Leif Erickson had memorable voice. He was perfect as John Cannon.

Leif Erickson died of cancer in Pensacola, Florida, on January 29, 1986, aged 74. He was born William Wycliffe Anderson. He worked as a soloist in a band as vocalist and trombone player, performed in Max Reinhardt's productions, and then gained a small amount of stage experience in a comedy vaudeville act. His Wikipedia page doesn’t explain why he changed his name or when. He has an interesting entry.

Henry Darrow was born Enrique Tomás Delgado Jiménez September 15, 1933 New York City. His parents had moved from Puerto Rico to New York in the early 1930s.

Poor Frank Silvera. Silvera was killed on June 11, 1970, after accidentally electrocuting himself while repairing a garbage disposal unit in his kitchen sink. He was 55. He was born in Kingston, Jamaica and raised in Boston.

Cameron Mitchell was NOT born in New York. He was born in Dallastown Pennsylvania of Scottish and German descent, one of seven children of Rev. Charles Michael Mitzell and Kathryn Isabella (née Ehrhart) Mitzell. Young Cameron moved to Chicora, Pennsylvania, in 1921 when his father was accepted as pastor of the St. John's Reformed Church, Butler, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania. He was a 1936 graduate of Greenwood High School in Millerstown, Pennsylvania. Mitchell died of lung cancer on July 6, 1994, in Pacific Palisades, California, at age 75. He is buried in Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City, California. He has an extensive Wikipedia page.

It was NOT about the Montoya family. Manolito and Victoria Montoya were part of the Cannon family. Victoria married John Cannon and her brother Manolito was one of the hands. Correct me if I’m wrong High Chaparral fans but I think it was an arranged marriage between John Cannon and Victoria and Manolito’s father of the Montoya family.
