One good thing about getting older is we grew up with the most fantastic music and true musicians. I had the pleasure to see these guys when they toured Australia so many years ago.

Kris was such a big part of the Highwaymen. He was always known more as a songwriter than a performer, but he is damn talented and I love the way they added so much to the instrumentals when he performed with them. A true legend!

Kris flew helicopters... in the US army in Germany and then in the US (mainly to oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico). He volunteered for Vietnam but they did NOT take him because he was supposed to take a job as a teacher for English literature at Westpoint... he then quit the army to go to Nashville instead of Westpoint...
