WEIRD! i could have sworn aphex created a device called a compellor and a few other things not listed here ...

Yeah they did. The Aphex Compellor 300 which came out about 87 and the 320/320a which came out in the early 90s. The 722 didn't come out in 2001 but around the early 90s. At a station I worked for when they went to air in 1991 had the 320a Compellor and 722 Dominator,
