James has a dunk from the corner of the Free Throw line, which is about an additional 2ft. That has to be the furthest dunk EVER! There's also a missed alley oop and his arm pit is literally above 10ft. I had a homeboy I played against in high school named Immanuel McElroy he won state with Stephen Jackson back in 95’ Port Arthur Lincoln. He got a D1 ship to Cincinnati and played with James White and Kenyon Martin so I followed him a lot. He would tell me stories of James dunking and touching over 13ft easily!

I saw a few people mention David Thompson, he was the leaper before anyone started measuring verticals as a standard. He brought it about. He was listed as 6'4" but his teammates said he was probably a little over 6'2". He could touch the top of the board. They listed his vertical as 48 because Dr.J said no one would believe 52 which was closer to reality

Had a guy in high school that was only 5 ft 8, during the assembly's he would grab a tennis ball off of the top of the backboard. This was in the early 90s before social media or any kind of cell phones. He also held the state record for the high-jump in track at 6 ft 10 in. He was unbelievable. Went to college and one of his knees went out and that was it, never heard anything of him after that.
