The Sound village's inclusion in the chunin exam arc now very much perplexes me, considering their inclusion was Orichimaru's plan for the Konoha crush. Knowing that the Chunnin exams kinda function like the Olympics between all the villages where one of the 5 major villages is chosen to be the host and the other villages select their ninja to participate. Whats the registration process and was there even a background check? Like why did no one raise any red flags about this village registering ninjas when the village is not even recognized as a legit village and also is pretty much unknowable to everyone else? Like why did nobody say, "Look we can allow Hidden Mist ninjas cause we know the village, we know the leader, we have relations with them. We dont know these Hidden Sound people, why are we allowing them to participate?"

Because plot. Theres so many different parts throughout the series if you nitpick even a little things fall apart. If the rasengan is stronger than the chidori hiw does naruto end up knocked out while sasuke is totally fine at the end of part 1. Why does kakashi wait so long to tell naruto that shadow clones can speed up your training. And more

@@majintv24 ohh I'm aware that especially these older longer running animes before audiences had more tools/desire to go back and nit pick things, these plot holes are gonna happen. Regarding your thing about naruto and saskue in their part 1 fight, they do show that after their rasengan chidori cancelled each other, Naruto and Saskue kept coming towards each other and Saskue did manage to punch naruto in the chest while naruto (purposely or not) only scratched Saskue's headband. So that's why naruro was knocked out. Also personal opinon, I don't think rasengan is a stronger jutsu than chidori in part 1 (cause I mean kabuto took a direct hit and was still able to fight after) but I do think it is a better one in the sense that it uses less Chakra (where Chidori has specific use limits) and there is no hand signs so it's a far more effective technique in that sense. I don't buy the water tower argument cause really if Rasengan is just a rotating mass of Chakra, all it really did was spin the water inside strong enough to break out the back, where chidori actually pierced right through the tank.

i mean, every hidden village was essentially one strong guy getting a bunch of followers and some territory and boom. over the course of 70ish years, there's probably been a dozen hidden villages that just can't compete with the big dogs and get wiped out. by that logic, the sound village was perfectly legal and kosher to compete as long as they were invited

So basically from its founding to the end of Shippuden the Sound Village was less a village and more an international terrorist organisation. It was just founded in the land of rice (sound) but wasn't based there after the chunin exams. Well, then my question is what did the leaf have to say to the fudel lord after the Konoha Crush arc. You'd think they would demand reparations and maybe invade to try to track down Orochimaru. Tsunade made peace with the sand but what about the sound. It's giving me post 9/11 vibes with Orochimaru playing the role of Bin Laden (it was a surprise attack on the leaf's home soil resulting in a lot of damage, deaths and even the death of the hokage). You'd think there would have been more pressure placed on the Lord of Sound, or Rice, whatever the title was, to help the leaf find Orochimaru.

I have a theory as to why Orochimaru hasn't shown up yet. Going off of the other theories that Orochimaru could possibly be a Otsutsuki, what if the reason that Orchimaru hasn't shown up yet is because of the Shinju? The Shinju wants to devour an Otsutsuki and the Shinju are very powerful. Perhaps Orochimaru is weighing the risks in him getting involved or not and decided to sit it out until the situation is more favorable.

I think the sound village might be a little older than 10 years. It may not be by much, but there's nothing that says Orochimaru started the village after he left Konoha. He may have started it first, given that his hideouts, recruits, and so on would have taken time to prepare. If we put stock in how Orochimaru and Danzous relationship evolved, and the idea that it was probably after Minato became Hokage and Orochimaru finally left due to not getting it, that puts the upper bound at 13 years prior to part 1, with that lower bound at 10 years when he left.
