I lived on the Pedernales River outside Austin for a few years. Willie's small golf course was nearby and one day on my way home from work, Willie(driving an old Toyota pick up) waved and smiled at me when I turned the corner. It is hard to have a bad day when Willie just waved at you!

Willie has had the guitar "Trigger" since 1969 and refuses to have the hole fixed that repeated picking and strumming has worn through it.. it is a classic like he is

Kris is a great song writer. And I can recognize Trigger as much as Willie's voice.

A Martin D-20 CLASSICAL GUITAR with Nylon Strings and no pick guard. And, Willie plays it with a pick. It's easily the most recognized guitar in the world

You said it, the brain trust of country music for the last forty years, and for the rest of all time…

Last year, I saw Kris sing this with Roseanne Cash...and cried like a baby. I mean, honestly, the whole crowd at the Hollywood Bowl was in tears. It was more reverent than any moment I've ever had in church;)

I could hear Cash's baritone in the backing vocals a time or two. What a concert. I hope you'll do more..so many hits from all 4 of them that they do in this concert. Sunday Mornin' Coming Down is another great one that Kris wrote - he and Cash do that one; Willie does City of New Orleans; each of them have a part in the song "The Highwayman"...etc. GOATS, each one of them.

One of my favourite Kristofferson songs . I love this version - sign of a fantastic song that it can be sung so many different ways and tempos. He's so humble - amazed that he's on stage with the others (he deserves to be). Thrilled at how Willie did his song. No ego from any of them. Just a night enjoying one another's music and company. Saw the Highwaymen live once and saw Kris solo 4 times. One of the times I saw Kris, the audience was anything from pre-teen to older that my almost 90 year old mum at the time. Such a huge, diverse following. Always one of my favourite country artists. They don't write like this anymore. Damn Willie can play that guitar. I always loved his voice too.
