Thank you so much for letting me ride in the cab and having a driver’s eye view of the line. If you were in the train you would have such a limited view. Keep up the good work!

This is fantastic. Would love to see a high quality video all the way to Perth, and possibly in the other direction. This would be a great route in a train simulation game from what I've seen with a snowy mountain pass in another video. I do criticize however the lack of sound.

Blurpled 225 studios are actually filming in the area, they’ve already done Inverness to Perth, & are doing Edinburgh to Aberdeen, Aberdeen to Inverness is already in the works, as are a few others in the area.

Yes it needs sound. Also loco-hauled by something nice like a Class 37. Snow maybe? Nomatter, I enjoyed it anyway - watched the whole thing.

How lucky to live by the railway. That is my dream to leave London in 2 years and have a place out of the way. I try to visit 3-5 times a year but obviously wont for a while until God will this virus is done with.

Dude - what are you waiting for? We moved over10 years ago and never regretted it. London is bonkers now. Despite the SNP doing their level best to muck everything up, they have not, and will not, succeed. Come join us.@@johnmacdonald3282

The Highland Main Line seems to have a lot of short trains for such a long line. Does it ever run with more than 2 coaches?

I could never understand why this main line is a single track with passing loops, surely there is an economic case to redouble (and electrify) it
@ZL54JK84 жыл бұрын
To dual the line and electrify it would be prohibitively expensive and the number of destinations served would not justify it. Besides I wonder if it would even be possible: building the line in the first place was a difficult engineering challenge. Not least of all, now that the A9 is a major trunk road, the journey to the north is accomplished much more quickly by road than by rail.
@Korschtal4 жыл бұрын
@@ZL54JK8 That's rather the problem: the difference in the amount of money poured into the road and not the railway network.
@Korschtal4 жыл бұрын
A large part of the line looks like it was built single track, but I see the point. Electrifying it would be a good idea, not to mention adding wires further north...
