I took 5 loads to the dump. Two 10 foot Uhaul trucks and three cargo vans full. Most of what I disposed of could have been useful to someone else or valuable enough to sell it but I couldn’t take having my home full and bursting out like it was I just wanted to be done. I was not feeling altruistic in my purging method. My husband was a hoarder and a doomsday prepper (was or still is?). We had literal tons of food. It’s gone now. I couldn’t take it anymore.

This is perhaps THE BEST explanation on the benefits and the psycological aspects of decluttering. Happily a lot of us have seen and experienced the life changing magic of decluttering, but to watch your explanation takes it to another level. Thank you so much, especially for the ones you motivate to start the journey ❤

Thankyou Guardian Brother- resonates with me. Been decuttering for months off and on. Finally paying attention to myself, health home and family. *other peoples stuff gone to charity. * paperwork in cycling bin, private ones burnt. * not allowing others wasting our time either. * not inviting people over has been a blessing.

@@Add_Account485 For me clutter keeps me safe. I was abused by a family friend who was living with us when I was very little, he would sneak into my room late at night, I discovered if I left my toys between my door and my bed he would have a hard time getting to me and sometimes the noise he made would wake my parents. The more toys on the floor, the safer I was. This is something I am still dealing with as an adult. Thats how trauma caused clutter in my life. I hope that makes sense.

I imagine because I am at a final stage of clutter clearing your video popped up. I have had items in storage unit for over a year. I was always "afraid" to let it go because I may be "without". I have been "without" it for over a year.😅 It is a waste of money to store stuff. And ultimately you always will have what you need. It is so freeing. I donated everything to a local furniture bank for veterans an those in need.❤

@@kristinmeyer489 Then again, I have seen so many items for sale on OfferUp that say (ex:) “posted six months ago.” Or I see people who have a boatload of items for sale that say(ex:) “posted five days ago.” In other words, every week they cancel the ads and start new ones for the same unsold items so that people don’t think they’re hoarding the items in their houses for months on end. It also lets potential buyers know that the sellers can’t get what they want for the items. Me, I just want to get rid of the crap before it drives me nuts. Thanks for the video. This is something we have practiced for 5 or 6 years and as you say, it's empowering. I provide care for a member of the family and working away from home was not an option. Downsizing, getting rid of things we haven't used in years freed up space and earned us money in some cases. Our smaller home feels larger because it's filled with essential items only. Our social life consist of a small group like minded friends providing a more stress free environment. We're saving more money, blessing friends and family more often and being overall happier🤠🤠

I never had clutter until I began accumulating the emotional pain and inner turmoil from multiple toxic, abusive relationships and traumatic experiences over a period of years.
