Great engine if you maintain it along with the DSG transmission. Throw rods and rebuild the bottom end with a bigger turbo and bolt ons , over 450hp

@@kelvinpena76 that's not bad. Compared to my 1.6 diesel I can get it from 90hp to 120 with a simple map. Could get injectors and turbo from the 110hp variant however that adds only and extra 25hp compared with the simple map so hard to justify spending money on bolt ons if there's not much gains compared to a map with stock internals.

I've got a 2008 GTI, after new exhaust, new K&N air filter, and fixing some misfire issues and replacing the factory ignition coils with HKS coils, and few other minor fixes... I'm very satisfied. Very quick, and very fun car to drive.

Get rid off the swirl flaps, get more air flow and avoid sucking them into the engine on some stage. There's plenty of replacing sets available (£50).

I'm a mechanic, I live in Alaska USA. There aren't many Jetta's where I live, I just bought a 2008 with the BPY. Was a customer car, he got tired of it dying at random. So I bought it. I saw 'Tyco' on the fuse panel under the hood/bonnet, figured a toy car part didn't belong in an automobile. Sure enough, it tests bad. 3.3 volts to the ECM fuses. Now I just need a different fuse panel and I have a cheap, running car. If I can ever find one.

@@IamJackPot The Edition 30 with Downpipe and Exhaust, Intake, Upgraded High Pressure Fuel Pump interals, Upgraded Intercooler (Wellycooler is the best, but custom made so a bit more difficult to fit), RS4 Fuel Return Valve you'll see numbers of 360+. Mine Stage2+ is 376bhp/422lb-ft. With my K04 Hybrid I should see 420-430bhp with 420lb-ft. Definitely a awesome car when tuned to Stage 2+. Can catch out so many modern cars, such an underdog.

That Dsg mechatronic unit is gonna go bang bang bang very soon i guarantee it 😂 mine only had 118k on it when it was mapped by Amd, 271 bhp killed that gearbox in a matter of weeks 😂 Cost 1k to replace it with a second hand box with 65k on it
