Well done on this project Both of you, can i just say when you are scrapping and sanding the old paint off walls and ceilings, please remember that from 1945 until 1980 most paint had Asbestos in it. so take precautions when removing it. Good luck on your journey. 👍🇬🇧

The 1st Xmas away from our family was the hardest time for us in Bulgaria, but the reunions were fantastic, until it came to saying bye again that is. We spent money on having a veranda and a roof terrace but in reality due to the extreme heat we rarely used them (not enough to justify the expense) obviously, you may well make use of it more than we did, but thought I'd mention it. Love the pizza machine! We used to buy via Gabieli the same way via Ekont (both great services). It used to be a £1 per kilo (pre Brexit).

you could put a tin roof on top of your leaky flay roof as a quick cheep fix . screw some batons down to the concrete with a fall on it for the water to run and bang your tin sheets on ;o)
@TheOffgridNomadUK23 күн бұрын
@wichywoo since cleaning roof it's stopped leaking crazy but will be painting it in new year to waterproof it fully

@@Craftaholic36 we got lots of plans with big veranda and maybe completely new roof with extra bedrooms as you don't need planning if you build up on your structure.

@TheOffgridNomadUK it has me thinking....I sold up to get out of the debt trap and bad neighbours , to move to Glen Coe for a new type of work but it didnt pan out .. I moved a bit further North abd am in a static caravan now. Also have a new partner who says she's happy to move around . The UK is dire .

You can probably avoid debt but you shouldn't trust the neighbours here, people randomly try to come on the property and take over as if you aren't really the owner@@gordonsmith3706

As diesel is cheap over there, would diesel heaters outdoors going through holes in house work? I see the wood fire heaters take a lot of room in house.
@TheOffgridNomadUK23 күн бұрын
Don't see why not we got Aircon with heat fitted aswell now very low power aswell

Diesel is not cheap at all. Diesel heaters disappeared in Bulgaria in the middle of the 80s.

Knock it down!? The house is pretty sturdy and has a lot of space. It just needs a little plastering and painting. Otherwise, it is perfectly Ok. My only remark is that you came to Bg just before winter and renovations are much more difficult - weather is colder, days shorter, etc.
@TheOffgridNomadUK23 күн бұрын
@nadyadobreva9904 we are a few weeks behind with uploading vlogs but house 1 is about finished moving in next week just delay on kitchen and floors to dry and my back has gone iam away now for a week getting treatment and seeing new year in at Veliko Tarnovo

@TheOffgridNomadUK That is great! Have a nice rest now! You are doing a nice job! Your village is great as well. Please, you know that the summer months starting from May to September are extremely hot - so get a swimming pool ready, I mean, first the spot and then the pool. And then - a BBQ and a lot of beer. Happy New Year now!
