And by “another MD” I mean I am also an MD, who has an autoimmune disorder myself and has treated patients with various autoimmune disorders for 13 years post residency.

Such a great topic! Thank you! I would love to hear your thoughts on drug induced pustular psoriasis. It’s something I’ve encountered in my RA journey and I think while most RA patients have heard of drug induced Lupus from TNF inhibitors, not many know of drug induced pustular psoriasis.

It was from Dexilant. It's for 3 weeks and my Dr. Gave it to me 6 yrs. Effected my eyes with cataracts & glaucoma. Also have MCTD and so many autoimmune diseases now.

How do you know that you didn’t have an autoimmune disorder and also were taking Dexilant, which is used to treat heartburn, one of the first presenting symptoms of Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder. Both things can be true and does not indicate that Dexilant caused your immune disorder. I’m an MD who also has an autoimmune disorder myself and am genuinely curious what makes you believe this? Have your symptoms disappeared since stopping Dexilant? My guess is no, because they were never “caused by Dexilant.” You are looking for someone to blame but the truth is that autoimmune disorders are MUCH more common than previously believed and often go undiagnosed.

@@estercobb3436This could have worded more professionally than “you’re looking for someone to blame”.

@annmarievalenti So did your symptoms resolve when you stopped taking the Dexilant for heartburn? I’m guessing NO because the Dexilant was not the cause. PPIs can be taken for years, where are you getting “for three weeks”? You do know that acid reflux is one of the most common initial presenting symptoms of Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder right? Weird that you would already have the symptoms severe enough to seek out a medication to treat, of an autoimmune disorder you think you didn’t have yet 🤔. Riddle me that.

Strange that I’m unable to reply to this persons outlandish claim about Dexilant.

I experienced this after a tetanus immunization years ago (i.e. when they used horse serum as a base, and not the synthetic immunization used now.)

Does remeron cause that because I’m constantly in pain while using this
