomits* ) 3) I think Mogh struck DURING the Caelid "disaster" (Vow being fulfilled imo). Perhaps this is why Radahn endured, to offer Miquella more time to adapt to the horrific situation, and keep Ranni from advancing during the 'set back'. (total speculation, and I have totally different theories about this as well but, still, a thought lol) And look. Finally..... Ansbach is a literal Demon Lord's right hand, of course he would be charming- Every demon lord ever is. He is wearing an actual mask to give off the vibes of a kindly old man- When he is in fact a maiden murdering serial killer. He is an old man who failed his objectively evil master, and is living in regret as a shell of himself after being defeated by Miquella. He is so foul, he would throw away 1000 years of compassion for the WRECK of a world he helped ruin, all because he is sad about Mogh's body being used (He himself said he wasn't even mad he was killed, just about the body being used) - Well, I don't see him shedding a tear over what MOGH did to MIQUELLA's body. Mogh's own remembrance, and the fetal position Miquella is in, don't radiate 'consent'. Conclusion: Allegations not beaten. Go directly to Jail. I enjoyed the video, it was a great distraction from what I am currently working on and I always LOVE getting into Miquella's lore and discussions about it :D Keep going! :D You have a great channel, when I am done with my granny vid I'll absorb ya content ^_^

INCREDIBLE THEORY, but I just have one question. At 20:17 you say Miquella was in Mogngwyn palace before he ever was in the cocoon. How does that work? If Miquella had already charmed Mohg why would Mohg steal him back? He was already there.

So I think Miquella first sought Mohg out in the Sewers, and then Mohg probably invited him to the Mohgwyn palace before Miquella went into the Haligtree. Probably there to discuss the scheme and that's where I think Ansbach tried to challenge Miquella but got charmed himself. And then after that Miquella went into the Haligtree but had planned for Mohg to rip him out. At least that is my theory anyway!

Not really seeing where Mogh wasint deserving.... a dynasty built on bloodshed is not very appealing. For me, miqs order is far more appealing....but! Rannis is more appealing still.

I’m curious as to know as to why miquellas order is more appealing then Mohg? Because all orders are built on bloodshed. And opposition of the dynasty will be honored rather than be vilified as an enemy. Not to mention blood is just another form of worship same as scarlet or any other outer gods form of communion. And to sum up why I disagree with miquellas whole plan is because you can’t build a world of love if you throw away your own.

@@bbgsp2k152You got me, there. Your right, theres no bloodless order in this game. I guess its more because Mogh's order seems more about bloodshed for bloodsheds sake. My interpretation of his order is basically just a glorification of bloodlust, weather in homage to his outer god or no. Sir Ansbach seems like a really cool guy, but even with what we know about Mogh I dont see what was so redeemable in his eyes. Thats not to say that Ranni is relatively any more redeemable, but she also didint make any excuses for what she did. She was mearly a player in a game she didint start, using what measures she had at her disposal to achieve her goals, and in my opinion, if there is to be a new order, the world is the better for it in hers.
