Most anxieties center around the *fear of not being in control* . It's understandable that a woman would fear pregnancy/childbirth because you pretty much lose control of your body.....and what I mean by that is that your body is just going to do what it needs to do in order to expel the baby. I have a fear of doctors and it's interesting because my grandfather was a medical doctor. But it goes back to childhood when I had absolutely no control over if/when I went to the doctor and what happened from there, such as medical tests, etc. No say so in it the matter whatsoever. I had scoliosis and had no say so in the physical therapy that was prescribed to me: intense swimming that went on for 5 years. I could go on and on about it but I think most people will understand what I'm talking about.

People die in childbirth and it’s physically traumatic. Doesn’t that make it rational?

I use to fear the dentist because it hurt like hell (dental neglect throughout childhood). After getting my teeth fixed and going to a calmer dentist office, my fear has significantly decreased till the point I don't have to take relaxation meds to go. I hope dealing with intense dental fear is in dentist's training. Also, good birdie!

I’m envious of you having a hyacinth on your shoulder. They are such huge macaws that they can be intimidating. But the one I knew was a gentle giant-sweet, playful, and aware of his strength. Gorgeous bird! You are so lucky!

He is not lucky. He is using an exotic animal as a prop. It's infuriating.

I have claustrophobia and I find flying excruciating, especially in smaller aircraft. How is fear of flying irrational??? You are in the middle of the sky, in a confined piece of metal and there’s no escape to safety if something happens 😮 It’s horrible 😩

Speaking of phobia with that large bird on your shoulder. My phobia is that I'm scared of birds.

I had phasmophobia for many years... I was still sleeping with my brother at 14 years old, then I was sleeping alone but the light on all the time. I had a hard time sleeping so much and it eventually went away, I don't know why. Also, this bird is making me very uncomfortable 😅

Hey, maybe when you’re talking about phobias you don’t have to put a giant freaking picture of them? I think we can hear you saying it or we can read captions. Bout threw my phone across the world

I have a fear of taking a shower. I lose balance because the water hitting me feels abusive, I also don't understand how to shave while standing. I panick. Bathing is so relaxing, I sit in the tub and wash with clear water with the drain opened. Then I plug the tub and lay back, washing my hair in the warm water and relax. Showers leave me feeling stressed for hours afterward.

Ever tried hypnotherapy? Find a qualified one. Exposure therapy is painful & it takes longer. How long is it going to take the medical & psychology profession to get it? 🙄

I was like “okay” at the ghost story. Then they said bible.🤣🤣 Explains it all. Also if you believe in god wouldn’t you also believe he would protect you from stuff like that? So why would you be worried? I suppose if you believe in one imaginary thing it’s easier to believe in other possible imaginary things.
