Cracking video mate, that was fascinating. This one must have bypassed me first time around.

Cheers Robin! Strongest memory of that trip was realising my leg was stuck up to my knee in mud. Saved the camera first though ofc 😄

You make a wee Glen look magnificent Kris. It's like another planet with all that water gone. Never knew there was an old farm there. Stunning. Love your car reg at the start 🤭😁

Thanks! I've heard from some locals that the heavy rains over the past fews days have started filling it up again. I think the farmhouse might be submerged again already 😔

Great vid. There's a few lochs up North showing their former history just now. Old roads and bridges are visible on Loch Glascarnoch and there's one over Kintail way with an old stone arched bridge that people risk walking over every time it appears.

Cheers Pete! Yeah, 2nd driest summer in 160 years. A worrying statistic 😥 When it isn't raining enough in Scotland, you know there's something up! 😁

"Spectacular, in a post-apocalyptic way." Such an amazing video! The quality, the subject, the location and a beautiful bird walking with you. What kind of bird was it? When was the farm house built?
@ScottishMountainGoat3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Penny! 😊 It's a male pheasant. There were quite a few of them around that day but this one seemed to enjoy showing off for the camera 😄 I tried to find out when the farmhouse was built but didn't get to the bottom of it. I'll need to have a look at the old maps and see if I can spot when it appears 🤔 cheers, Kris.

Great vid, thanks. I believe it is actually called Backhills Farm rather than Blackhills. Dollar Museum has an excellent photo of it when it was still in use in 1939
@ScottishMountainGoat3 жыл бұрын
You are correct! I must have misread it as "Black". The map I referenced for this can be found here in case it interests you: maps.nls.uk/view/91626457
