Remember climbing up the factory walls with Rajin (if that’s the name, red 4 legs and physical shield). But the Rhino and the Carnage were also super fun to utilize, but I like Fujin more than Carnage. The “British bots” which I didn’t know that’s what they were called were also really awesome. But man the grind to get new shit is just impossibly stupid 😢

Awesome Intro - loved it! As for the rest: Yeah - game could have been there among the most popular and most played mobile games and it even was at a point. But then, they couldn't get enough out of the players and kept inplementing more and more layers of power to be sold such as Pilots, Drones, etc. Ultimately, the gap in power between casual players and those who buy everything got way too big and the game went down the rabit hole of having to rely solely on the few super-payers. That's the downfall of every game since now you begin to cater to a minority. Not the majority that made you successful in the first place. @ITalkGames: I'd probably make a reaction video of this - drive some exposure to you. Such an excellent video!

When I was a kid, I was watching my friend play this game. I asked him about it, and he even let me play. I played it so much when I was around 9. Eventually, I got rid of my iPad and that was the end of my account. Years later, when I had heard that WR was coming to PC, I got back into it. I was kindly greeted with: - Dagon, a robot with a yellow shield so strong that it's basically unkillable unless you have very strong weapons - A flying scorpion that has an impenetrable and unbreakable shield for a long time - A bowling ball that takes almost no damage while it rolls around the map holding beacons (with, you guessed it, an Aegis shield) - Decay, along with other weapons that just do way too much damage - Stupidly overpowered titan weapons - Drones?? - Weapons that can bypass stealth mode (wtf is the point anymore) - A very poor anticheat system (although, Pixonic deserves a cheating problem) Pixonic ruined what could have been the best game to ever exist. I honestly wish their game falls apart.

The list of changes that left me utterly heartbroken: -Raijin nerf (before you could climb walls, now you cant, before you could push other bots, now you cant). If my memory serves me well, i think Weyland could also climb like Raijin did but of course, that feature got removed too so both Weyland and Raijin in fact got nerfed. No more highground for Raijin i guess. -Avenger nerf (naw man.... its the same now...in Ultimate Edition) -Halo/Corona nerfs (remember when Halo/Corona Invader was the meta? Or when Gust didnt run out of ammo as well? Gust Pursuer used to be a thing...) -Inquisitor and other stealth bots becoming obsolete because modern robots are batsh*t hard to kill, like Ravana or Fenrir and so on. (Inquisitor is my favourite robot, yes i loved Avengers Raijin to my heart but Inquisitor was a skillful robot that required precise engagements. 1 wrong move and you die. It was also a free to obtain robot together with Exodus during Halloween event in 2017) -Orkan nerf (no more deathbutton guys!) -stupid addition of drones -poor p2w addition of modules (modules are great and shape the game but the way they are implemented is awful) -ever powercreeping sh*t thats released making older stuff obsolete (as a f2p i got the Leech when it was released because i was very Lucky on the Special Delivery (box opening) event. Now the Leech is useless.) There are so many "tier 4" robots/weapons that are GARBAGE yet are the same tier as the latest stuff pigsonic released. Can we compare Hawk or Ao Jun to Seraph? No? Or to Ochokochi and Curie? Also no? You get the point. The Hawk and Ao Jun got a heavily nerfed flight duration and speed and are now just a joke to use. But UE Ao Jun is just fine! Dont worry! -literally bringing back old stuff back into relevance.... but in the Ultimate Edition. The slap in the face when i saw Avenger (my fav weapon to this day), Orkan and Halo/Corona..... man the heartbreak i had. -Arthur nerf (before he had a much larger hp pool but no, blast shotguns needed to be OP you know?) - *LUCHADOR NERF* i dumped 100-200€ into fully maxing out my Baihu Luchador with Stellar Evora and Veyron, maxed out titan pilot with tier 4 skills, tier 4 all fully maxed out modules (2 titan repair amps, anticontrol and cannibal reactor allowed me to munch down an eiffel in flight if i come close enough). I utterly MAXED out the Luchador and i regret nothing. It is, was and always will be my favourite titan to this day and any future day to come. The freedom of his powerful leap and his big reflector made the Luchador really stand out. Anyway, ever since they announced titan Reapers and Bersagliere i was already furious because they did that so the Luchador gets indirectly nerfed or should i say powercrept. Then they just blatantly come out and say big Luchador nerf HEHEHEHAW...... yep, you guessed it. I deleted the game as soon as i read the nerf. I didnt wanna play my Luchador in a butchered state, not be able to do the things i was doing regularly and then feel bad because pigsonic massacred my beloved titan. I dont wanna see how much they hurt my boy. I've had enough of this game. I hope it falls apart. We were all too deep in terms of spending but just because we are, doesnt mean it'll get better if we keep playing. There is no light at the end of this tunnel and all your money you spent will not be justified. We chose a wrong game to invest in guys. It'll only get worse if you keep playing. You tried to stick around and where did it get this game? In the same or possibly even worse spot because devs only change for the worse. And where did it get YOU? To be even more unhappy, frustrated and with an even bigger hole in your pocket. Its been a bitter journey but its time to let go of the misery. It wont get better, not this time. Sincerely, a WR veteran.

From what I can tell, the Spectre was the beginning of the end. It was the first bot that people would consistently run full hangars of just one bot, and was the first truly overpowered bot that stayed overpowered. It was also the first frontline brawler that was also fast, so it started off the trend of making brawlers fast, which eventually completely killed the beacon runner play style. By the time I left, the only bots that could really be called "beacon runners" were super niche bots like Strider, since the speed that made traditional beacon runners special was given to every new meta bot.

You forgotten to mention the thousands of different type of currencies and events which required money….. 1. Power cells, 2. Gold 3. Ti 4. Memo 5. Silver 6. 3 different events, all cost money 7. Operations events. 8. Space ship 9. Space ship weapons 10. Upgrade triangle cells And so many more…. Best part, force people to buy new equipment and robots and titans. New toys are always 500% OP, abilities twice as long, never ending HP and small robots taking out titans. Anyway, Newton Titan used to rule the game and shoot at 800m. Weapons reload at 5sec and ability recharge at every 8 sec. All clans have one of these nonsenses. Fast forward to Oct 2024… Newton ability duration reduces from 8 sec to 5 secs, waiting time increased to 12 secs, weapons power reduced by 15%… see the game now, all those who paid for this nonsense found their beloved Newton useless overnight. Pigxonics repeated this over and over again and P2W players are constantly falling for their trick…. Anyway, I rather spend my money on food and sports rather than this junk game.

If anyone considers joining in this game,DONT!..it became so pathetic,greedy and lame overall...basically,every match goes like this:you have bunch of standard players and few megapowered robots that wipe everything infront of them..if you are lucky enough and survive,here comes new Titans with also megapowered weapons that zap you instantly...you spawn your titan which also gets zapped fast... my Fenrir MK3 with MK2 weapons and maxxed up modules got eliminated within 5 seconds.

Long time player here. I downloaded the game when it was released in 2014 when it was Walking War Robots. All the weapons were named after their real life counterparts because the game was based on realism back then. I remember every meta, from the Pins Patton to the Plasma Griffin and Ancilot and everything after. If I could get back every penny I've ever spent on WR I'm quite certain it would shock me severely. It's probably better that I don't know. Just last week I spent over £300 (sterling) to get Condor and weapons and drone. I have a full meta hanger including acid shotgun Mauler, ultimate bots and weapons and I'm still spending over 10 years later. The game is an addiction for most as it is for me and Pixonic knows this and takes full advantage of it. The game has become so expensive today it's quite absurd but Pixonic operates on the understood premise that players love buying into power. Everything WR is structured around that. I've tried quitting a few times but always find myself coming back because there really is no other game quite like WR. If you're a newer player reading this, save yourself a fortune and find a cheaper, more player friendly game to play.

As a WR veteran of over 7 years, I just wanna say that I completely agree with you man! Even though I quit the game a year ago following the release of the ridiculously-overpowered, or should l say "overpriced" Ultimate Spectre, my dad, alongside with many other meta clans, still endorses the game's ominous schemes, spending thousands on top of thousands of RMB. Yet no matter how many times I remind him of the game's questionable decisions and lousy track record, he and his clanmates, some of whom quit the game prior to the the release of Shell and the sonic cannons and came back only last year to climb the ranks, still continue to spend absurd amounts of money on the game's soon-to-be-nerfed junk, sometimes up to 20,000 RMB a DAY (I’m not exaggerating, I swear). To put into comparison the rate at which they're spending, they already spent enough money to buy at least over two Tesla Model 3s in China. This just shows that no matter how much you try to evade economic burdens by uninstalling, Pixonic will always find a way to suck you back in. Because trust me guys, what's the point of spending thousands on a couple pixels on a screen, when you know it's gonna go directly to Pixonic's bank account. So in case you're wondering how on earth the top clans in the game are this stacked, there you have it. Stay safe kiddos. Predatory mobile games like WR are just not to be tooled around with.

Really nicely done video, kudos! Wish you could have covered maybe a few more robots and/or weapons (Ancient Tyr sporting Wasps and Stings?). But, your explanation for why not is understandable. Somewhere along the way while admiring your video creation and editing here, I found myself wanting to ask: Was all the "cinematic" style of footage culled from the various short movies, ads, official update announcement videos and such and then cobbled together piece by piece by yourself? That's my guess (as opposed to you somehow ;having access to that type of content and then cobbling it together). Just curious, because I keep thinking I'd like to try my hand at making videos like this, but I've never done much, if any, such media work yet I always end up frustrated by the overwhelming amount of stuff I both know and don't know that I don't know, LOL! On 2017 I used to play War Robots every day on my old tab that could barely run the game. It was the best thing for me back then. When I came back 3 years later I was having a lot of trouble with fighting because teams had pay-to-win robots so overpowered that some of them could almost oneshot me from across the map. I just left. The game used to be so fun and balanced and it definetely could top world of tanks, now sucess in matches depend only on your cash, no skill or teamwork. Remembering old times and looking at what husk of itself WR has become is devastating.

This is Dutch a great video. I used to play Warri it’s and probably stopped in 2017 bc I don’t remember the black market. I looked it up a month or 2 ago and was greatly saddened it went the p2w route. I used to love playing it so much but now that feeling is lost to time. Thanks so much for making this video as it helped me to remember the once best game I used to love. In my opinion, the golden period of War Robots was the period when robots such as Specte, Inquistior, Heachi, Kumiho, Invaider and Merchury were commodity. Although they had abilities such as stealth and were very dangerous when they jumped, players who had robots such as Griffin, Natasha, and Leo could also compete with them, in short, you could have fun without investing money in the game. When the game started to get worse, I think Pixonic started to release new, more powerful robots and weapons to make people spend money instead of fixing the problems in the game. However, even when robots like Ares-Ao Jun-Leech were added to the game, the game was still playable. That year, War Robots distributed these newly arrived robots in the events it had newly added to the game, so everyone could build their own suits with the weapons and robots they won from the event. I played War Robot continuously for more than 6 years, the year Ares became Meta, I started producing it in Worskhop, after a long time, when I finally got the robot, Pixonic had already applied a heavy nerf to Ares, the effort and time I spent was just gone from my hands. That's when I realized the game is not playable anymore

Amazing video, I only think that you could have put more emphasis on the downfall. When I finished watching this, I was confused since I did not mention much about a downfall. I would have loved a conclusion of sorts that talks about how good it was, and how bad it became. You mentioned a bunch of negatives, but did not show how they combined to a fall of the game. Bro this game and pixel gun 3d were my first games, i remember of i spent hours to get some gold and get the lazer weapon which costed 700 gold, those days i saw one of those ads and that just made me so sad bro… seeing this game’s downfall just not because of the gameplay and because of the shitty ads that i saw

I had alot of memories with this game, i remember back when the griffin was the meta and you just picked the highest burst damage gun and jumped when you reloaded. I remember thingkin The fujin and the Raijin was the coolest bots and grinded my ass to get it. I stopped playing a while ago but when i tried to go back the power gap was too big and it was almost impossible to catch up without paying.

You got some slight inaccuracies: - When workshop released, components didn't exist. You produced workshop points and used them to buy workshop point bots/weapons (rhino, carnage, raijin, fuijin, stalker, trebs, tarans, hydra, magnums, and tridents). It was later overhauled to produce components with workshop 2.0 - Carnage wasn't the first energy shield, but it was the first robot with a built in energy shield. Ancile came first, and IMO it was more important to the "shield meta" considering carnage's shield was super weak - Events (ie limited time lootboxes) were first added during 2016 with the Halloween event and Christmas event, the black market was just the permanent non-limited time version. Otherwise video has some high production quality for such a small channel, nice vid.

One thing to note is that the Ophion wasn given for free for an entire week The next 3 months after that were absolutely horrendous, tanks were melted, any attacker was obsolete because of the purple shield and titans couldnt even spawn because all it took were 3 easy to cycle abilities to kill them, and they couldnt get to cover because of their size I wish they would have kept it simple, it was fun trying silly strats like mortar natasha

This is why some of the devs that used to work in the game made Battle of Titans or B.o.T. It's a skill-based mech shooter like WR, but better physics, graphics and balancing, including more gameplay than paying.

I stopped after the mender and such were added. It is such a shame to see what has become of this game. I had so much fun with it, the most fun before the haechi and bulgasari etc were added. Those plus the spector were the beginning of the downfall imo.
