From the food to the diverse history Skopje is a fascinating case study in the Balkans.

Wow, so many statues. It's quite fascinating. The old town looks very cool, lots of nice scenic points and restaurants to check out. The National Museum looks like a great way to check out some more statues and artifacts too.

I have never been to this country, but I am highly motivated to go there because it is not a typical destination for the tourist masses, yet the country has a lot to offer for those who want to explore it. It seems that the people are friendly and the food is delicious, especially their kebab, which I have tasted in another country.

Yeah it sounds I do not need to go there during the winter. My allergies are horrible. I would probably just be miserable there during winter. And how cool are all of those statues, especially the one in the water. Lastly, your dinner looked delicious.

so you ARE heading to Tirana next?? exactly following my Sofia - Skopje - Tirana route!! lol. I didnt notice poor air quality there in March last year (Skopje) so interesting that you had issues especially as there didnt seem to be many clouds about. By the way, to BLOW you mind a fun fact - Cotton Candy here in Australia is 'Fairy Floss'. In the UK though it's 'Candy Floss'. How this differences came about I dont know. but WOW right?

I saw a series about Alexander not that long ago. I didn't know that he was from Macedonië before. Lots of history there and good good! 😊

Technically Alexander was Greek. The original Macedonians were a branch of Greeks that settled the North. I believe they spoke a unique dialect of Greek but, they did consider themselves Greek. The old Kingdom of Macedonia I believe covered what is now the Republic of Macedonia, a big chunk of Northern Greece and bits of Albania and Bulgaria.
