Anxiety won't leave unless there is a complete surrender to what is in the present moment, and that's super hard to do when the brain is conditioned to worry about safety and security all the time. A question I like to use is "What is it that I'm fearing right now?" and write that thought out and then review it carefully, seeing how I think it'll impact future safety of self. Books like 30 Days to Reduce Stress by Harper Daniels have helped me detach from thoughts and learn to let go a bit.

So thankful for the insight, wisdom and guidance I’ve been gaining from Dr Delony’s channel over the past 3 months. It’s helping me through the most traumatic season of my life so far. I pray that my loved one will be willing to dive deep and do the hard work too, but if not, I know I will be OK. Thank you, Dr Delony, for being so direct and compassionate. You are helping more people than you know.

John's journey to & back from academia into relatability is his super power. He talks like an everyday person because that's the last step that the academic research process leaves incomplete. This quote below I recently heard from Werner Herzog is a dissent against the set-it-and-forget it idea that fighting mental health issues with intellect & research/analysis alone will solve the problem. No, John is advancing the field past this status quo in his own effective way. Illuminating every inch of our house (our mind) makes it uninhabitable. - Werner Herzog

I know on your last episode you talked with your wife about that time you were really struggling. Would love to hear more about your testimony with that, and how you overcame with the Lord, and practical steps you took!

TURN COMMENTS ON…on the video with your wife. WHY would you turn the comments off??
@sanell6 Жыл бұрын
Because people with an unhealthy obsession with Delony we’re making unbelievably mean comments about his wife. They wanted her to worship the ground he walked on and grovel in his magnificent light. When she didn’t, when they spoke openly about some of the very real (and valid) feelings and challenges they had and how it is not always moonshine and roses, they made her out to be some mean, awful person. As someone married to someone with OCD, anxiety and depression I completely got where she came from - you love your husband despite some of the really challenging parts. The people on KZbin get the ‘best’ parts of Delony, but she needs to deal with all the parts and people just refused to think he is not perfect.
