My personal favourite was the unofficial Spectrum version, 3D Star strike, by Realtime software in 1984. Far better than the later Domark ports

Yeah, I prefer Realtime one. I couldn't understand why the Domark one wasn't better... kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5akh4qQfL6nfs0si=sBNDF0GpodLonHJk

Atari did not create Space Invaders in the arcade. Taito did, distributed by Midway.

Great Work, I owned an Atari 520 ST in 1987, but unfortunately never seen the game by a local dealer. Was there really only mouse support and no joystick on this version ? Is there any way to emulate the original cabinet hardware from 1983 ? (I have seen a lot of Cabinet Rebuilds, but never a software Emulator).

you can emulate the original cabinet arcade version with MAME, even you can tweak it to use the mouse instead of joypads or joysticks.

John Wayne Star Wars 😂 I guess you meant John Williams...

I did actually say John Williams but it sounded more like John Wayne! I did have a cold.

@@retrogamerdiaries ok tid bit of historys first. they actually digitized the voices of the actors and put them in the game. keep in mind that those samples took a good healthy chunk of memory on that arcade board and they took extra time to make sure they sounded as close as possible to originals actually delaying the release of the cabinet by 3 or 4 weeks.
