It's important to recognize you're talking about theories. The big bang theory (and science as a whole for that matter) is constantly changing. Is the universe 13 billion years old? Of course it's not, it's just our understanding right now. The big bang theory is primitive based on where science will be in 100 years; hopefully by then we'll realize the universe is a lot older than our current understanding today. Also, time and space are both infinite, meaning that mathematically it's logically impossible for the universe to end completely. We like to think we have everything figured out, but we're so far off it's not even funny.
@Alex-161111 жыл бұрын
Insightful Videos For you to say "we're so far off it's not even funny" infers that you already have it all figured out, otherwise how could you conclude how far off something is? Perhaps we are closer than you think? For speaking about logic, it seems you don't have a grasp on using it yourself.
@NemoNobody209211 жыл бұрын
psyd effex Every theory we have today disproved a theory we had yesterday. There will never be a definite answer. I personally don't think the heat death scenario will ever come about. It's more likely, in my opinion, that the sun will simply get cooler and extinguish, by that time I'm sure human will have figured out a way to survive without the sun. We are studying amazing things at the moment. For example, did you know that Google are working on immortality?

@KoeSeer9 жыл бұрын
+Anthony Buda there is a wild hypothesis that our earth is the first generation of life in universe. Yeah, that means, we're now a lonely planet with life. Maybe there are neighbours more or less advance and have civilizations, but they're so far away, we cannot interact with them by any means. And by the time the second generation of life and civilization filled the universe, we are all died or evolved beyond recognition. But, the bright side of this hypothesis is we are the first civilization to see back in time how universe evolved. We already saw into the void 14 billion years ago or at least saw the ancient galaxy 12 billion light years away. in 2 or 3 billion years, the other civilizations will scratching their head about how this universe existed because they can't see it anymore. The furthest thing they'll ever saw in 14 billion years is something like galaxies already spread out and stable. There might be no Big Bang theory. They will simply said "it's already there. Universe wasn't born. It's simply there".
@ryanharleston19419 жыл бұрын
+KoeSeer Lots of hypothesis. Maybe an intelligent life arose 5 to 10 billion years ago which is roughly the youngest an intelligent life could arise given perfect circumstances and survived to this day and if so they would not be godly to us but actual gods they would have mastered everything. Maybe they invented an after life to beat death or just simply live forever through some other means the sky is the limit with that amount of time.

The editing, the narration, the beautifully chosen soundtrack, the way the message was delivered... All absolutely flawless. I dare say this is the absolute best piece of media one could ever produce, since it's built so perfectly to the tiniest detail while talking about the most astronomical thing: us, as beings that fully understand our place and perception of time itself in the universe, which is Existence Itself, which we all share, since we are part of the same Universe that was formed from vaccum space. Maybe a couple Gazillions of years after Our Universe dies, another Universe may be formed, and maybe it will lead to the eventual creation of entirely different beings, Or MAYBE it will be the repetition of our eventual existence, as we know it. . . . Maybe what we call "different TIME-LINES" are the numerous repetitions of this cycle of beginning of life and its inevitable death, so maybe there has been (or will be) a Universe where EVERYTHING that went down in History went EXACTLY the same way as in our current Universe, but YOU decided not to get out of bed this morning, whilst considering that in OUR timeline, you did indeed get out of bed this morning. Now imagine the INCOMPREHENSIBLE amount of combinations of Universes that could EVER exist, until EVERY possible scenario has happened before! Would that mean something? Would that be some sort of goal? Maybe there are similar TIME-LINES where everything goes down EXACTLY the same way, with the utmost detail. Comparing this phenomenon to rolling a number of dices: the more dices you have, the lower the chances you have of getting the exact same combination of dices, but that is indeed possible. Now think of each dice as an atom, for example, or rather, the smallest form of matter: there would be a combination of Universes where each of the smallest forms of matter would react in a different way, resulting in this Infinite TIME-LINE theory, in other words, I'd be much more inclined to the theory of the Universe where it is constantly dying and coming back to life, because it is possible: it would probably take an "INFINITE" amount of time between the pawn of EACH Universe, but what can we take out of all this?... Probably nothing useful, but it would be pretty neat to know in which loop of the Universe we are!... If it were possible to know what the start is: WHEN did it start? What happened before the spawn of the VERY FIRST Universe? Maybe there were never the conditions that allowed matter to be produced by the 4 Big Forces of the Universe (if I recall that name correctly, there is Gravity and other three), so maybe yes, there might have been a beginning of everything, unless something happened before the FIRST Universe EVERY appeared longer than INFINITY, which happens to be the limit of our capacity as Humans: T I M E. We don't know how long there is between the spawn of two different Universes, so we can't know if something happened before the spawn of the First Universe because, for all we know, we MIGHT just be the First Universe, just to put this in perspective, and our perception of time is so RIDICULOUSLY MINISCULE that we can't either grasp the amount of TIME that went by Before the spawn of Our Universe nor the time that needs to pass After it Dies until a new TIME-LINE would be created. So, in theory, time travel would be possible if we could jump from a Universe to another, where events went down a certain different way, but it's probably impossible for us to grasp a way to make this seem even logically possible to execute, so I'll refrain from going further than this. It's just amazing how many conclusions and theories we can make from our mind alone.

@erkkasalo86457 жыл бұрын
Reginald Knickerbocker or try this one. Go back in time, take a picture, and come back. So, you've taken a picture, right? simple. *Well suprise suprise it's not.* So, the picture has been taken, because it was taken a long time ago by you. BUT. You still have not gone back in time, so that means you have not taken the picture. So, how does the picture exist if you haven't taken it?

This video always gives me nostalgia; it's the first video I watched from Kuzgesagt, and after seeing how far the channel has come, I look back at it everytime I feel like things are going slow. It reminds me that everything's always going on, and things are continually in motion. Whenever I feel bored, I'm reminded to look for something to bring myself back up. Kurzgesagt is really inspirational, curiosity inducing, and truly incredible. I love seeing content from you guys, and I always feel better after watching one of your videos. :D (It also's my favourite Kuzgesagt soundtrack!)

The second biggest improvement the remaster did: "that cute girl _or boy_ you like". Feels nice that I'm suddenly paid attention to. Not that I needed it, but it's nice. By far, the most important: the second-long animation at the end syncs up with the beat. I seriously can't thank you enough for fixing that in the remaster. some physicists do conjecture that, after an inconceivable amount of time after heat death, random quantum fluctuations would have most likely triggered another inflationary period, and thus another big bang, and another universe. it's all very speculative, though. that still ignores the possibility of other universes, which more and more scientists are starting to put a little stock in. nothing's confirmed yet, but there are theories, and possible ways to test them
@powerLien8 жыл бұрын
it seems to me that it would just keep going, except there really wouldn't be any "point" to it. things could still happen, if you count particles that are light years away from each other accelerating into the infinite abyss unlikely to ever meet another particle again as "happenings".
@Rodionnx8 жыл бұрын
Well we still don't know alot of things about Universe. For now we see this picture - Universe will die. But what if we can discover something that will show us that it will last forever and new matter will be possible to create ?? Or theoretically we can change some nature laws by ourself and create completely new physics, new Universe etc. It seems like if you have a technology everything is possible. We got computers only ~60 years ago and electricity about 110 years ago. How can we know now that our Universe is, without a doubt, doomed to die ?? It sounds like a 3 years old child talking about how to create a sucessful company and become a billionaire. So, with simple words, - we need to grow much more to understand what really awaits this Universe and what we can potentially do. And yeah, we have alot of time for this, no dismorale and panic pls.

***** Its late at night for me. I did mean ftl travel. Thanks for correcting me. Granted if we are able to break the universal speed limit then time travel might not seem too crazy.
@maniacalcactus47059 жыл бұрын
***** Dude I'm the exact same way. The whole, "Thanks for correcting me" was completely sincere. I completely understand your point of view but I see the matter differently. Time is already inconsistent. It moves faster and slower at parts that are moving at different relative speeds. Therefore, the concept traveling forwards in time is actually already proven. Backwards, however, could be an issue. This is where your idea becomes considerably more plausible than mine.
@nexzaros79519 жыл бұрын
***** Actually, in theory FTL travel would put you backwards in time. So, yeah. (It would also separate all of your atoms into protons, neutrons, and electrons, which would kill you. Also, due to the perception of time being warped at high speeds, you would not be able to stop if you kept whole as no time would pass for you. Actually, negative time would pass for you.) ((edit: that whole not stopping thing would cause you to crash into something and then cause a very very violent explosion, probably turning whatever you hit into pure energy and creating a blackhole. It also could create a super-nova.))

Ok, stop panic!! Probably yes, life is pointless because in the end all matter will disintegrate... *This is what we know for today*. So (probably) we cannot build a civilization that could exist Forever... *MAYBE*... I said "maybe" *because it is still unclear what is the Universe itself, where is her limits, we are still very far from understanding all the mechanics*. What if we could change the laws of nature and prevent Universe from dying ?? Create a new matter from some fluctuations, from nowhere, from some quantum effects, use dark matter, dark energy, use Black holes or neutron stars in some way, "heal/charge up" existing matter with new energy... or invent some other "miracle mechanics" we cannot even imagine right now ??... Or create our own Universe and travel there ?? So many uncertainties for today. Our knowledge and technology are still very primitive. *Don't you belive a civilization, that got electricity ~130 years ago already discovered all mysteries of the whole Universe/Multiverse, aren't you ??* So let's hope we can make Universe/matter/space etc an immortal. *At least we can try to find a solution*, and we have plenty of time for this!!! And we have no choice except make a try to save Universe and thus ourselves - because we are not losing anything. And if in the end we will discover that we can't do anything to "cancel" the death of the Universe, then... well... you will be officially free to decide do you want to live an actually pointless life or not. But remember, we have so much time that it is near an eternity for myriads of human generations. This is my strong argument for "not lose a hope and stay alive". HOPE is the strong thing i can say. Really. Until you you have a hope nothing is lost and nothing is pointless. At least in present moment of time (2017) a "Civilization-scale Existential crisis" is not a question at all. We must live a happy life and make a better future for the next generations.

My dad's frat watched it in their common room, they were all big on star trek so you can imagine how hyped up they were. He said there was lots of yelling.
