Just wanna note: the Undertale Mod Tool has got to be the most specific and random way to access a game's files. Especially since this is a Sonic fangame, not an Undertale or Deltraune mod. I'm generally not one for ARGs, but without people pointing it out to you, you would probably never guess to use such a specific software.

One thing that intrigues me the most about Green Mountain has to be the agonizingly long scene after "killing" the other Sonic, specifically how the game slowly removes the colours from the environment while also watching as Sonic slowly starts to resemble the other Sonic as well. And with the added context of the story in the files, what happens at the end of the game seems to take on a bit of a different meaning. Watching the game slowly decay right in front of your eyes as you can't do anything else other than just watch and let it all happen. As if we're seeing the game and Sonic rotting away like a corpse. Just thought I'd put my two cents onto the table here since I thought it was an interesting comparison.

Heres my theory on it: Two men murder a person or one of their friends, and kill a pet hedgehog to do a ritual of sorts, they bury the both hedgehog and person together to make the creature. They record them trekking up the mountain and getting murdered. They get killed by the creature they had summoned, (which is the scene in the game where one sonic kills the other) and the only frames left on the camera is the images of them trekking up the mountain and then the picture of the thing crawling on the mountain.

If the animal theory you’re talking about is true, then the buried animal is most likely a beloved pet of “her” my best guess is a pet hedgehog, which might have even been named after the blue blur himself. Once the pet was buried, some Stephen King Pet Semetary stuff happens and we get the malformed sonic.

I had a theory that the game itself represents a murder, and that the dark sonic was the killer and normal sonic was their friend. The friend (dark sonic) was planing on killing someone and the player (normal sonic) knew about it but didn’t intervene until they got to the top of the mountain where the player attacked the friend and killed them (why dark sonic was trying to get away). And we turn into dark sonic bc we are now a killer and can’t go back to our normal selves. That picture is probably how the player so the friend on the mountain bc of how dark it was or maybe bc they were scared or something.

It's likely an older sibling talking to a friend after they accidentally killed their little sister's pet, possibly a pet hedgehog, since they can be difficult to take care of if you don't know what you're doing. The connection could be that the little sister was a sonic fan, and so she named her hedgehog after sonic. After burying the pet, the guilt and attempted distancing from the situation along with the location could of possibly brought the hedgehog back to life, afterwards it might of possibly killed the older sibling, or the older sibling's friend, or its also possible that the undead hedgehog is now left forever trapped alone from it's owner, and away from any sense of love and comfort.

Hello! I was the one that actually gave the info about the japanese statues. So speaking of them, there are ALOT of them in the fight (like 3-4) which might not be alot but its 4-3 dead buried people there. but hear me out. its an Old burial method of respecting someone. Atleast thats what i think. green mountain is a game based on a REAL life murder. which police most probably havent caught yet. GREEN MOUNTAIN is a real place in the world, so speaking of it police officers have begun searching around but found NOTHING yet. and deep in the files you can find numbers, WHICH means it could be how DEEP it would be buried. The owner (or the guy whos offline now) got his game removed. now. the red hedgehog helped us get the 2nd version. i will explain more, as im diving deeper into the series to find more secret related things about it. Such as it actually being a real place... ((If you can pin this i would very much appreciate it, i've searched alot of time deep wedging into its origin and finding out it was a japanese burial type was REALLY hard to find, took me a couple of days actually!)) Green Mountain is basically the "MARIO" of sonic creepypastas and as someone who loved the feel of the "MARIO" arg/romhack im very glad that another creepypasta has captured that same sort of feel. Just having a couple things that feel off that invoke the feeling of something incredibly grim/ominous hidden JUST out of reach. Something that you scratch the surface of just by playing the game, but needing to dig deeper to find what it truly is. In the case of the "MARIO" romhack it's the message blocks with their infamous messages, but in Green Mountain i'd say it has to be the music and graphics being off that really does it for me. With the creature merely serving as the confirmation that something is DEFINITELY wrong.

i think the story is that 2 friends go on a hiking trip however one of them had the plan of burying a body but didn't tell the other one. Once they reach the top, i assume the murderer tells his friend what hes doing there. this causes them to argue, (the pause before the fight ontop of the mountain) and then they start fighting. friend a, kills friend b (the murderer) and friend a loses his innocence and becomes a murder too (hence the reason he changed to resemble the weird sonic) Also, i think the sonics eyes being closed is a metaphor for how he has no idea what is going on and has not murdered anyone, as for the picture, i think its more of a representation of friend b's body, dead, lying on the ground after friend a killed him under the night sky.

Green Mountain is one of the most interesting Sonic creepypasta's/ARG's(in my opinion),most Sonic creepypastas arent that good,but there are some good creepypasta's of Sonic(for example: The Sonic 3 hacked Cartridge,The Blue Pendrive, Fingers The Echidna ect)but Green Mountain is very interesting, telling the story through the game files and its weird gameplay, Green Mountain also resembles a Mario creepypasta called MARIO(the one with the infamous red face in the files) which was released in 2011, i do hope more green mountain games come up in the future so we can get more info about the story.

This was a great video man! The editing quality is better than some Hollywood documentaries I’ve seen 😂 I do have like two suggestions tho to help your work surpass ALL the Hollywood documentaries. Ok maybe not all, but most. 1. If possible, play some of the sound effects and music you said were distorted for just a couple seconds, that will help the viewer get a better context of how it sounds, and it would just be nice to have. 2. To me at least in my interpatation is...Sonic and his shadowy counterpart were speaking to one another as they know they're forced to do this and it's an entity that controlls the game . And "Her" Is amy after the entity killed her or rather indirectly killed her as he forced Shadowy Sonic to kill amy by posseson which is why he's on all fours and killed amy then the burial thing is likely what they did the two sonic's likely did that for amy.
