Speedrunning be like: "He discovered a trick that was immensely hard to pull off. It required ten angle perfect inputs, thirteen pixel perfect inputs, and alternating buttons every 60th of a second without pausing. It took place in the last minute of the run, and he had to be there on the perfect frame, which meant completely perfect play up to that point. Additionally, not only was his position required to be right, but his subpixel position, which takes too long to manipulate and is essentially RNG (7/3000 chance) had to be right as well. The trick involves unplugging your console from the controller, the monitor and the battery strategically to get a certain power flow, which if failed could electricute you; those inputs also had to be done within 1/60 of a second as well. In all, the trick saved around three tenths of a second. Obviously, it was worth going for it."

I love how collaborative speedrunning is. Everyone is basically putting all their tech out in the open so that they can completely for execution on a level playing field. At most someone gets Behemothed now and then (see the Super Metroid video for context) but even then a surprise record from a strategy change is usually accompanied by a big form post inviting everyone else to try to new trick and push it to the limit. It's really such a wholesome competition.

Interesting thing I did while watching the video: So, every level has a counter at the top of the screen. Since the final dracula fight is usually featured prominently in any run shown, I decided to keep track of the remaining time, just to see who managed the final level the absolute fastest. The first run featured, during the early era of runs covered, was by the V-man himself, Tom Votava, who killed dracula with a generous 567 left on the clock. This was improved by Retro2dGamer, who finished with 578 remaining. Unfortunately, the third "early era" run by Bablo didn't feature an orb collection, so the next improvement noted was by FunkDoc, finishing that era of runs with an impressive 597. The Kmac era (ft. a guest appearance from Double Armory) began with a solid 603 finish. Over the course of his uncontested records, this was brought up to bold 614, before Double Armory stepped in. After squeaking by with a 616, Double Armory was mugged in a dark alley by Kmac, who retired after his landmark 618 finish. The final record came from JC, who may not have come out on top in the 100% category, but his Dracula IL game was immaculate. His 621 orb collection went unmatched for the rest of the video, truly a powerful finish.

You know, one thing that I love about this channel is that I have no idea who this guy is on really any level, but that doesn't matter. This is my favorite channel on KZbin. But there's almost no personality to it, and there doesn't need to be. Like genuine unmatched levels of high quality content, without inserting his life or opinion into any of it. I think that just goes to show how amazing this channel is. Realistically, I don't care to, and I will probably never speedrun anything, but I don't need to. Everytime I see an upload from this channel, I get genuinely excited, and that hasn't happened in a very long time.

His personality is completely here, editing the music that's all personal preference which is personality. Hes also a speedrune himself and broadcast on twitch where you get more personal but there's def personality here.

I can say that Holy Water in Ultimate is much like the one from Castlevania: When hit an enemy, this one is stunned while receiving damage, unable to do any damage to you, making them easy to kill or run away from. He even said that indirectly in 3:45. On a side note, their down-air is much like boosting in those games, in the sense of boucing if you hit an enemy.
